  Just Gets Better

  Stayed here a few times previously and always have a great experience. This time we were allocated a recently refurbished room which was very nice and also has a ceiling fan adding to the comfort. Refurbishment is still ongoing but didn't here any noise. There was sometimes an unpleasant smell in public areas but seemed to go the last few days. The best thing was the staff, very friendly and helpful in all depts , particularly the beach guys and the Beach restaurant. We were bed and breakfast,as with the previous review we found to the omelette station chaotic and people queuing blocked the self serve areas. We will definitely return, aside from the hotel, it's in a great location, and the lift at the back of the hotel is handy, but only operates until 8pm but Is free for seniors

  Fantastic Hotel with great staff

  We stayed for 6 nights in the Melia Costa Del Sol from 4th June until the 10th on the 4th floor . It was a fantastic stay, the rooms are great with beds that are super comfy and is one of cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. The maids are hard working and all very polite. Breakfast was good with plenty of options but the only thing I didn't like was the queue for the omelets to be cooked it just formed a queue every morning but this is like a lot of hotels when it comes to omelets and the sausages looked awful apart from that.. food for everybody's taste buds, the pool area was well maintained and was easy to get a sun lounger upstairs or downstairs anytime of day. The food and drink at the pool bar was first class. Great cocktails Staff all friendly and professional. On the beach they charge 8 euros per sunbed with an umbrella free unless you want a front row sunbed that's 10 euros. Great staff on the front desk as well, a great rooftop bar opens until late in summer months. Enjoy this hotel it's just brilliant

  Excellent Hotel in the best area of Torremolinos

  We stayed at the Melia Costa del Sol for 10 nights in May. Torremolinos is not a place that we would usually consider because we prefer smaller hotels in quieter, more traditional locations, but in this case we wished to take advantage of the public transport links to visit Malaga, Granada and Mijas. The hotel is very well located for this because the public elevator to the town centre is nearby (thereby avoiding many steps ) and it is only a 10 minute walk from there to the train station and central bus stops (both trains and busses are inexpensive in Andalusia). The hotel is located in the best part of Torremolinos son the Paseo Maritime, so it is possible to walk around the headland all the way to Benalalmadena, taking advantage of the many chiringuitos on the way. We paid a little extra for The Level, which turned out to be a good choice because it gave access to the Level Lounge and child free rooftop pool. It also included a concierge service. Jasmin and Patricia in particular were extremely charming and helpful, providing advice on transport and arranging for us to join a small group tour to visit Granada. Some building and renovation work was in progress at the front of the hotel during our stay but Jasmin ensured that we had a spotlessly clean sea view room on the 9th floor, well away from this work so noise was never a problem for us. We were surprised to see that some reviews criticised the food because we could it excellent with plenty of choices for breakfast and at dinner, including more than one fish option at dinner each day, with delicious freshly baked bread always available. We are usually wary of buffets because in some hotels food may be left out too long or other guests may make a mess of the food when serving themselves, but this was not the case at the Melia because the food was always well presented and put out in small amounts that were quickly replaced when needed. The Restaurant Manager who greeted us each evening was unfailingly charming and welcoming, as indeed were all the staff at the hotel. I was surprised to read some negative comments about the rooms and the food from some reviewers but we all have to speak as we find and we did not experience any of those problems. In summary, the accommodation, service, facilities and location of the Melia Costa Del Sol exceeded our expectations for a hotel in Torremolinos. The town itself may not be to everybody's taste but ability to get to Malaga by frequent train in just 20 minutes meant that it was perfect for us on this occasion.

  Outstanding!

  We were so impressed with this hotel. From the rooms, to the linens, to the spectacular views, to the rooftop amenities - absolutely everything was top notch. Breakfast buffet not to be missed! Staff amazing! Already planning our next year trip!

  Sewer issue and terrible smell. Major renovations going on

  My boyfriend & I stayed at the Melia Costa del Sol from 5/21 - 5/28 with a large group. We were in room 2925. We noticed an odor in our room the first day. I reported the smell to the front desk & didn't hear from anyone. The next day I went to the front desk & told them the odor (smelled like cat urine) was still there. I did not hear from anyone. The next day I called & went to the front desk & ended up speaking with the Guest Experience Manager, Gloria Rodriguez. She listened to me & told me there was a sewage issue on the entire 9th floor. She told me she could offer me a room on the 6th floor but it was right near the elevator. She had no other comparable room to offer us. She told me that technicians were working on the issue. The problem lasted the entire vacation. I had to email Gloria to detail my issues and I asked for compensation. She ended up comping our bar tab. That is not enough to deal with cat urine smell. This hotel is going through major renovations now and the smell on the 9th floor is still there in room 2925. Very disappointing
