The Good The Bad The Ugly
Work men in dirty work clothes boots etc in bars and restaurants, taking up all the bar stools in the lobby bar , noisy thinking it’s there holiday and chatting up the ladies Only the lobby bar and sports bar to sit and have a few drinks Workmen doing slats on the top floor hanging and swinging like what can only be described as Spider-Man , Couldn’t even look in case I had to witness a death, this was happening above my swim out and i had to get out of the pool Loo shortage all over the resort Pool had 2 rest rooms for a pool capacity of 1629 people so couldn’t even imagine this in full capacity other than being a very warm pool, toilets ladies had 2 , one large room with a lock on the door and sink to wash the other a dirty box with no lock so god help you if you got that one, generally no queues as they must prefer the pool to do this! Not all restaurants had rest room facilities so again on the adult side you had 1 male 1 ladies , so don’t think I will go in a minute as you probably won’t make it Room cleaning was daily and kept nice by servicing staff, no floor mats or hand towels or face cloths seen after first day tho, we did have extra bath towels to place on the floor but felt this was a waste to use a full bath sheet to prevent slipping after a shower I’m a disabled traveler and book my holidays to suit what I need from a holiday, The hotel sounded perfect for me when it was booked my swim up was nice , little bits of damage in there after the hurricane but it was nice to float about in. I was deeply disappointed that the Hot tub wasn’t working as the heater was broken and Lazy river wasn’t working either with no current to drive you round it I checked this out daily and each day it still wasn’t fixed , I like this facility as it gives me independence and for my hubby to go off for a bit and I’m safe there without needing help Tui told us it’s fully operational which clearly it isn’t. This hotel certainly wasn’t ready for Christmas guests and not sure it’s ever going to be ready for guests expecting a 5 * experience. It’s literally a 3* being generous Reviews are mixed on this hotel I can only presume the better ones are people on short break holidays so haven’t tried all the available services here, it’s not a suitable hotel for a long vacation , even fully operational I wouldn’t recommend this hotel it’s 100% not a 5 Food not good at all , pre cooked then microwaved and not to edible safe temperature, my husband’s pork chops at the steak house were like a hard bat and most certainly microwaved. This was admitted to us by a lady from food experience services, she actually said only steak is cooked fresh to order. Very little choice in the buffet restaurant, some dishes just sat dried out, no salad or fruit bars. Not suitable for those who like a healthy balanced diet. Jerk chicken bar was dried chicken like chewing loft boards, lunch in marlin was fair, and breakfast was fair although I only went on arrival and on departure, even noticed by staff that there was actually a mrs Cook ! After reporting our experiences with evening meals Andre arranged for us to try dinner at privilege on day 4, we enjoyed our food and reported this information to him on day 5, he was unhappy with my husband’s review of a 2* that he posted on day 3 and asked him to tweak it, and we could eat in privilege again that evening. My husband added further information to his review including the help Andre had provided and he decided to change to 3*, Andre called and didn’t seem happy with the 3* and again asked for a tweak We refused to change it again as we felt the hotel didn’t meet any higher for our experience, we didn’t hear from him again and wasn’t offered any further assistance with our food complaints. He did resume contact just before it was time to leave and he said he hadn’t been in touch due to having the Flu all week The first week at the pool was chaos people unable to get a sun-bed We witnessed many arguments with people taking other people’s beds and witnessed a man throwing stuff at a lady who acquired his bed, only towels was at the bed no personal belongings and seen him put them there 3 hours earlier We felt sorry for the hard working Entertainment staff who had to step in and deal with these matters, disgraceful for management not to have prepared for the amount of guests during the Christmas period and leave such matters to the entertainment staff, H10 should be ashamed of themselves A delivery of beds arrived for the second week when all the Christmas chaos had gone. Check in was slow but staff friendly and our swim up room was ready. Route 66 No milkshakes for 2 weeks Burgers and chips cooked fresh the night we went to be fair And again full of workmen in work clothes, having a great time Restaurants not all open of an evening Alternating between what evening they was open Even when tables set outside, they say not available No branded spirits unless your privilege , couldn’t even get a moijtjo as they had no mint for the 2 weeks we were there, just cheap sugary slushie with a dash of local spirit on top. Never seen a banana either! We enjoyed our days round ocean bay adults pool when Rochelle was working as she made sure we had drinks and was happy to chat with us, She worked hard and it was noticed to us when she was on her day off No bars , just sports bar ocean side, Lobby bar Edan side No where to sit when it rains as it will in these tropical regions so your back to your room with that generous mini bar of 2 beers ! 2 water 1 Coke 1 orange 1 lemonade The hard working entertainment staff Billy, Adrian, kittinana,Rohndallee Rushelle Scott made this 2 week holiday bearable, many thanks to all of you .

A beautiful Escape
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ocean Eden Bay and upgrading to Privilege was the best decision we made. The property is breathtaking and the rooms extremely clean and very comfortable. We also got the swim out room and that enhanced our experience. The restaurants are all A-class, but the one that stood out the most for us was The Steak House, it was my birthday and the staff sang to me so beautifully, I thought I was in a musical. The male server, I believe his name is Michael someone need to help him to get on The Voice, he is extraordinary and very talented. The food was delicious and the perfect serving size. We want to acknowledge Samora our personal server, she was exceptional, she made the dining experience phenomenal. I love that the property has so much to do, swimming, playing pool, table tennis, bowling and a lovely theatre where we had the pleasure of watching a Michael Jackson show which was so good. A special shout out to Nichola at the privilege desk, she is a gem and excellent at her job, she went over and beyond for us without us even asking for assistance. Carline, Shawntel, Nathaya, Nicole(privilege server) and Samantha( privilege hostess) were all amazing! The attention, the warmth, the kindness is unmatched. Our experience was 10/10 and we will definitely be back. Love from Natalie and Jamie

Best service and FOOD!
This was our second visit. First was when it opened and the service was not the best. They have definitely taken feedback and improved tremendously. The food at the buffets and the selection of meat and fish is amazing. Steak house and French were also very good. Sakura- only complaint the portions of food were very small. I was surprised as at every resort this is where they fill your plates! Not enough chicken or shrimp to go around the table. No issues with chairs at pool. Jerk hut is the best lunch everyday! Service all around was great- everyone smiling. But MONQUE from the steak house is the most pleasant server/manager we’ve met. Kaci and shevaugn at the lobby are also great and try to help you out:) *** please invest in some FANS for the gym, it’s not worth the complaints from peoplle, it’s unbearable and a simple fix!!! It’s been months without AC- so at least get some fans guys!! Also, robes! Just give us some robes for the room on the Eden side! lol We want to see you all do well here after the hurricane… it’s just really small things to pay attention to. You’re on a roll- keep it up Ocean Eden!!! We will of course be back!
