We have had a blast. The staff is amazing, the hotel is beautiful and clean. The food and drinks are really good. We have only good things to say about this hotel and highly recommend it!

Pleasant stay
A very nice and comfortable hotel, beautiful, green garden, beautiful beach, no problem with sunbeds on the beach or by the swimmimg pools, nice pool bars, and tasty drinks, including these no alco. Nice staff. Large apartments, with two bathrooms. Interesting evening animations, but sometimes bit too loud. Hotel definitely worth recommending.

Solid 3star resort - “Okay” Food, but Service and Amenities were horrible. We recently stayed at the RIU during the off-season and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations for a "5-star" experience. Due to Air Canada being on strike we had to choose vacation packages offered and highly recommended by Sunwing. It’s definitely at good price point comparatively but I would neither be recommending this chain of resorts nor coming back of them Pros: * Buffet Selection & Food Quality: The buffet offered a good variety of food, I was impressed with the freshness and taste of the dishes, though it lacked some variety. If you’re not into the buffet, the resort only offers à la carte dining, which operates on a first-come-first-served basis with very limited. we were almost forced to dine at the buffet regularly. If you are looking for budget friendly family vacation with some downtime this might be for you Cons: * Service: Unfortunately, service was one of the biggest disappointments. Staff were not attentive, and at times especially by the front desk. It's clear the service level was not up to the standards I expected for a so-called 5-star resort. * Room Conditions: There were bugs and tiny lizards in our room (nothing too alarming, but still not pleasant), and the elevators were frequently out of service forcing us to take stairs. This really detracted from the overall experience and wasn’t something I anticipated even at this price point.Especially after excursions and long walks it feels good to easily access your room and sleep in your bed without worrying some other creature living in it. * Limited Amenities: The resort didn’t offer the full range of amenities I was hoping for. we weren’t able to get a late check-out during the slower season, which was frustrating. Other 5-star resorts I've stayed at have been more accommodating in this regard. There no food round the clock. After 11pm until 7am you are stuck with snack bar which is cold deli sandwiches. Pools are not cleaned regularly. Limited selection of drinks at the pool. Too many renovations and tripping hazards * Tours and Excursions: If you’re planning to take excursions outside the hotel, be warned that they are run by Xcaret group, which is a good company, but the tour guides don’t speak English. This is a huge inconvenience for non-Spanish-speaking visitors like us. We were told all our trips included food but we were starved!! to our surprise few of them offered no food at all and others provided bread and deli meat for breakfast on a three hour ride

Fabulous experience at Riu Dunamar
We had a wonderful time at RIU Dunamar! The entertainment was great and I love that it is outside instead of inside a theatre! Lots of pool options, beach was gorgeous, water park was a ton of fun! Pools were a little too warm in the afternoon but you can’t really help that given the climate! Beds were so comfortable! Buffet was fabulous. We will return!
