Great Resort - Bad Personal Jacuzzi at Room 4129
The people, amenities, and environment here were AWESOME! Fernando at guest service was a great help, Carlos the cab driver was excellent and everyone was very kind. I would give 5 stars if our jacuzzi worked. We asked the front desk about fixing our jacuzzi that I payed extra for (room 4129) and when a technician came out to look at it, he said it was functioning normally when only half of the water was working. Despite this, our stay was excellent!! Great honeymoon experience.

Accused for stealing a napkin in buffet
Rooms are dirty, everything that should be white is stained and has not been cleaned in what seems to be decades. Went for breakfast this morning at the buffet and as I went to get more food I realized I forgot to leave my cloth napkin at the table. So I quickly put it in the top of my purse so I could serve myself. All of a sudden the lovely Carlos (grumpy old man) decided to accuse me of stealing the napkin! He angrily told me to go now and put it back on the table. I explained that I had accidentally forgotten to leave it there and was going to bring it back when I was returning with my food. But he made me put my plate down and bring my napkin back to the table to ensure I wasn’t going to steal it. This is only my second day so be prepared for a couple more reviews. Needless to say, the beginning of the stay here is already a joke.

Fun trip to Ocean
Couple trip for 11 nights and we had such a wonderful time. This is our 6th time in Riviera Maya. The hotel is smaller than other resorts we had visited or at least was more compact. All amenities are easy to reach. We really enjoyed the food here, some restaurants were ok and some great. The buffet had a great variety particularly at breakfast and lunch. This is a pool hotel as there is not much of a beach however walk left and you will find a nice beach next door at the Ocean princess. Rooms and communal areas all very clean. Some parts of the hotel are requiring some attention as there is broken areas around the pool and the sunbeds at the infinity pool desperately need replacing. There are some issues in the rooms too needing updated/fixed. There seemed to be rooms being painted everyday so this might be an ongoing improvement? Despite these aesthetic issues the atmosphere at the hotel is excellent. The staff all work extremely hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff at elbeso pool bar and restaurant were amazing, it was a very lively area. The entertainment team were brilliant and able to get people involved but not put pressure on, they gave us lots of laughs. For me this is not a romantic hotel like others I've stayed although there are some beautiful areas. It has a more lively at times party atmosphere even over at the kids pool which looked great fun for younger kids. If you want a hotel with fun lively activities, good food, great staff then you will have a great holiday here.

Long Lines - Poorly Managed
Long Lines - Poorly Managed The Ocean Riviera Paradise is ok, but not great. Here are the lows and highs. Check in was slow. The chap, Enrique, was so rude to my friend it set off the holiday with a sour note. Also, we found the administration and paperwork needlessly fussy. Sorry, this is a long story …. The massive wait at the bar frustrated customers. At one point I counted 34 people waiting to be served by two bar staff. I received a message after answering a request to leave feedback. A manager phoned me and thanked me for my comment about the wait at the bar. I thought that was excellent. A few days later, a manager asked me in the resort how I was doing. I mentioned the poor bar service and he said, “yes, we’ve had problems and we’ve spoken about not favouring people who put money in the bar.” He promised to feed back. On Wednesday 5th November, things hadn’t improved. People were waiting too long. It annoyed me a little. I found the ‘duty manager’ and raised my concerns again. In front of 5 friends he said, “No one has ever complained about our bar services. If you don’t like it, leave. In fact, I can get a taxi for you. We are a five star hotel.” Talk about embarrassing! The system for booking restaurants needs sorting. Long lines of people waited for an average of 35 minutes at 8:30 in the morning just to secure a place. If you weren’t there early, your chances of getting a reservation were next to nothing. One person taking bookings yet lots of staff around: clearly a management issue. That said, the buffet is of a good quality. There are loads of staff in this hotel. However there is clearly a ‘pecking order’ with the few people in key positions use their status to secure more tips. No tips. No service. We ended up paying every time we had a drink. The ‘other’ staff are delightful and very helpful. The housekeeper made our room sparkle. The main issue this hotel has is the management. It has all the customer care steps we’ve all come to expect with a vital difference. They don’t act on feedback at all. The rooms are very spacious. Ours needed updating but we were happy with it. I fixed one of the cupboards as the sliding door fell off when we opened it. I’d really try and look at other hotels. I’ve stayed in H10 hotels all over the world and, unfortunately, this hotel must be bottom of the heap. The holiday was fun because we went with friends and had a laugh. A couple? Not much to do, little entertainment, miles from Playa del Carman. Last comment ; do better guys, and speak to the duty manager. No one should say the things he said to me in the way he said it. He lets H10 down. Down for his hotel and the whole group. Research other hotels, this one is way below the standard other places set without effort and with a smile.
