  Still Good, but with some issues

  The new issue was small insects in the room that harmed my little son. The staff wasn't helpful. Then the coffee machines were off too often. The service staff at the buffet tried to serve (get some tips) those who already had a meal instead of prioritizing cleaning tables for those waiting to be seated. Food quality dropped a bit compared to 2025, and prices increased by 25-30%. That's a sharp price increase.

  RIU Dunamar could be better

  My husband, daughter and I stayed for 6 days. The biggest disappointment was the food. The breakfast buffet had the best food at the resort. Everything else was not good. We went off the property to eat authentic Mexican food. The only lunch was at Pepe’s Grill who’s is just hamburger or hot dog with fries. Pretty awful tasting. The alcohol was low quality. I finally found a drink I liked on day 4 which was the Mai tai. The only beer is Dos Xx. The resort itself is nice. They were always cleaning the lobby and common areas. The room was clean. The pools were clean. Staff was friendly but I would not go back. The food quality was a huge disappointment.

  Be cautious

  Riu Dunamar is a beautiful resort, beautiful beach, good food. Most of the staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Very nice pools, a beautiful splash pad & water park for the kids. We did not use the kids park, no kids with us. The rooms were very nice & well stocked. Now for the issue, very loud booming music every night for approximately 7pm to 11 to 11:30pm. It was difficult to sleep. On Wednesday evinings they have a Big dance party, 7 to 11:30. They say it finishes at 11, not when we were there. The thing is we did not know any of this woud be going on every night. We only knew it happened on Wednesday night. They said we could have asked to change rooms. Well you don't know what you don't know till it's too late. Avoid any rooms around or on top of the stage. It's really unfortunate, it spoiled our trip. It's a fairly expensive place to stay. we won't ever go back.

  Excellent stay!

  This is my 4th Riu stay. Dunamar is a lovely property with direct beach access that isn't so sprawling that getting around feels like work. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed a number of RiuStage and RiuFit activities as well. Just note that it is further out of the hotel zone, but nothing a cheap uber can't fix.

  Enjoyable Stay

  Good time. All in all food was good. Gourmet was the better of the restaurants, followed by italian. Wish there were better guidelines for the buffets, seeing kids pick up sushi, sniff it and put it back. I realize it's a parenting issue, but they are left to run unsupervised everywhere, so probably would do adults only next time. Would love to see cream for coffee as an option, it's only milk everywhere. Blancas in the sports man makes the most amazing cappucinos. What a great guy. Had to wait a REALLY LONG time for the shuttle at the airport booked directly through the hotel. By the time we got our bags, it took 3 hours to finally get to our room. I don't find that acceptable, ride is about 50 mins; rest of the time was waiting. Very hard beds, but beautiful ocean view.
