  Quick trip to Cancun

  This hotel is exactly what I expected, for the money it cost. It was an overall value. You have to understand the food isn’t going to be great, but the staff the surroundings and the cleanliness were very good. Yes the room does have a bit of a smell to it. I would bring some sort of air freshener if you could. I’m sure it’s a product of being in all that humidity most of the year. I would recommend this to budget conscious travelers because the grounds are beautiful, the ocean was beautiful, the pools and the pool areas are well done and the hotel is very nice. The food can be better, but the food can usually be better anywhere you go.

  Enjoy Paradise

  The Dunamar is warm and welcoming. It is immaculate and the staff are always cleaning. The service is excellent. We truly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommmend the spa.

  Zero Rest, Poor Food, and Constant Noise! Book somewhere else.

  This was one of the most disappointing resort experiences we have ever had. The food was consistently poor, bland, uninspired, and clearly low quality. The buffet offered the same repetitive options day after day, and even then, food was often empty or not replenished in a timely manner, especially at breakfast. Cleanliness in the buffet area was unacceptable, and it was obvious the space was severely understaffed. The à la carte restaurants were slightly better, but only in comparison to the buffet—overall, they still fell far below any reasonable standard for a resort of this price point. The only redeeming feature of the property is the beach, which is genuinely beautiful. Unfortunately, that alone cannot make up for the rest of the experience. Any expectation of rest or relaxation was completely destroyed by the resort’s baffling design choices. The beds are rock-hard and extremely uncomfortable. Worse still, the on-site nightclub is located directly beneath guest rooms, resulting in deafening bass vibrations every night from approximately 11:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. We paid extra for an ocean-view room and were effectively punished for it, as the noise was unavoidable and relentless. Adding insult to injury, when we visited the nightclub, there were fewer than twenty people inside. The resort knowingly disrupts the sleep of hundreds of guests to cater to a small group of intoxicated patrons. This is wildly inconsiderate and entirely inappropriate for what is marketed as a family-friendly resort. Sleeping through walls that physically vibrate from bass is not a reasonable expectation for any guest, let alone families. This resort prioritizes nightlife over guest comfort, food quality, and basic hospitality. We would not return and cannot recommend it to anyone seeking rest, value, or a truly relaxing vacation. Don't be fooled by the 5-star rating. It is a 3.5 at best. We will never stay at a RIU again!

  Bed Really Made Things Rpygh

  Resort was great and had good value. The grounds are clean and the workers pleasant. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on for a resort in this class. Really puts a hamper on the week. When you don’t sleep well on vacation, it really leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

  Wonderful Stay with Excellent Hospitality – Few Suggestions for Improvement

  We had a truly memorable experience staying at RIU Palace Hotel, Mexico. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding. As a lovely surprise, we received a complimentary upgrade from RIU Dunamar to RIU Palace, which made our vacation even more special. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming. All staff members were extremely polite, helpful, and professional. We were greeted with refreshing welcome drinks, which immediately made us feel relaxed and valued as guests. We had booked an all-inclusive package, and the airport pickup service was very well managed. The staff assisted us with loading and unloading all our luggage, making the arrival experience stress-free. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and well maintained. All necessary amenities were provided, including shampoo, bath gel, towels, and daily housekeeping. The minibar was stocked with cold drinks, and there was also a wide variety of hard drinks available (though we did not consume alcohol, so cannot comment on quality). One small suggestion regarding the room design: The bathtub is placed inside the room, and when used, water tends to spill out, making the room area wet and muddy. It would be better if the bathtub was inside the bathroom area or if there were a proper drainage solution to allow water to flow out easily. This would greatly improve comfort and safety. The pool facilities were excellent—clean pools, good towel service, and drinks available at all times. Multiple pool options and bar services made it easy to relax and fully enjoy the vacation. The café area was amazing, offering a wide range of beverages, cookies, brownies, cakes, pastries, and many delicious options for both adults and children. The drink menu included a large variety of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. For lunch and dinner, the hotel offers an extensive selection of food, especially non-vegetarian dishes. As we are pure vegetarians, we felt that vegetarian options—particularly Indian vegetarian food—were limited. We strongly recommend adding a few Indian veg dishes for Indian guests. However, there were still plenty of choices such as fruits, fresh juices, yogurt, pancakes, pizza, noodles, eggs, pasta, pastries, and more, so we managed our meals comfortably. The entertainment and activities were outstanding. There were daily pool activities, evening stage shows, and dedicated kids’ programs.
