Great Hotel, great staff.
On arrival to the RIU palace oasis, we were taken for a late meal as we did arrive until 11.20. We were then upgraded to a garden room with a side view of the sea. The hotel is lovely great pool and garden areas. The staff are all very polite and helpful. The gym is well quipped. The food is great and lots of choice. The 2 Restaurants Krystal and Botanico, my favourite was the Botanico which served Spanish. Rooms are cleaned every day, and towels changed every day also. Sunbeds are great , lm glad they haven’t got those pads on them as they get very grubby. We are still here and would definitely recommend this hotel. Are room number is 1230. It’s a very friendly hotel.

Good but not great
Lovely hotel super clean but service was not up to the usual RIU 5 Star standard. Did not meet our expectations and we have been using this chain of hotels for about 30 years now. The sea view room we paid for photos included was directly behind the blue marlin hotel, we were woken up at 730- 8am by the recycling lorry collecting the bottles.Room was very small, with 2 steps to the main room. There was no luggage rack as usual under the TV if there was there would be no space to walk by the bed suitcases were stored in the passage outside the bathroom, Cut my toe on the steps using the bathroom at night. Service at the bar was very good, except that they did not stock my favourite drink ( Southern Comfort) was told very nicely to choose something else. This meant we had to leave the hotel and visit the surrounding bars who did stock it to have my preferred drink. This goes back again to not meeting our expectations and client comfort, could they really not get a bottle in? I would have done my very best to make sure that much wouldn’t have been left on their hands. Despite our request of late check out we told were to by a senior female member on reception that they were full so it would not be possible, she did this with a little smirk on her face. Sunbeds,,,, some need replacing very uncomfortable if you want a comfortable one go to the beach. It was not the relaxing break we had anticipated. I realise that the hotel is very popular but it did not hit the spot in our opinion. Our star staff was in the dining room a waitress called Roseandra ( not sure have spelled that right ) but she was very attentive and always had a smile.

Hotel lovely - guests not so.
Lovely hotel with great gardens. Room was lovely and well maintained by the room staff. Food was as per usual standard at Riu Palace hotels. Majority of staff helpful and nice - particularly luggage staff, reception and restaurant. The beach is at the exit from the garden and has security to prevent non residents entering. On the downside there are 3 swimming pools but non are adults only and we were plagued by many young children , even toddlers in nappies, who spent most of the day in the pool screaming at each other and their noisy parents who of course encouraged them. They took no notice of the hotel rules about inflatables being barred and many people smoked in the sun bathing area even though they knew it wasn't allowed and even continued after being told off by the waiters. So although the hotel was 5 stars, a small number of inconsiderate guests spoilt our holiday and we won't return until the two large pools are made, and enforced, for adults only.

Good, not great.
We have been lucky enough to visit Gran Caneria many times over the last 15 years usually staying at the Riu Palace Meloneras or the hotel Riu next door. This was our first time at the Riu Oasis. The Hotel and grounds are beautiful and the hotel has a very relaxed feel to it, no chasing about at 6 in the morning to get a sunbed which was very refreshing. The staff are all very polite and friendly. We arrived very late on the Thursday evening and were shown to our room that was in the garden area. I had previously emailed twice asking if we could have a quiet room preferably garden facing. Our room was Road facing which was massively disappointing. To get this rectified I had to pay £200 extra to get a garden facing room the room we were given was opposite the room we were in, we were under the impression as Gold class riu members if there was an upgrade available it would be given with no extra charge. We have been very blessed the last few years with the Riu Palace and Hotel Riu to have had some amazing upgrades at no extra cost. The dining area and food choices were as with the other Riu's really good. My only minor complaint would be for your table waiter to ask if you would like another drink, there was never a follow up from the first drink. I had one drink per night I would have have had another if I had been asked, as a business this could be costing the hotel a fortune in lost revenue per year. On a personal point it would be great to know why Roast Pork is not on the cavery section, this is always my favourite part of a week at a Riu hotel. Spanish Pork is simply the best. My partner was hoping to do a yoga class. when we eventually found it (the staff at reception had no idea where it was held) the lady informed us we were 5 minutes late (she had no hotel guests at all every space was empty) she also told us we needed a towel, so having been made to feel very unwelcome we walked off. The Hotel has a very strange entrance area if you are an older guest getting out of the hotel to walk up the promenade shop area from the lighthouse is a mission I feel it might be a great idea to offer a shuttle service in a golf buggy as it's a massive walk to get out of the hotel. (Just a thought) On the whole the hotel is really nice, immaculately clean and very friendly. The gardens are beautiful and the pool areas get far more sunlight than I thought they would. I was a little disappointed that the sunbeds did not have cushions as does the Riu Palace also a 5 star also a half board and it has sunbed cushions. To finish the hotel is good, but probably not as good as it likes to think it is.

Amazing hotel - we would recommend to anyone!
My fiancé and I had the most amazing holiday at the Riu Palace Oasis. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to a private pool room with our own loungers (room number 1149). The room had sunshine from around 10am until almost 6pm, which meant we hardly felt the need to leave - it was perfect. One of the first things we noticed was how incredible the hotel smells, very similar to Louis Vuitton’s Imagination fragrance, it gave such a luxurious feel every time we walked through the lobby. The cleanliness of both the hotel and our room was outstanding. I can’t praise the housekeeping team enough, our room was spotless every single day. Every member of staff we encountered was genuinely friendly, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel so welcome. We rarely leave reviews, but this stay was exceptional. A huge thank you to Riu Palace Oasis and all of the staff for making our holiday so special. There are so many more positive things we could mention, but these are just the main highlights from our trip - we can’t wait to return!
