The staff were incredible, super friendly and bilingual. The food was absolutely delicious. The workers are constantly cleaning. We travelled with our one year old and they had the hotel room set up with a crib when we arrived, we didn’t even have to ask! We would definitely return!

Great Trip
We visit this resort for the first time in January this year. Overall very happy and we have decided that we will return next year. My fiancé’s family has been to the RIU Emerald Bay for 4 years in a row previously. The staff was all great, we were happy with our room and the food overall. The pools and beaches were great, the booze excellent and was not watered down. The beaches were excellent, we didn’t have to wait or hunt for a chair. On the beach past the resort line were vendors which were not overly pushy. However, the brass bands were obnoxious on the beach. They are not part of the resort and there would be 3 playing at a time super loud out front of the resort. It was cute for a minute but then just ridiculously loud and annoying. One thing that would have made the trip better would be if they had room service like any other resort we have stayed. Overall very happy ::)

Beautiful Resort!
This is the first time I’ve visited Mexico and it was absolutely amazing! The resort was well laid out, clean, comfortable and well staffed. Everything from the bar staff to the servers, the service was incredible and there is always staff around if you need help! The only thing that could improve is the entertainment and night life options, the entertainment was alittle lack luster.

The cleanest resort I’ve ever been to. Service was fabulous. Plenty of pool loungers, food was good. My only complaint, you can hear everything between the rooms in the new part. But it really is a Beautiful place!!

elevators
This was my 3rd year in a row, staying at the Rio Emerald Bay in Mazatlan. I like most things at this property with the exception of its elevators. Unexpected stops when no buttons have been pushed; noisy elevators; small capacity; and simply not working on occaision. For a large building like the Riu, the original planners did not take into account the large number of guests using the facility.
