Giving a 4 star because of the staff's effort and service by keeping the property as clean as they can, service was great, rooms are as simple as can be, nothing wow or special about them, but clean, beds and pillows are ok, restaurants and buffet are ok, nothing to highlight , nothing special to mention. We were there for a week for Christmas and was expecting at least a special menu or anything for that matter to underline the occasion like any other 5 star resort would. Not even a Christmas worthy show. The entertainment crew are really cool and try hard but man oh' man they need a new plan because playing bingo same time everyday is kind of boring, not even games in the pool or challenges or anything what so ever to " entertain " lol . Waterslides are really cool, the whole family enjoyed it. The only thing that angers me is the fact that this place is classified 5 stars when it's DEFINITELY a 4 star resort . Had I known, I would of booked a real 5 star resort. So be careful if you know what I mean. Don't get there expecting the perks of a real 5 star because it's NOT, however, I'm not saying it's not a nice place, it really is, just over classed so unless you get a super good deal, don't pay the price of a real 5 star. Oh, and PLEASE be sure that your room is not above or near the disco because you sleep until 2am , we were on the top floor and was dancing in our beds because of the music and vibrations felt and heard in the room 🤣

All was good, the only incovenient thing was the fact that on site restaurants did not use the systems of other RIU's hotels to book slot on the Riu app instead first come, first served which people where queing for hours at some restaurants.

Exceptional Christmas stay
I was part of a large group of 16 that travelled from England arrived on the 19th dec for Christmas The hotel was well decorated with big trees for the Christmas feel Mainly older children with us but for younger ones absolutely brilliant Check in was quick and easy for us I was in room 2049 which overlooked the roof and had partial sea view. I didn’t spend much time in the room. We had a huge queen size bed which was very comfortable. The food in my opinion was superb. A lot of choice, changed daily but there was a spine of the same thing. The salads were amazing. The hashbrowns at breakfast time were very popular and for good reason The resort is huge and plenty of seating and loungers never an issue Rene Adriano and Nahun were top guys at the adult swim up bar I think called the mezcal on the far left I tipped a dollar or two every other drink and also for the cleaners and staff in the restaurants I found all staff to be very friendly. The resort is spotless and the cleaners work tirelessly The beach is stunning and I enjoyed turning right and walking 30 mins past other hotels each morning. The only two kind of negatives, the entertainment was ok at best but that’s just my opinion and you are kind of out of the way from anything, 30 min taxi ride At sunset goto the 4th floor at the front of the hotel for amazing views. Visit Isla mujeres! Go early and spend the day Overall I loved my visit, highly recommended this hotel and my party all felt the same Thank you to all at the dunamar I will 100% be returning one day

It's good for a family trip.
The male employee who helped with check-in in the lobby and the bespectacled woman who serves at the bar during the performance are very kind.

Quick trip to Cancun
This hotel is exactly what I expected, for the money it cost. It was an overall value. You have to understand the food isn’t going to be great, but the staff the surroundings and the cleanliness were very good. Yes the room does have a bit of a smell to it. I would bring some sort of air freshener if you could. I’m sure it’s a product of being in all that humidity most of the year. I would recommend this to budget conscious travelers because the grounds are beautiful, the ocean was beautiful, the pools and the pool areas are well done and the hotel is very nice. The food can be better, but the food can usually be better anywhere you go.
