Would NOT recommend!
Room was dirty . Electric outlet did not work in bathrooms on and in the mail room. Refrigerator was licking. Pipe repair was going ., front desk had no idea how long it will be before they will stop . If you book with any special Promotion make sure to follow up on that during check in, they will not have that information or try to Pretend that they don’t see it.

Had high expectations, but was let down.
I really wanted my stay here to be fantastic. It sure looked good on paper. - Oceanfront -check! - Ocean facing balcony - check! - Fitness center -check! - onsite bar/restaurant -check! - pool and lazy river -check! - high speed internet -check! But here were some issues that made my stay problematic: 1) the high speed internet was NOT high speed. Per FCC guidelines in order to advertise that feature a hotel must provide speeds minimum of 25 mb, but typically 100 or higher is norm when a hotel advertises this and at other places I've stayed at. Pelican only provided 15 mb TOPS at any given time, so working and doing zoom video calls, and accessing data was very difficult and resulted in poor quality and dropped calls. The internet went out entirely sometimes, about once a day. Definitely telling people if you have to work during your stay, DON'T do it here. The internet is suitable to vacationing or checking emails only, not real work requiring real internet. 2) Towel hangers. The shower is at one end of the bathroom, but there is all this wall space by the shower with no place to put towels, no racks, or hooks, nothing, so you have to put your towel on the floor. The two towel hooks provided are across the bathroom. Poor design to have to drip all over the floor to get to your towels on the other side of the room. 3) Service at the OCEAN restaurant: The servers and greeters were EXTREMELY nice and very friendly. I'm not dinging them in anyway. The problem was how LONG it took to get greeted, get beverages, and food. I ate there daily for breakfasts and a few times for dinner too. Twice during the week, the food I ordered never came, another two times the wrong food was brought to me, and it took too long to get food cooked and always get the check to sign. It was never really busy either so it didn't make sense why it took so long, especially for simple things. I will commend the dinner meals were very tasty and the desserts superb! 4) Outside balcony door of our room was very difficult to open and close. It was super loud with the metal frame of door on bottom scraping against the metal frame of the bottom frame. You really had to force it to open or close. The door handle looked like it was about to fall off from previous people being unable to open/close it. It shouldn't have to take 2 people to open/close a door. 5) On two days of the stay, housekeeping didn't provide hand towels or wash cloth towels. When I asked both days, she said there were none to give. For the price paid to stay here, the hotel should have enough towels to provide guests a minimum of four towels not ZERO. There were good things too! A small cafe/ice cream shop inside offers gelato, and the coconut gelato was a nice daily treat! Having a beach umbrella, chairs, and table setup each day right on the beach was a huge plus, and drink service on the beach was quick and nice. Overall, it's a great place to stay if it's strictly a recreational stay with no constraints on time and how long things take, but I would definitely avoid it if it's a working stay as well.

No need to leave the resort, everything you need is right here.
I had the privilege of staying overnight at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort on the eve of my cruise, and I must say, it was a truly uplifting experience! I wish I had more time to soak in the serenity of this haven because it was indeed a pleasant stay. My son and I had the pleasure of dining at the O2K Lounge, located within the resort, and the food was simply delightful!! After dinner, we indulged in gelato from The Emporium Ice Cream Parlor, also conveniently located within the resort, and it was equally scrumptious. The lovely ladies at the front desk, Tashana, Nicole, and Merit, were beacons of helpfulness, graciously answering all my questions. All my love from the country bumpkin from KY. 💙

Well worth it.
The hotel is excellent, not cheap, but worth it. The employees where also excellent, courteous, and always willing to help. The room was huge, compared to other hotels. The cleanliness was outstanding everywhere in the hotel. I would honestly recommend. Thank you Pelican Grand for a great stay.

4 stars with some opportunities
2 opportunities... Don't tell guests that their room is ready, get their hopes up, and then allow them to wait until 5hrs later to allow them in their room. We had a beautiful oceanfront suite, next to the elevator. It wasn't bothersome until the early morning, 5am, and then it was difficult to sleep because that family was just the first of the early risers. Suggestion.....Pelican reminds their guests that rooms are near the elevators and speaking loudly isn't necessary. Or, request a room away from elevators. Beach is wonderful, pool staff was kind and attentive, room was clean and inviting. We will be back!
