Another amazing stay at Riu Palace

This was our 3rd holiday at Riu Palace Maspalomas. Beautiful hotel with great facilities and amazing staff. Perfect to unwind and forget about work. We love the food offering at the buffet, good quality and lots of choice. The service is impeccable. The hotel was busy but you would not really notice as there were always sun loungers available at the 2 pools. At breakfast or dinner, the waiters make sure you never have to wait for a table and bring your drinks straight away. We would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so wonderful. A couple of special thank you to Macu who looked after us so well, Agustino at reception and Adam who welcomes everyone with a big smile. We have already booked our 2026 stay. The only negative point was the food at the Oasis restaurant. Beautiful setting, but the menu was the same as last year. We had the fish this time, and it was overcooked and full of bones. We decided to cancel Krystal because of that.

All went too quickly, but what a nice time we had….

We experienced another amazing stay at a RIU Hotel, this time in Gran Canaria at the RIU Palace Maspalomas. On arrival the expansive and tastefully decorative reception area, gave my wife and I a warm welcome, talking us through the basics of the hotel and surrounding area. Our room was everything we requested and more, we had a fine view of the dunes and sea in the distance. It was very clean and had everything that you would need for a lovely stay. The housekeepers even changed the towels if needed twice a day. Bit of a negative alert here, the two pool areas although are clean and well managed still have the perineal problem of bed grabbing by the early birds that then turn up at midday, but we rose above it after it’s just a holiday. There are lovely walks along the seafront heading towards Playa del Ingles and the shops / restaurants or on the beach if you prefer. If you cut across the dunes (hard work for an oldie) and turn right you will head to a great little place called Playa del Faro and a lighthouse and shops nearby. Warning for the faint hearted there are a lots of naturist on the beach that seem to pop up from no where, hanging lose and swinging in the warm breeze… Fast forward back to the hotel, the bar areas are superb, the staff very attentive the entertainment is ok, the stand out night was the Queen rock night, brilliant atmosphere, but on the whole all the entertainment was fine especially after a stiffener or two. Restaurants, well can’t say much as we only visited the main Dune restaurant which was a buffet style and the food was very good, varied and well prepared. We also popped to the Oasis bar for a lunchtime pick me up and the bar food was excellent and very reasonably priced to boot. All in all my wife and I had a fantastic holiday, very quiet (no pool music, games) just sun and a good book or music via ear buds, enjoy. Bottom line (if I can say that) we had a fantastic holiday in a really great hotel and I hope to return soon, hopefully booking the room we enjoyed so much again.

    Amazing hotel

What a fabulous hotel with beautiful views of Maspalomas sand dunes. The staff members are amazing- everyone one is so friendly and works so hard to make sure all runs smoothly. The food and the drinks were delicious. The hotel grounds are lovely with so many palm trees including coconut palm trees. It’s a great location as in a walking distance to Meloneras ( via the designated pathways in the dunes) and to Playa del Inglés. We also took a local bus to Play de Mogán- a must visit! We highly recommend the hotel, Ania and Duncan ( the brightly dressed couple😁)

    Perfect

Our one week stay here was perfect. I have stayed at other RIU and palace hotels but the service at this one really stood out, especially from the waiting staff at meal times who were attentive, always smiling and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The hotel itself is beautiful, immaculately clean and in a good location right on the Maspalomas dunes. We walked up the dunes on most nights during our stay and watched the sunset. The room cleaners done a great job- our room was always spotless. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. There are spare pillows in the wardrobe if you need them and blankets which were nice for sitting out on the balcony in the evening and feeling cosy. Shower was great and I kept saying I wanted to take it home with me! The only thing I would say about our room (1047) is that our balcony felt very exposed and it was also right above the buffet restaurant, so I could sometimes hear them setting up for breakfast quite early in the mornings. There are two good size pools and we were always able to get a lounger no matter what time we chose to go and put our towels down. We spent most days around the smaller pool where they have toilets, changing rooms and Bali beds(?) you can rent (not sure how much). There is also pool service where you can order drinks and lunch. We loved the food here. My friend is vegetarian and she never had a problem finding anything to eat. I always wonder how RIU hotels have such basic pizzas that taste so good!! Meal times seemed busy at all times but the buffet area never felt too crowded. Again, the staff here are brilliant. There is a small supermarket right in front of the hotel where we got some water for our room and snacks. There are also taxis that we used a few times to get to Puerto de Mogán (38 euro each way) and Aqualand waterpark. A bus stop is a 5/10 minute walk away to get to places of interest too. One more thing to note. Me and my friend are in our early 30s and we were definitely some of the youngest here. I did feel slightly out of place to start with, but we enjoy an adults only hotel that is peaceful and relaxing and we loved our time here. There are singers in the evening and you can also go to another RIU near to here for the RIU party on Fridays. There isn’t much going on in the daytime at all, but if you’re happy to sit around the pool and read your book in peace, you’ll like it like we did :)
