  Beautifully manicured.

  Girls week away! Much needed stress free environment. All of us needed to relax after a very difficult year.

  Beautiful resorts, with some improvements needed

  RIU was beautiful, and everything you needed was there. The food was incredibly good, and the ground were meticulously kept. The staff was very friendly. The actual accomodations (IE the hotel rooms) were in need of upkeep. We went with 5 different couples. All 5 rooms had issues immediately upon arrival. AC's not working, WIFI not working, Safe Malfunctions, Doors not locking, key cards not working, and power plugs in the room not having power, or being so worn out plugs just fell out of the sockets. We had only ONE plug that worked and we had to tape the plug into the socket every night. So needless to say, keeping your phone charged was a challenge. The WIFI dropped every day as well. For the WIFI situation, I don't think it's fair to blame RIU. It's more likely the infrastructure within the country and dealing with that realistically. Also, I was on vacation so I wasn't trying to use my device or anything very often. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip. The one thing I wish was that they didn't allow smoking all over the place...it's gross. The only other thing I didn't like was the "artisans" that wander around peddling their crappy arts and crafts. They're everywhere. You can't sit for 5 minutes or walk 5 steps without being asked to stop and talk and purchase something. It's not very relaxing to be harassed constantly, frankly.

  Amazing trip to paradise

  This was an amazing hotel from start to finish there are tons of different places to eat at all times, so many pools everywhere with swim up bars, the housekeepers always had the room clean when I put the sign on my door, so many activities for anyone kids, single adults, couples this resort had everything for an amazing trip I will definitely be coming back soon!

  Nice vacation

  We stayed at the same hotel 4 times in the last 5 years. That fact speaks by itself. We love the beach and the nice, friendly and family oriented resort.

  Golden Years chronicle!

  Pillows are the least of my concern….. We have been to quite a few resorts in the Caribbean, and elsewhere, but Riu Bambu we would not return to!! While we had great service from the dining room, bar, serving, room service, and front staff, it’s the state of the facility that was of concern. Broken tiles in pools and pool layback chairs; unclean water in the pools - one of our group went in the bar pool to get a drink and came out with his shirt bleached a light color! The staff had to get everyone out of the bar pool one day to put buckets of chemical in it. The railing to our second floor was rusted off the posts and our balcony screen door was on a 45-degree angle. 8 of our 12 group members developed Montezuma’s Revenge - we think food from the cold cuts area - , and 5 came home with severe lung infections that have gone on for 2 weeks now with no end in sight. 95% of the beach chairs have many years of obvious body oil stains that turned the blue to dark blue/brown, and many have broken parts. No nightly entertainment on site…. Seniors do not want to walk a mile to see a show at one location for all 4 side-by-side Riu resorts. All Riu Bambu photos are photoshopped. Reality is so far removed from what we see online. We made the best of our time at the resort. Ocean dips were great! Riu Bambu? Go somewhere else!
