Worst Place to Go
I love to travel and try new resorts, but this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I have ever had. We booked Planet Hollywood Cancun to celebrate a milestone birthday for a friend, and nearly every aspect of the stay fell short. Our original room had humidity and mold in the bathroom, along with lighting and maintenance issues (none of the outlets worked). While the resort later confirmed the issues and offered an upgrade, that did not come close to resolving the overall experience. The issues were property-wide, not limited to one room. Throughout the full stay in either room we encountered wet bedding, stained towels, non-functioning outlets, dead bugs in our rooms after being "cleaned", and repeated maintenance problems. These issues were reported, and we did not get a resolution. The staff experience was the most frustrating part. Employees were consistently rude and visibly unhappy to be there. There was no sense of hospitality, care, or urgency—just indifference. It genuinely felt like guests were an inconvenience rather than the priority. To make matters worse, the birthday celebration was mishandled entirely. My travel agent notified the resort more than five times over the course of a month about the birthday. Despite this, nothing was prepared. I had to physically go to the desk during our stay and request anything, a cake, a banner, some acknowledgment, after the moment had already passed. After voicing our concerns, the resort claimed that the upgrade was a “fair resolution” and then stopped responding altogether when we explained why it wasn’t. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. Planet Hollywood Cancun failed on maintenance, service, hospitality, and follow-through. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Family Time, At, The Planet Hollywood - second trip
Second time add the Planet Hollywood Cancun for me and my family. Last time we were here was in 2022 and resort has been well maintained since then. The rooms have some minor issues in terms of quality. Examples couple drawers, broken fixtures, not properly aligned but overall, those are wearing tear challenges that are coming with a very busy resort. The quality of the food is good. The variety is OK nothing super fancy but nothing wrong either versus many other five star resorts. You get what you pay for and Planet Hollywood plans to give you a little bit extra if you’re willing to pay :) Make sure you bring extra cash for on-site, gratuities, and service fee. It will serve you at the restaurants and other places of the resort in exchange of good service and quality attention. Special thanks to Edgar in the restoration department, shout out to Marco at the star section pool for his service and support, Miguel and Lily for the service at the pool and Ismael at the Italian restaurant by far the best servers on site Thanks again for a great time Planet Hollywood team

Worst Resort I have been to in a long time
This was my fourth trip to Cancun, and I usually choose a different resort each time to compare experiences. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst resort I have stayed at. It’s more than a 50 minute ride from the airport and let’s say the roads are rough, no smooth driving. Check-in & Butler Service We booked Star Class rooms, which include priority check-in. Despite this, check-in took over an hour, while the regular line was moving quickly. After check-in, we were told our butler would meet us to escort us to our room. We waited another 30 minutes, then were told the butler would meet us directly in the room. The butler never showed up. At check-in, they ask for your alcohol preferences and promise one bottle delivered to your room. That we only received 3 days later. Our room smelled strongly of mold. When we called to complain, we were told it was “humidity” and that it would go away — it did not. Because of all the delays, we lost almost the entire first day of our vacation. Food & Restaurants The buffet was extremely average. Nothing stood out. The pasta station sauces were watered down, meats were dry, and the offerings (tacos, seafood, burgers) felt low quality. The à la carte restaurants were mostly disappointing: • Sutra (Indian) – excellent, the best restaurant on the resort • East (Japanese) – good • All others – poor food quality and very long wait times We were there on Christmas Eve, and the holiday dinner was terrible — turkey, steak, and risotto were all poorly prepared. Pool & Star Class Area Star Class guests have a designated pool area, which should be a premium experience. On our first morning, we arrived around 8:00 AM and every lounge chair was “reserved” with towels, goggles, or personal items — not a single person was actually there. I asked the pool concierge if there was space. He said no. Moments later, after seeing me take out $5, he told me to wait, removed items from a couple of chairs, and suddenly space was available. Later in the week, I learned that it was the butler himself reserving chairs and releasing them only if tipped. His name was Marco. This was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The same thing happened with restaurants — if reservations were “full,” suddenly a $20 tip would magically produce a table. This behavior turns an all-inclusive resort into a pay-to-get-service experience, which should not be acceptable. At other resorts I’ve stayed at, this is strictly discouraged. Beach Nice white sand beach, plenty pf space but not enough umbrellas. Not much service either. Spa One positive experience was the spa. I received a 50-minute massage for $149, which, although expensive, was very good and professionally done. Wi-Fi HORRIBLE Final Thoughts I will not be returning to this resort. The constant expectation of tipping for basic services, poor food quality, lack of organization, and overall feeling of being taken advantage of completely ruined the experience. The only real positives were the sunny weather and the massage Trip typeVacation · Family Rooms2.0Service1.0Location3.0 Hotel highlightsKid-friendly RoomsHorrible, smelly, so much humidity you feels like the bed sheets are wet Nearby activitiesThey have nice flow river, have a lot of activities for kids SafetySafe WalkabilityA lot of walking Food & drinksFood horrible Drinks not bad Noteworthy detailsHorrible Wi-Fi

Butler service is a must!
IGNACIO the butler was phenomenal. Maximo (buffet manager) & Pedro (? - one of the breakfast/lunch chefs) were wonderful accommodating my daughter’s celiac needs. We’re very grateful to the 3 of them. All restaurants took Gluten Free seriously, other than Guy’s Burger Place which is not safe at all due to cross contamination (the chef didn’t eve wash hands when assembling the GF burger after assembling 100 regular burgers. Not many GF options, but my daughter didn’t get sick. Beach was nice. Pools too, but not heated.
