    Ocean1000 Server Recognition

I dined at Ocean2000 during my stay and had Matthew as my waiter. Extremely personable, friendly, and had great recommendations. Props to you Matthew for incredible attention to detail and conversation!

    Awesome stay with private beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the pelican grand! Normally, after about 3 or 4 days at the beach, we are ready to go home, but not this time! The staff were all extremely courteous, and our beach server, John, was out of this world! He was very attentive, funny, prompt, and courteous. I have rarely received such good service as he provided! Our room was on the 10th floor in the center of the property and had a stunning view. We especially like the window that separated the sitting area from the sleeping area with its own privacy blind. We had some sargassum the week we were there, but the city cleaned it every day and made it not as bad as we had thought it might be. The beaches were kept very clean, and the water was clear and not too rough while we were here. The food we ordered from the beach was always delicious and promptly delivered (thanks, John). The beach set up crew always did a great job. We called down each morning, and by the time we walked down, our chairs and umbrella were set up and ready. The beach is private, so if you call down early you get a front row seat without having to worry about people coming and setting up in front of you. That was one of our favorite Parts about the resort. The only thing I could possibly give as a criticism was I felt $55 per day for parking was a bit much. They only offer valet parking there and don't have an airport shuttle, so you are sort of tied in. They do have a shuttle that will take you 15 minutes north or south of the property, so if you took an Uber from the airport to the resort, I guess that might offset. We booked through Costco, so we were able to avoid the resort fee, which they've just about $325 for the week. I have to say, for a beach vacation spot, this is pretty top-notch. There are a gazillion restaurants within 10 minutes of any direction. Beaches are clean and nice, staff is friendly and accommodating, and our vacation was super relaxing!

Superb hotel, right on the beach

It was our second time in this hotel and again we really enjoyed our experience, more so this time as the weather was perfect (last time we had storms so unfortunately couldn’t enjoy the beach and pool fully). We enjoyed great cocktails and snacks on the beach and a special mention for John who was tirelessly making sure everyone had iced water and whatever they needed! Yes it’s pricey (especially for Europeans not used to paying 55 dollars per night for valet parking for example) but the location is also great - you are right on the beach and personally, compared to other cities and hotels, I felt it was worth it. It was lovely to wake up early, grab a coffee and go for a walk on the beach. You are only a short Uber ride away from the River Walk and Las Olas Boulevard and we also enjoyed the Hugh Taylor State Park which is 5 minutes away

    PREMIUM COST —> LOW VALUE

Rundown resort with poor service from nearly everyone. John and Michael were the only two consistent, friendly, fast, and energetic staff we encountered, and they ran their tails off bringing drinks and food to the beach and pool. So of course they received extra tips. Ocean 2000 staff were the slowest, least attentive, unfriendly, unreliable of anyone we encountered. The food was subpar for the nearly $100 tab we racked up for pancakes, eggs and bacon. To not allow any outside food or drink and actually kick people out for bringing in Cane’s chicken when the service is so terrible and the food options are so limited and not great makes an already subpar experience even worse. There were not enough chairs or tubes for the pool or lazy river, so guests literally had to wait to use them. And don’t think you will have a peaceful swim or floating time in the lazy river. Both are tiny and not at all worth the high cost of the resort. Price gouging is PREVALENT at this resort. Expect to pay $50 per night to park a vehicle, or attempt to take the “FREE” shuttle that only takes you to certain places and makes you walk to a location down the street at 10 pm because it’s inconvenient to turn a corner. And that is, IF the shuttle is even available when you need it or IF it even travels to a location you want to go. Promises promises…. The 22% mandatory service charge on EVERY SINGLE BILL is a racket. This just breeds poor service, as the servers know they get their tips regardless of how they behave or whether they honor their responsibilities to serve you. The ice cream and tiny little “shop” - again offer subpar ice cream, coffee and other items at premium cost, and no good service there either. The rooms - there was a pube hair on our counter when we arrived. Come on. Clean the place! Grown men can’t fit in the tiny shower with curtains that envelope and attack you, covering you in filth you are trying to rinse off. Time to upgrade or lower your costs!! Don’t even think about trying to understand your folio when you check out or ask for help understanding what the heck to make of it! Check it EVERY DAY to be safe because we still don’t know what in the world we were charged for. Speaking of charging us - expect to pay for EVERYTHING. And expect to pay premium cost for even just a bottle of water. For a $56 daily resort fee, I expected much more from our stay. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to this place. Not quite sure what the draw is because I was absolutely eager to depart.

    Great Experience

We stopped in to eat at ocean 2000 7-29-25. We were seated outside on the porch area. The view was spectacular the food and drinks were top shelf. Matthew was our waiter he was FANTASTIC courteous and so attentive. We are in Ft Lauderdale often and we definitely will be back. Great Experience
