  Great beach, nice resort, Food is not good !!!!!

  Beach is great, resort is beautiful, rooms nice but food quality sucks . This review is based on comparison to many resorts across Caribbean and Mexico and regular travelers around the world . Review based on 7 day stay. Food (2 / 5) - no flavor at, recycled during the day, people mixing spoons and risk with cross contamination very high for people with allergies. Also some of the food looked unappealing - lying for a long time and seafood not on ice / ice melted. Restaurants were ok - Dominican restaurant was good, Mexican ok at best, steak decent, italian tolerable. Even Sante in reserve was not good, except for the breakfast. Christmas Eve dinner was good with lots of choices but again compared to some other places could be better. Service was ok at restaurants but not great in buffet where they seemed understaffed and not trained in customer service. I really wish management redo their entire food scene and food service and it will change the dynamic of this resort completely. Beach (5 / 5) - is great and they work really hard to keep it clean from sargassum. There are some great staff who make drinks and they were always friendly and we tipped them for it. Service by the beach was mixed - if u asked u got it but there was no proactiveness. Also if u spoke Spanish then there seemed to be a clear bias which may be just language comfort. However we enjoyed beach a lot, played lot of beach volleyball, long walks and swimming in the ocean . It is wonderful. Beach vendors come around but don’t really bother you if you say no. The hotel also had security around the beach which was comforting. Activities (3/5) - were planned for the day and evening but energy in resort seems a bit low Checking and concierge (5/5) - very helpful and friendly and he was always responsive to any texts and knowledgeable of what’s going on. He helped us with restaurant booking and recommendations and was a friendly face through the vacation. We had transportation via Otium (u have to go to the counter at airport) and it was seamless both ways Rooms (5/5) - stayed in reserve and were nice and they had a cheese plate and wine for us in arrival in reserve section. The room had nice balcony to relax when needed. The bathrooms were very clean and room service was good. I would recommend upgrading the comforter - would be a nice touch. We didn’t use room service but they stocked the fridge well with water, soft drinks and beer. The rooms in other section were also decent and seemed upgraded. All in all - we would love to be back but food scene will likely not result in a second trip as much as we want to be back for the beach.

  Kids Club Kidsdom

  Our kids are typically apprehensive to leave our side. They were absolutely obsessed with the kids club (kidsdom) from the second we got to the hotel. They loved all the staff members and activities; they actually preferred hanging there than with us! We couldn’t recommend coming here more, we had a great experience! Thank you to the loving and caring team who welcomed our children with open arms and kept them so busy and entertained!

  Update to Reserve

  We have been to 10+ all inclusive resorts and this was the best one by far. The Reserve, adult section was so worth the money. The food is amazing and many options. The beach is beautiful and the Reserve area has full beds. Rafael was our beach guy and he was outstanding. Our butler, Harry was great as he coordinated dinners and activities. We had a great server for the New Years Eve party but I can’t remember his name. He took care of table 127. Although it was a 5 overall, it would be nice to see workout classes like HIT. We will be back.

  Love Palma Real so much

  Hotel, staff, facilities, food, casino of the charts. Went golfing this year and it was amazingz. Anayely, Melvin, Jose at the front, Vanessa at the pool bar are like family

  Family trip

  Family trip in the middle of busy holiday season. The good: pools and beach very nice. Clean and a lot of space. Food decent no issues. The not so great, our concierge did nothing, I mean absolutely nothing. Would not respond to texts and was not able to book dinner reservations. I don’t want to even give his name I saw him once at check in. We managed on our own. The beach lounges, get rid of the old broken ones! Clean up the seating area on the beach. No reason why the broken furniture should be there. A bit annoying that the decent seating has an extra charge. I think we paid enough! Room, toss up, bathroom beautiful, living room very nice. But the bed, where are the decent linens and what is going on with the cheap pillows? It’s the little things that matter when traveling. Also, no turndown service, and if you want something get ready to wait. The phone keeps you on hold. Overall very beautiful place and one of the nicest resorts in the area. I still recommend despite these issues. Pretty decent activities, fun and lovely, if you want music main pool, for peace try one of the many pools connecting to the rooms. Very calming. Happy travels! Room recommendations, I think one of the swim out would be ideal. We usually upgrade but not this time.
