Ladies: No tank tops, shorts and beach sandals. Gentlemen: No sleeveless shirts, shorts, beach sandals. **In the Alcazar men are required to wear shirts with sleeves. The guests receive upon arrival pre-arranged invitations per room for our specialty restaurants according to the number of nights that the guest is staying.

Needs updating and improvement in food. Not for older people or those with mobility issues. Pay a. Little more for a better place. Nice beach but average and or below average facilities.

My husband and I just returned from Occidental Caribe. We do have two things that we liked about the resort. First the location of the resort was right on the beach. Second the grounds of the resort are meticulously maintained. Now for the negatives. We had a premier suite, you might think that's great, not so. We had trouble with the toilet not flushing and when it did the water continued to run which we had to deal with while trying to sleep. After three times of reporting the problem and it still continued we gave up. The water in the shower and sink never got hot. We had to turn the water on 10 to 15 minutes before we got warm water. Maintenance said there was nothing wrong. It's sad that during our week stay we wasted so much water trying to get warm water. The TV in the living room did not have a remote control and we called to get one, the person that came to the room told us to use the remote control from the bedroom TV, that d emote. We believe that most of the problems stem from the employees not speaking or understanding the English language. When we used the safe provided, we could not open it again. Called and a security person came and he could not open it. He left then came back and after a while he finally got it open. We had reservations at the Italian Restaurant that got cancelled because of rain and leaking roof at restaurant. There was also a mistake in charging us 6 days for all-inclusive instead of 7 days, which created another problem. Well enough said. We do not recommend this resort. We booked our time sharing exchange thru Interval International and they are getting a copy of this review.

The pools and the beach are great!! Food needs to be better. The need to the staff to speak better English or better.

Avoid
Lack of organization during reception. Specialty foods such as Italian and Mexican should be avoided at all costs. Rooms are outdated.

Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.
Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.
Hotel Spring Break Policy - The hotel will not accept any Spring Break groups. If the hotel does make an exception the following policy will be strictly applied: Students / youth are considered by the hotel as anyone between 16 and 23 years old. They will be required to sign a responsibility letter agreeing to leave the hotel if there is a disruption. Upon check in each student / youth will be required to leave cash deposit of $400 per person - no exceptions and cash only. Minimum age requirement for hotel check in is 18. Any guests under the age of 18 will require a chaperone. 1 chaperone is required per 3 students / youth under the age of 18. Minimum age for a chaperone is 28.
Legal drinking age in the DR is 18. Any guests under 18 will be given a wrist band that will not allow them to have access to alcohol at any venue and will also not allow them in the disco. All guests are required to wear wristbands. The cost for a lost wristband is $250 - no exceptions. The hotel does reserve the right to ask any student / youth to check out of the property if the hotel policies are not fulfilled without the right to a refund for the remaining nights of the reservation.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.
General Information - Room taxes and service fees are included in vacation price.
