Budget price with a budget experience, keep expectations low.
We just stayed at Ocean Riviera Paradise and overall, it was an okay experience — definitely not terrible, but definitely not somewhere we’d rush back to. We booked it for around $750 for 4 nights, so we knew going in it was on the budget side for an all-inclusive. Honestly, you get what you pay for: there were some good things, but also a lot of frustrating details that added up. What we liked: • The shuttle service around the property was really convenient, especially to get to the beach. • The breakfast buffet had a ton of options — something for everyone. • We booked a cenotes tour through Dive It (the on-site company) and it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. • Our room was a good size and had enough space for a comfortable stay. What needs major improvement: • You’re only allowed to eat at one reservation restaurant per stay, which feels super limiting for an all-inclusive. • Tons of salespeople constantly pushing tours and products made it hard to actually relax and enjoy the property. • The beach looks great in pictures, but the water is crazy rocky and hard to walk into — barely any soft sand where you actually need it. • Not every adult can use the adults-only pool — you have to be an El Beso member, and that wasn’t made clear when we booked. • Pool bartenders worked hard but rarely smiled or made the experience feel fun. • The Mexican shopping night was exhausting — vendors wouldn’t leave us alone. • The fishing tour we booked through Dive It was cheap but the boat was tiny and didn’t feel safe. • Floors and bathroom corners in the room were dirty, and the bed was like sleeping on concrete — I didn’t get a good night’s sleep the entire trip. • You only get a few free water bottles in the room, and anything extra is $3 each — annoying for an all-inclusive. • Mike’s Coffee Shop doesn’t open until 7:30 AM (way too late for coffee), and if there’s more than a few people in line, expect to wait forever for a tiny, syrupy coffee. • The ice cream shop was a letdown — the ice cream tasted like slightly flavored ice water. • Worst part: trying to eat as a group (we had 6 people) at the beach restaurant. We were told 40 minutes, waited, got called back, and then told another 30 minutes — meanwhile, there were plenty of open tables they just refused to seat us at. Half our group ended up leaving for the buffet because it was so frustrating. ⸻ Bottom Line: Ocean Riviera Paradise has some positives, but the constant upselling, rocky beach, hidden restrictions, and hit-or-miss service made it hard to fully enjoy. At around $750 for 4 nights, it’s fine for a budget-friendly getaway, but if you’re looking for great service, better food, and a truly relaxing experience, you might want to spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

"Perfect Family Getaway Near Playa del Carmen"
We wanted to stay at a hotel near Playa del Carmen and decided to try this all-inclusive resort for a week. Honestly, I loved the location, the place itself, and the service. It was definitely worth it. It was a family vacation, and we truly enjoyed every moment. At the reception, Jordan and his manager — a very kind lady whose name I don't remember — welcomed us. The check-in process was very quick, and shortly after, we received our room, which was spacious, comfortable, and located right in front of the kids' water slides — perfect! The service throughout the resort was amazing, from the housekeeping staff to the waiters and the beach service. Waitresses like Maria and Aida took excellent care of us at the beach. We had a great time; the food was top quality — fresh, clean, and delicious. There’s a wide variety of cuisines, including Italian, Arabic, English, Mexican, and American, along with a huge selection of desserts. We ordered room service several times, and the food always arrived hot, tasty, and quickly. The facilities are first-class; they are constantly renovating, and every time a new guest arrives, they repaint and clean the rooms very meticulously. I went to the spa, where Sandra gave me honestly the best massage of my life, and Edgar assisted me at the hydrotherapy area — I really enjoyed it, it was totally worth it and very relaxing. I highly recommend the spa experience. Overall, I would give the hotel 5 stars. I would just like to suggest that they improve their website. We tried to invite some friends with a day pass, but the online reservation system wasn’t working, and it was quite difficult to arrange one at the reception. It would be great if they could make that process easier. Also, although the beach is beautiful with amazing, crystal-blue water, there are quite a lot of stones when you first walk into the sea. I could feel the stones for a while until I reached an area with more sand. It was a bit difficult to find a comfortable spot to stand, especially when trying to go into the water with my child Another downside is the large number of vendors and massage sellers constantly approaching guests at the beach. Every five minutes someone would ask if we wanted to buy something or get a massage, which became quite irritating. It would be nice if the hotel could control this better. In general, though, we had a wonderful stay. I absolutely recommend this resort and we will definitely return.

Amazing birthday experience at Ocean Riveria Paradise
We visited the resort the 2nd weekend of April. The resort was very clean and the staff was welcoming. We had seen on the face book group a suggestion for Manuel as a preferred butler so our group requested his services. He did not disappoint. He was very knowledgeable about tours what we should take and guided us to the Isla Muejeras boat tour. We were celebrating birthdays and assisted us in planning a special dinner at the privilege lounge. We will definitely come back and ask Manuel to be our Butler.

Excellent Vacation & Resort
Stayed: April 10th–22nd | Family of 5 As Europeans, we usually spend our summer holidays in southern Europe. This year, a work commitment brought us to Mexico, and after comparing prices, we realised two weeks here would be on par with our usual European trips. We chose Ocean Riviera Paradise based on this and previous H10 experiences—and it exceeded expectations. Here’s a breakdown based on categories I found useful in other reviews: Food & Drinks The food was consistently excellent across all the restaurants. There’s a huge variety, and we never struggled to find something great. For lunch, Ocean Burger and Pez Vella were our favourites thanks to its views and ocean breeze—perfect after pool or beach time. We dined in all the restaurants except Blue Moon and found the service and quality top-notch throughout. Given the size of the resort, the consistently high standards are a credit to the staff. Service & Staff The staff are outstanding. Friendly, helpful, and always ready to go above and beyond. We never had a negative interaction. A special thanks to Gregorio in the kids club—he made a big impression. Facilities / Beach / Pools Having stayed at an H10 in Lanzarote, we expected a solid standard, but this location is on a much bigger scale. The public areas are immaculate, and the maintenance team does a fantastic job. The beach is a highlight—it offers the best of all worlds: ocean, sand, and pool. Washrooms were constantly cleaned, and staff regularly collected empty cups. The kids’ pool could get hectic, especially around the swim-up bar. We preferred the beach or Eden Pool, which was calmer. One suggestion: making the swim-up bar in the kids’ area alcohol-free might improve the family-friendly vibe, as some adults didn’t always adjust their behaviour to the setting. That said, the lifeguards were fantastic—attentive and safety-conscious, offering life vests to children as needed. Rooms We stayed in two adjoining rooms in the Daisy building—this request was accommodated perfectly. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped for a two-week stay. For a family of five (2 adults, 3 kids), the layout worked well, with the kids having two queen beds and a large sofa bed. Rooms were serviced daily, and everything from the AC to the mini-fridge worked flawlessly. Check-In & Upsell We arrived late (around 11pm), and check-in was smooth and efficient. We were offered a ride to our room but opted to walk after the long flight. Importantly, we weren’t pressured into any timeshare or upgrade pitches, which was refreshing, if you wanted it I’m sure you could ask. Sunbeds This is one area that could use improvement. Towels were reserving sunbeds as early as 7am, and many beds stayed “occupied” all day without anyone using them. A token or nominal fee system might help discourage this behaviour and make access fairer for everyone. Final Thoughts This resort delivers on everything it promises and more. Our only gripe—sunbed management—is relatively minor. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend Ocean Riviera Paradise to anyone considering a family-friendly getaway in Mexico
