Tired, run down, filthy, do not stay here
I am writing to share serious concerns following a recent stay at the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados between 5th and 15th May 2025. The experience was deeply disappointing due to multiple issues relating to cleanliness, maintenance, customer service, and unresolved charges. The room was in a poor and unacceptable condition – extremely outdated, worn, and lacking proper upkeep. The bathroom was particularly concerning, with visible limescale and grime in the shower, a stained and dirty bathtub, and even a cockroach sighting. These conditions fall far below what is expected of a hotel at this price point and significantly impacted the overall stay. A major safety issue was the shower, which fluctuated unpredictably between freezing cold and scalding hot, making it nearly impossible to use safely or comfortably. Despite being reported, the problem was never resolved – and it appears to be a recurring complaint among guests. The air conditioning unit was oddly placed on the floor, leaked water, emitted a strong damp smell, and released a strange, potentially toxic odour. This raised concerns about both hygiene and respiratory safety. Customer service also left much to be desired. Only two glasses were provided in the room – which were being used to hold toothbrushes – and a simple request for a third glass was denied by housekeeping, citing a policy of “only two per room.” This rigid approach felt petty and unwelcoming, especially given the overall condition of the hotel. The wider hotel grounds showed visible signs of neglect. Paint was peeling, balconies were in disrepair, and the pool was both small and poorly maintained. The overall property appears to be suffering from long-term underinvestment. Several other guests voiced similar complaints during the stay, suggesting that these issues are not isolated. To add to the frustration, a refund for a $160 plug adapter deposit and a $500 hotel room deposit has still not been received, despite assurances it would be. The only charge that should have applied was the city tax. The delay in returning these funds caused unnecessary financial strain during the remainder of the trip. This stay has seriously undermined trust in the Radisson brand. I hope Radisson senior management take these concerns seriously and urgently review the condition and operations of this property. I would not recommend this property at all!

Stayed here for a week with my family in January as a last minute surprise. The outside of the hotel first impression looks like it’s falling down and is in disrepair and needs to shut down. The inside is much nicer and the rooms ok but smells of damp. We only ate at the hotel a few times as it was so expensive but the food was good. Swimming pool is not that big and rather run down. The beach area is like Blackpool on a bank holiday weekend, absolutely packed with people with little privacy. The sand is clean as is the sea but just to busy for me, would never recommend or return to even at a fraction of the price.

Fabulous stay , best location and wonderful staff❤️
Had a fabulous holiday here first week of April2025 We were hesitant booking due to reading the online reviews, however we are so glad we went for it. The staff here have been amazing from the friendliest welcome at check in , to everyone we have come into contact with throughout our stay, they all go above and beyond with their customer service . The location is fantastic , in my opinion right on the best beach on the island. Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, Infact we have managed to get one every day at all different times. People do tend to reserve them early morning and not come down till later but it didn’t seem to affect us finding one. Shane The Beach attendant is so helpful always smiling and checking in to make sure everyone’s ok. You can swim under jetty for a fab walk along Carlisle bay . Fab “Bali beach bar “ 2 mins along beach with a dj for cocktails and great food. Our room was well cleaned every day , with fresh towels and restocked with coffee and complementary water . We had a fantastic view of pebbles beach and the sunset. Beds are really comfortable and each had 4 comfy pillows on . Rooms are really quiet , we did not hear anyone else in other rooms or the corridor throughout our stay. Fridge in room was great to store some drinks in which was an added bonas. If you do not mind overlooking the dated areas and places around the hotel needing some tlc and renovations , give it a go , what it lacks in visual and finesse it makes up for in location and fabulous customer service. We will be returning in June for another longer stay 😁 Our only complaint whilst staying would be the 🚿 , just couldn’t get the temperature right either scalding hot or freezing cold which I get the impression is an ongoing issue in the hotel.

The Amount you pay is not worth it
The location is pretty great and its right on the beach, I was upgraded coz they had overbooked and they couldn't find my reservation The hotel is quite old the air con makes a lot of noise at night I was charged a withholding amount of 225 usd which is still not refunded, although they have been in contact with me all along but its still have not been returned. I will change the rating to 6 probably if I can get my refund which as this is Radisson should never happen in the first place.

Beautiful views but old hotel
Like everyone else said old worn out hotel needs to be renovated. However, the service and everyone at the hotel were very nice. We had no issues with any special requests such as extra towels or help with a taxi or even exchanging USD for Barbadian dollars. Just wished public areas were much nicer. The staff at the beach were also all very nice and accommodating made us felt like home.
