A beautiful place that we will visit again!

We have really enjoyed our time in the Ixtapa region and our stay at Las Brisas. It’s a beautiful resort with so many things to do and see right in the facility itself - from the amazing food and drink at the restaurants, to the well laid out pool area & the amazing beach! The Spa was also incredible, the two lovely attendants, Celica and Ximena, pampered us with an exceptional steam room and couples massage experience that we won’t soon forget! Las Brisas resort also offers an in-house adventure/tour consultant which made it super easy to go and see some sites outside the resort in a safe & relaxed manner. We also enjoyed the shopping opportunities available within the resort & a local artisan craft table was also set up daily with brightly colored pottery and jewelry available for purchase. The region itself is so beautiful and unique, the Sea Turtles tour to Playa Petatillo was an unforgettable experience and is something we would definitely do again! Don’t forget to try the Sopes! We also went on a private guided tour of Xihuacan where we got to learn about the history of the region, about the current local climate (economic wise) and its place within Mexico in general. We also ate at a local restaraunt and had some of the best barbecue chicken and tortillas we’ve ever had! All in all it was an amazing trip and we will certainly visit the region again.

Death and no help from travel agent nor Las Brisas.

The ugly: My spouse’s mother passed away unexpectedly mid-trip. We returned home eight days early to support family and handle arrangements. I contacted our travel provider by phone and email requesting a refund for the remaining eight days of our trip due to exceptional circumstances. The travel provider's response was ‘we are not getting a response from the hotel.’ So how do you conduct business with a hotel that doesn’t respond to you? We would’ve been happy with a travel credit, but they didn’t even offer that. I contacted Las Brisas four times by email requesting the same and all I got was ‘here’s our survey.’ We checked out with the Concierge, told her we had no response from the hotel regarding our refund request. She called someone and then went and spoke to someone. She told me, to my face, we would be getting a full refund to the credit card. That never happened. I should’ve asked for that in writing, but wasn’t thinking clearly and frankly was just grateful we finally got some response from the hotel. The Bad: there are a LOT of stairs. Believe them in the hotel write up. There was literally no way to get to a restaurant nor the beach without stairs. The lobby bar opened at 4:00 p.m. so if a person can’t do stairs to get to a bar, you go thirsty until 4:00. There is no entertainment, not even a piano player. No gluten free options at the beach bar. Margaretas are different here. Don’t expect a traditional lovely PV margareta. The good: room was great, balcony even better, full sliding doors open to the deck which has a hammock. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of pressure and hot water in the shower. The buffets were very basic but the food I could have (GF) was tasty. The grounds were lovely and very lush. Enjoyed the adult pool. Overall a good hotel, we just had a bad experience and received no support. Both Expedia and Las Brisas should have written refund policies for a death.

Christmas on the Beach @ Las Brisas Ixtapa

My husband and I spent a glorious 13 days at Las Brisas Ixtapa in Dec 2025. Our 2nd visit to this resort, a decision we made with no hesitation! We are charmed by the design and character of the facility., and the friendly, accommodating staff! From Moses and Anna @ El Mexicano; Valeria, Angel, Jesus and Efron @ Bellavista; Daniel at the front desk & Leslie (Resort Concierge); Yamely in the Main Lounge, and their Director, Miguel (who makes a habit of seeking out and personally greeting returning guests) you are soon make welcome and valued! Although we neglected to get our housekeepers name, our room (2108) was well looked after with water and coffee supplies replenished daily during our stay. Yes, there are LOTS of stairs but we were happy to incorporate them into our daily exercise plan.... a must with the great food and beverages available. For those who are unable to navigate the stairs, there are shuttle options to and from the pool and beach areas, and ramps and elevators for restaurant and speciality dining areas. The beach is quiet and secluded and the life guards are dutiful and attentive. When we visited in February there were days when the surf was quite rough, and I didn't venture in although my husband loved the rougher water! This visit, the surf was calmer and everyday was a swimming day! No shortage of palapas and on the busiest days over the Christmas period the staff provided temporary umbrellas so all who wished had shade and were protected. The beach wait staff were on the move constantly so there was never any shortage of drinks or food available, and always delivered with a smile! Two items to note: This resort is very quiet at night; no nightly entertainment in the lounge area, which suited us, but is missed by some. Also, the restaurant menus are "hybrid", so some items on the menu aren't included in the all inclusive package but can be purchased at an additional cost. Worth noting if this is of importance to the group you are travelling with. We reserved in Beach Club for this reservation, but wouldn't use it again, as we didn't feel it enhanced our resort experience. We are always delighted with the abundant food choices at Bellavista at breakfast, keeping in mind, if the buffet items aren't to your liking you can also choose from the breakfast menus items. Although the young lady at the Egg/Omelet Grill in the morning is 2nd to none!! The public areas are kept spotless and we noticed ongoing maintenance from our first visit in February 2025. We feel it is great value for the money spent. Would we return? Definitely!! and we are already pricing accommodation for a long-term stay in 2027.

Great experience using the Brisa Beach Club.

Margarita and Miguel Angel provided top notch service during breakfast at “piso 20” Brisas Beach Club. Food, Personal attention and taking care of all our request was great. We strongly recommend staying at the BBC and avoid the long lines at the main restaurant.
