Excellent Marriott Vacation Club Property
Visited Playa Andaluza in May for a family holiday - our first visit since 2011, and I'm pleased to report that the resort has matured nicely, kept well maintained and rooms refreshed, while the whole surrounding area has been tastefully developed (there is now a nice ALDI supermarket in walking distance of the resort). Why this resort only has a 3* rating is puzzling since the apartments are well equipped and the resort has everything you could want, three pools, crazy golf, paddle tennis etc etc.. but the best part is the friedliness of the Marriott team members - always greeting you with a smile on thier face and with great English too. I disagree with the comments that you need a car to stay at the resort; there are many great restaurants within 15 minutes walk, and taxis are freely available if you want to go into Estepona, Puerto Banus or Marbella old town (and not expensive). Recommended.

Blissful Break
Another fabulous week in idyllic accommodation. From arrival through to departure all staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms, pools and gardens were immaculate and daily room servicing delivers a five star, relaxed stay for all concerned. It’s a wonderfully safe environment for children of all ages, too!

An enjoyable stay on the Costa Del Sol
We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club Playa Andaluza in a studio unit on the first floor of the Huelva building. The unit included a king size bed, small table for two, kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator, sink, dinnerware, coffee maker, and toaster. Additionally, the unit had a balcony with a table and two chairs, large in-room safe, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our unit shared the entryway with a larger unit and you could hear the other guests coming and going. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late in the evening and were able to buy some food and drinks from the resort’s Marketplace. We were able to arrange a day tour to Tangier with the concierge before our arrival. Explored the area and took day trips to Ronda, Gibraltar, Marbella, Estepona, and Tangier. We enjoyed relaxing at the large pool area which faced the beachfront. We utilized the onsite complimentary laundry facilities which was very convenient. We also happened to be staying at the resort during the country wide power outage. The staff provided a dinner meal to the guests and one of the managers came to our unit to provide a flashlight. As this was an unusual and unprecedented situation, the staff did a great job considering the circumstances. Cons: While showering the water fluctuates hot and cold. We stayed at the Playa Andaluza through Interval International. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazingly well kept and beautiful resort!
Our second time at the resort and like the first time Christmas 2023 was amazing. Our room had recently been refurbished and everything from kitchen appliances to bed headboards had been refreshed. The apartment was immaculate every room, corner and cupboard was spotlessly clean. The apartments have everything you could need for your stay. Check in to check out was seamless and all the staff around the resort are friendly and welcoming. We did attend the Marriot sales pitch as I was interested to see how it compared and worked to what we currently have. Although it was not for us I must say the staff were lovely and I did not feel it was high pressure or made us feel uncomfortable in any way. The resort is beautiful and lots of nice restaurants nearby within a 15-20 minute walk.

Beautiful property. Super friendly staff!
This resort has a lot going for it: It's located right on the beach with sunset views of the Rock of Gibraltar and the mountains of Morocco in the distance; it's beautifully landscaped with multiple pools; and our two-bedroom villa was spacious with enjoyable balcony views. It also sports a lot of facilities for kids and a roomy indoor pool and spa. The front desk resort staff deserve 5 stars! They were exceptionally warm, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. When we called to ask if we could get softer pillows (we found the ones in the rooms were overly thick and firm) they delivered feather pillows promptly. Tommaso Cardin, the concierge, was truly a gem, spending more than an hour helping us plan and book our week of outings. He couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The downside of the resort is that it's located far away from everything. And the onsite-dining was uninspiring. There's a nearby Aldi but the restaurant choices are very limited nearby without having to take an extended cab ride. The resort is located about 50 minutes and a € 120 cab ride from the Malaga airport. So outings back to Malaga, and nearer-by Puerto Banus, and Marbella were costly. We took three excursions from the hotel, one to the countryside in Ronda, one to Gibraltar and one to Tangier, Morocco. We can say, the tours arranged through the Marriott concierge desk were very professional, comfortable and a good value — we can definitely recommend them and believe they were much better than what we found through Viator, for instance. All in all, we enjoyed a wonderful week in Spain. The people in Spain were all very friendly, the country side and the Costa del Sol were charming. And since the Marriott was a timeshare exchange, it ended up being very affordable. Others we spoke with said the Marriott property in Marbella was a bit more convenient if you're going to Malaga and points East. Compared to American resorts, though, this one was one of our favorites. We would definitely return here!
