Ask for César the bellman!!!!
Mr. César the bellman was probably one of the sweetest people I have ever met! I am learning Spanish and he challenged me to converse with him in Spanish and taught me new words that I did not know. You can tell that he is passionate about making sure those that come through these halls have a wonderful care free experience. Te amo Mr. César!!! <3

Come for the Private Island
Our family of four visited the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort for the second time in August 2025, staying for two nights on this visit. We stayed at the Marina property as we had one teenager in our group. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They did look a bit dated with some odd design choices, resulting in several "that's odd" chuckles (but no "get me out of here" reactions). Unfortunately, the loud family staying next door was easily heard through the connecting door. I learned, for example, they ate too much breakfast one morning, and they could not agree on whether to go to the pool or the beach the next. A big plus was the surprisingly well-equipped kitchenette in one of our two rooms. Microwave, two refrigerators, dual electric burners, multiple pots and pans, silverware, dishes, glasses, coffee maker, and sufficient cooking utensils. One could cook simple meals in the room. Our second room was not well-equipped, with no burner or cooking equipment. Appears that one cannot count on being assigned a room that will allow cooking. Wow, the check-in took forever, almost 45 minutes. The staff were wonderful - polite and helpful, but the process of checking in was overwhelmed by too many people at once, and the number of staff was insufficient. Additionally, the process of filing out forms and entering information seemed endless. The highlight of the hotel, and by far the primary reason to stay here, is the private island. Walk to the nearby dock and board a fast boat to the island (everyone in your party needs to bring a room key to board the boat). The island is fantastic, with a family beach area and an adult beach area. Visit with and feed the flamingos. Enjoy the protected, shallow swimming area with various tropical fish swimming with you. Relax on a lounge chair and watch many types of birds fly by. There are multiple iguanas near the dock where the boat drops you off. The food was surprisingly good at the cafe, though the service was agonizingly slow. The drawback of the private island is that you cannot pop back to your room if you forgot something or need to take a call for work, but our family loved spending time there. We had dinner at L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House, which was excellent. Convenient self-parking was available. There are a Starbucks and a Dunkin' Donuts very close by if that is a draw for you, as well as a lot of shopping options in downtown Oranjestad.

Aruba is paradise
This is such a beautiful and awesome resort. We have stayed at several other resorts in Aruba and the Renaissance is still our favorite. Santuscha at Fresco is our favorite employee who brings joy to her guests each and every day.

Great Location & Amazing Staff, But Some Misses
Room – 3/5 I’m a Titanium member, so I usually get those sweet nightly upgrades, except this time I was on a family rate, and it seemed like that room category wasn’t eligible. I got stuck on the second floor, looking in at the atrium and Starbucks on the same level as check-in. I did ask to move, but was told they were fully booked for my four-night stay. It’s okay, just not ideal. Hopefully next time I’ll get luckier. Lobby Bar – 5/5 This deserves its own spotlight. The bar crew: Joanne, Nelson, Brian, Randly, Peter, and a couple others I know I’m forgetting, absolutely made the stay! Pool & Vibe – 3.5/5 The pool is fine, not a wow factor, but they have a DJ from 6–9 pm daily. Friday night’s DJ being the beat. Wish he played more often. Location – 4/5 Super convenient. The hotel sits in a mall complex over the marina. I stayed on the adult side, which I preferred. You can walk across or take the little shuttle over to the family side, which is beachfront. Best of both worlds. Gym – 2.5/5 The gym is on the family side, which was a hassle to get to from the adult side. Perks – 4/5 Flamingo Island access is included if you’re staying here, and that alone is a win. Such a perk compared to other hotels on the island. Resort Fee Credit – 2/5 I was told there’d be a $50 daily credit with the resort fee, but that never happened. Feels like a miscommunication, but it was disappointing. Front Desk – 4/5 Kimberly and Maya at the front desk were great, super helpful and friendly. Birthday Extras – 3/5 This was a birthday trip. My mom had flowers sent to the room, which was really sweet. I let the staff know it was my birthday, but unlike other Renaissance/Marriott stays, there wasn’t any little gesture from the hotel. Not expected, but usually something they do. LG Smith’s Steakhouse – 5/5 Having LG Smith’s right there was a huge win. I had dinner there, and if you’re staying at the Renaissance, I really encourage you to go. Sit at the bar with Mark and Erwin, the bartenders are amazing and make the whole experience. The food is excellent, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Overall Thoughts I’d land this stay right around 3.7 to 4.2, leaning closer to a 3.8 / 5. Great location, an outstanding bar team, and the steakhouse are big wins. The misses for me were the room placement, gym location, and the resort fee credit issue. Still, I’d come back, just with a few adjustments next time.

Joc the bartender is the best at the pool bar!
The Aruba Renaissance Oceanside pool bar called Pole bar since it is the best spot on the island. I recommend asking for Joc at the pool bar. He is the best server and always makes the nicest drinks! He’s really friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place to be on the island.
