False advertising & limited service
The Tropical is located in a beautiful setting; however, the customer service and amenities did not match what was advertised, which significantly affected our stay. Upon arrival, we were informed that we needed to verify a checklist of items in our room. Once inside, we immediately noticed several items were missing and contacted the front desk. It took over an hour for someone to come verify the issue. Throughout our eight-day stay, many basic amenities were unreliable or completely unavailable. There was no hot water. We had some warm water. A few time mid shower, the water would stop flowing unexpectedly. We would call the front desk and they would tell us to wait a few minutes and it will come back on. We did not have consistent TV service, the Wi-Fi was extremely limited despite paying an additional fee, and there were multiple occasions where we had no water at all—including hot water. At times, the shower water would not shut off properly, creating further inconvenience. After multiple complaints, we requested a room change, a refund, or at least some form of compensation—such as access to other resort amenities or restaurants not included in our VIP package. None of these options were made available to us. We were repeatedly told the resort was sold out, leaving us stuck in the same room with ongoing issues. No refunds were provided for the Wi-Fi fee, and no meaningful effort was made to resolve or compensate for the problems. Even a simple gesture, such as covering our cab ride to the airport, was not offered. No let’s talk about the sales people. From the real estate to the spa they will follow up till you book with them. The real sales canvassing the resort all day and 2x Ramon came knocking on the door while we were sleeping in to ask to take a tour. From the spa, Gene was at every restaurant we came out of to book us a spa. I wanted to a massage so I eventually did book with Gene. The therapist was amazing however after treatment Gene was already at the door trying to upsell us on another spa treatment. We told him that we wanted to enjoy our time at the spa and get an experience but it was never ending. Finally when he left we found out that the sauna rooms were both out of order, the jacuzzi should be called a cold plunge. There was NOTHING HOT about it. In addition to the bar. It was very limited. The bartender service was limited. The guy was the bartender also the towel boy and janitor. It is disappointing because the resort itself is stunning, but the lack of customer care, accountability, and follow-through overshadowed the experience. For a property this beautiful, the level of service should be far better.

Great vacation if you can deal with a few things
This was our second stay at this resort. Pros: 🔹 Beautiful beachfront with comfy beds, bar service, and food delivered right to your lounger. 🔹 Large, clean pools. 🔹 Excellent spa—great massage, body scrub, facial, and a refreshing juice bar by the jacuzzi. 🔹 Polite, pleasant staff who try to be helpful. 🔹 Relaxing vibe with optional activities; easy to stay low‑key. 🔹 Tasty food at both the restaurants and buffet. 🔹 the casino and shows on site were fun. Cons: 🔹 No room service. After 10pm, food is limited to a small buffet (soup, basic salad, hamburgers without cheese, hotdogs). You can’t take food out unless the front desk gives special permission. When I got sick, it took 3 hours to get a simple soup delivered despite multiple calls and being labeled “VIP through RCI.” 🔹 Pools and jacuzzis are extremely cold unless it’s summer. The only warm jacuzzi is in the spa, and you must pay for a service to access it. 🔹 The Lifestyles membership creates unnecessary segregation. I was asked to move from an empty beach bed area because of my wristband—even though I had an all‑inclusive VIP band and the “correct” area was a 2‑minute walk away with identical beds and bar. 🔹 The nightclub is restricted to Lifestyles members, even though it’s usually empty. 🔹 Expect persistent pressure to attend the Lifestyles presentation. We were called three mornings in a row at 8:30am until we unplugged the phone. We attended once before—plan for an all‑day commitment, not the promised one hour.
