The Paradisus Palma Real is a beautiful resort. The rooms are spacious and it was nice to have an area to relax that was separate from the bedroom - especially nice when we were there during a significant amount of rain and couldn’t be outside as much as we would’ve liked. However, the all dining situation is odd. At check in we were given a pamphlet and told the hours for the Lunch Box, but it was closed the majority of our stay. For most of our meals we were forced to eat at Malva. We called the front desk a few days into our trip to verify the Lunch Box hours thinking that we misunderstood something, but it was confirmed that we had the right hours but that the Lunch Box was indeed just not open. We were told by the front desk that Malva was “the same”. Malva is significantly smaller than the Lunch Box and absolutely could not accommodate the same number of options as the Lunch Box. I am a picky eater and noticed that when the Lunch Box was open there was many more options that I would eat. When we were forced to eat at Malva I found myself eating the same few things on repeat since they did not have the large variety that the Lunch Box does. I can’t say for certain that we would return. For the high price tag, I dont feel like we got what we paid for given the main buffet was closed majority of our stay. The website also lists amenities such as a casino and shopping, but these are located at sister resorts and not directly on the Paradisus grounds. We loved many of the staff that we interacted with. Roseanna during breakfasts and lunches. Victor and Eddy at the Celcius bar. Victor at the Malva bar.

Emmanuel was so engaging and sincere. He came highly recommended by my cousin and we are so happy we got to meet him. His consideration and thoughtfulness is unending. We will always recommend him!

a solid 90%
90 of of a 100. Great resort. Great food, especially in the reserve buffet. Wonderful drinks all around. Jendry was especially good. His help made my stay amazing. The only issue is their preferred car service. Paid for a solo trip, the driver arrived 3 hours early and said he could not come back later. Ridiculous. I paid for a private ride, not when you feel like it.

With properties like this the expectations are high. There could be many pluses but one minus is enough to muddle the experience. I stayed three nights while attending a congress on premise. The hotel is not overly luxurious but you definitely feel you have stepped into something special. The common areas are open and spacious, with plenty of space to feel unique even on a busy event. The restaurants are awesome and you definitely need more than 3 nights to sample them all. One thing that annoys me is that as part of the regular buffet you don’t have access to any drinks, even in dispensers. You need to ask (and wait, sometimes longer than expected) for anything to drink, even water. It is also annoying that due to the layout of the hotel, you sometimes have to switch multiple times from closed walkways to open spaces. That doesn’t feel like much except when you are in the middle of a literal tropical storm and rains profusely for 4 straight days. The high note are the rooms. Spacious and full of details. However, the light system is extremely weird with multiple switches in strange spaces that turn on and off not the lights you would expect. The noise isolation is non-existent to the interior hallways. Any kind of noise gets into the room and amplifies. Finally, the service is not 5 stars, with some workers not looking happy or willing to serve. Overall a good stay but the cost/benefit relation can make me look elsewhere for another experience
