Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay (PBEB) has been our favorite vacation resort and it breaks my heart to write this review. Like my previous reviews I have some good news and some not so good news. My wife and I are timeshare owners there. We and several friends have been going there for many, many years. Let me start with the GOOD NEWS. The resort is located on a gorgeous coast with stunning sunsets. The resort has great staff and food. Everyone is so polite and friendly. The check-in staff are personable and professional. The Elite staff Erick, Melissa, David, Andriana, and Remi are also top notch. They do a great job taking care their customers. The adult pool staff of Jose, Rafael, and Angel do a super job taking care of food and drink orders. Jose works tirelessly and is really great guy. And at the main pool Jose-Louis, Alberto, Julio, and Martin do a super job taking care of us all day long. The lobby is very spacious and elegant. The ambiance of the resort is very tropical and relaxed. Kelley’s bar is a beautiful hangout. The resort is steeped in Mexican architecture and patina. The gym and spa are also outstanding. The messages are soooo good. We have come to know a lot of the restaurant wait staff too. Sergio, Susanna, Claudio, Victor, Dario, Jairo, and so many others take great care of their customers. And Adrianna at the omelet station always greets you with a beautiful smile and warm greetings. We captured several great sunsets from the La Cordelier and Emerald Sushi restaurants. The food is very good. They need to bring back the old hot dogs, they were the best. I’m pleased to report they brought back the skinny french fries. The Emerald Sushi restaurant is outstanding. Anabella is always there to greet you with her beautiful smile. The food is served quick and is outstanding. Emerald Sushi tied with Angelo’s as our favorite PB restaurant. The staff at Angelo’s are exceptional. Ikar, Javier, and others I can’t recall their names are truly professional wait staff. Now for the NOT SO GOOD part of the review. I wish I could give the resort five stars like it was years before but it’s really showing its age. We have been told by the resort for many years they are going to remodel the resort. Unfortunately our room in the condos was in very poor condition. The Villas are in pretty good shape, but they are starting to show a little age too, especially around the private pool area. They have remodeled the La Cordelier restaurant and it is very nice. They are currently remodeling the Bistro restaurant. I recognize we were at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay resort during their dry season, but the trees, shrubs, and other ground vegetation are in very, very sad condition. We love this resort. Over the years we have come to love Mazatlán and its people. We have made many friends with locals and other timeshare owners. Many of the PBEB staff remember us and are quick to say hey and give us a hug, they have become our friends. It is so disheartening to see the resort decline because it really used to be a jewel of a resort.

PB Emerald Bay is our absolute favorite resort in Mazatlan. We have come here five times in four years. The grounds are stunning! There are sweeping views of the Pacific and lush vegetation surrounding the picturesque accommodations. We love to spend our days at the adult pool. Jose and Angel are the best bartenders/servers! They are personable and happy to take care of us. Kelly’s is a great evening hang-out. The special dinners, Shrimp Night and Grill Night, are so very good! Alejandro is our favorite server in Kelly’s. He goes above and beyond to make our visits the best-ever! His enthusiasm and charisma make him the life of the bar! While at PB Emerald Bay, we also frequently go to the PB Mazatlan property and visit Cilantro’s. The view from this restaurant is stunning. Antonio is an amazing server at this eatery. He is attentive and wants nothing but the best for our experience. PB Emerald Bay is a truly unique experience!

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay
We stayed at this resort last week. The rooms were in need of a little maintenance but I must say that they were immaculate and cleaned daily including washing all floors. The grounds are lush like a jungle and very pretty. The pool area is beautiful. We really enjoyed water aerobics with Jordan! He was great. And so was Evelyn. My husband played water volleyball and Evelyn did a great job with the play by play. We did not have the all-inclusive so we left the restaurant hungry a couple times as the prices are high and the portions are small. But we did enjoy their omelets for breakfast. I believe this is the nicest resort in Mazatlan.
