    Awesome hotel

The rooms and whole hotel are kept spotless. The staff are excellent although little English is spoken. Food is very good. The band's that try to drown each other out are annoying. Loved being able to use facilities of the sister resorts. We will definately return.

    Holiday from hell

This place is not like a all inclusive. There was one buffet over run by pigeons, the food was gross we ate out off the resort. The pop machine was broke. The plates and utensils were plastic the pacifico was closed. The swim up bar was closed and the star palace opened 4 days in to our 8 days there only for breakfast. There is no coffee pots in the rooms we had ocean view no fridges. The beach chairs were broke and full of airship and the adult pool was full of kids. It was very loud the entertainment was Spanish karaoke every night and bar closed at 1230 we bought snacks and booze at the store down the road and to top if off the bus never came to pick us up for our flight. We had to get an Uber and paid alot of money for not a lot of good service like all inclusive should be. I DO NOT RECCOMEND!!

    Mis-informed

The ads on Westjet don't reflect the true aspects of this hotel at all. As others had said the hotel is run down. They tried to put us in a room that the previous guest had smoked in. It was gross. Tghey said they would clean it the next morning. We refused to stay in the room. They were quick to relocate us. The rooms not cleaned thoroughly. Then the noise. If you are looking to relax this is not the hotel you should be staying at. This is a full on Mexican Party spot. Go on their own website, they advertise the resort as a party destination. If you complain to the front as we did, they can move you to a sister hotel. After 2 days we did. Up the street a block to the Luna Palace. More oriented to older and quieter crowds. I am not blaming the Oceano for being a party hotel I just wish the vacation websites would inform people so you can make better decisions.

    Our most recent stay.

The pictures shown are not accurate, everything was run down and or damaged. The lounge chairs were broke and dirty. And most nights the music outside was so loud it was distorted.

    2nd visit not as good!

I will start my review with the fact that we are not fussy about a high class resort and love to stay at places in Mexico that have a mix of Mexican/Canadian and all tourists. This our 2nd time to the Palace resorts in Mazatlan and two years ago they got a 5 star review from both of us! However this year it has been a very different experience!! The staff are still amazing with Philipe still being here as the main bartender...he is awsome and knows our drinks and has them ready and on the table as we sit down. Our reservation states stay at one and play at all, however the first 6 days only 2 of the 4 resorts were open and we were not able to have breakfast or drinks at the Luna Palace this time, while we could in the past. On the 6th day they opened the Star Palace and now there are two al a carte options instead of 2 nights out of 6 the 1st week... On Fridays they offer a special al a carte at the Luna palace so we went early to enjoy the sunset with a drink...NO drinks until dinner starts! So much for stay and play at all of the resorts! Last time we booked at Star Palace, city view for 14 nights and got a nice upgrade to ocean front, this time we booked Oceano Palace city view for 14 nights and an awful room that didn't even have a window to open! I complained to the manager and they next day they moved us to a city view with a balcony and a fridge. It was a little better but to get ocean view we would have to pay an extra $450, which would equal the cost of going to the Riu like all the other Canadians on our flight did! Next time we will do the same!! I thought they would like to reward return visitors however it seems they do not want to welcome Canadians any longer! Shout out to the great staff- lobby bartenders: Philipe, Carlos, Louis, Diego The matre d at buffet Jesus Alfredo are all amazing and I am sure there are many others we have yet to meet. We still have a week left at the resort, so I will probably update later
