Absolutely amazing!
This hotel is just beautiful. Everything is super clean, well taken care of, and the vibe makes you feel like you’re on vacation from the moment you arrive. The food was one of the best parts. There are a lot of places to eat around the hotel, and the best thing is there’s always something different. Everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and nicely served. It’s impossible to get bored of the food because there are so many options. The staff was super friendly. Always smiling, ready to help with anything, and really attentive. You can tell they actually care about making sure you’re having a good time. We left so happy and definitely want to come back. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive place to relax, eat well, and have fun, this is it. Highly recommended!

Not Occidental but Accidental
The only way you wish to stay here is by accident. Some phones in the guest rooms didn't work. Thus, you couldn't call for the shuttle which was necessary to navigate around the property. Check in time was lengthy as they only have one printer for copying the necessary paperwork. They claim that there is a stocked mini bar- no. Every day you get two beers, one soda and two bottles of water-in other words courtesy drinks not a minibar. Four restaurants- buffet was lacking of palatable choices. Italian and Chinese restaurants require reservations, although I never understood why. The food isn't great and these restaurants were never full in the six days we were there. The grill/snack bar was the best BUT it was not air conditioned. So you could eat BUT you would be uncomfortable due to the excessive humidity. Pictures indicate that there is a gym on the property. Nope- it's a hut with a few machines by the pool. Management suggested that all valuables be placed in the safe. Yet, when a couple couldn't get their safe open- management could not find the master key. this is a two star hotel by American standards. They offer premium liquor and food but that is an additional $40 a day. Only one of our group tried that and said it was not worth the additional cost. Obviously the website over promises and under delivers. l could go on but I am sure by now, you understand why you should not stay at this property.

Nice resort!
The resort is very pretty and spread out. Definitely would recommend getting a Premium room which allows you to go to the Premium lounge. Drinks/liquor are brand name vs going to the other bars, although there is only and it located near the front of the resort. Kattya was the best!! They offer shuttles to all areas of the property, but everything is within walking distance if you want to get steps in. The water in this area is calmer compared to the Tamarindo area. Food is average at the buffets. Recommend making reservations to the al-a-carte restaurants for dinner. A step up & better - wasn't disappointed at the 3 restaurants (Oriental, Steakhouse & Italian). Saw Iguanas and Black Howler Monkeys on the property. Nightlife - there is a disco/bar that does Karaoke every night we were there. And the Premium lounge is open until 11pm.
