Great resort, highly recommend
The resort was exactly as advertised. Food and drinks were excellent. Beach and pool bar were beautiful and lots of fun. Service and bartenders were extremely professional, friendly and helpful.

Great location and food - let down by room allocations, staff and entertainment and TUI
Overview: The hotel is in a great location, the food is fantastic BUT - it is looking tired, it is overbooked and so many bookings are not being honoured, some staff are lovely and others are so rude. The entertainment is just awful and if you travel with TUI you will get little to no support when you start to have problems. Hotel: Looks great, ideally located, nice beach - but it is old, floor tiles are cracking in rooms and outside and in the pools need some serious attention. Sun loungers are plentiful but are sticky and old and need replacing. Check in is a nightmare. We went with TUI and the hotel was overbooked, they allocated different rooms to what we had booked initially putting adults in the adults only part and kids in another section saying the kids could not be with the parents……….it was dreadful and TUI were useless. Our room was entered one night and the belongings moved. The hotel claimed it was ‘prepared for us to sleep in’ - all it created was anxiety and didn't happen until night 9! They also cleared and cleaned our room on check out day before 11am…..checkout is midday - again they could not care less at reception. This appeared to be happening to all families, so be prepared - it appeared EVERYONE was complaining. Food: Excellent, buffet and a a la carts all superb Entertainment: MASSIVE let down - not the staff, they work tirelessly but the provision. Who wants to fly all the way to Mexico to have either NO entertainment on or a man playing a saxophone!?!?! Basically, all the entertainment is adult orientated day and night with the exception of a kids disco for very small children. If you have 12-17 year olds (or kids that don’t like kidsclub) they will be sooooooooo bored. It is all about the RIU parties, 4 nights a week which are adult only and if you don’t go (or can’t if you have kids) then you are left with nothing to entertain you at night. Everyone we spoke to said the same thing, its just boring to be there. Staff: Not all are bi or multi inguinal as the chain will claim. Half seem happy, the other half look like they don’t want to be there and are rude. They all do work hard though. TUI: The rep is employed by TUI but clearly works in support of the hotel - do not listen to a word he says, he cannot be trusted! Do not use hotel taxis, Uber is the cheapest form of transport (eg a raxi that cost us £6 cost another guest £40 and we went to the same place) , excursions are half the price if you go out of the hotel and turn left to the OXXO shop. TUI themselves - if you have an issue email and webchat are not very helpful. Call them. If (when!) they offer you a refund or compensation, like they are lots of people, decline it and take it up with them when you get home. Overall - would I recommend it, absolutely not. My advice is to contact your travel company before you set off and ensure they make contact with the hotel about your accommodation before you arrive but even so, they allocate the night before you arrive and disregard any requests so chances are you'll arrive and be fobbed off, messed about and treated like you don't matter by staff and management just like we were for 2 weeks. Good luck if you go with children and/or TUI!

Small but Great Beach
The RIU Palace Peninsula certainly needs to be updated. There air conditioning lacks a little on 95 degree days. They were full because their beach stays mostly clear of seaweed and huge waves. They were having a degree of difficulty keeping up with registering guests and housekeeping getting the rooms ready. They have the best buffet of any al inclusive I have stayed in. Italian restaurant is excellant.

Lovely staff and hotel
We had a fantastic 2 weeks at this hotel. Everything was amazing. The staff are so friendly. Our beds were made everyday, the service at the bars and restaurants was great. Special shout out to Karina and Mehmet. I think that’s how you spell the last name correctly. They were both went the extra mile to make the most of our stay.

What a beautiful resort!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riu Palace Peninsula. Every meal was on point with delicious dish options, at all of the restaurants we went to. The housekeeping staff was outstanding and kept everything spotless in our room. We enjoyed all of the pool festivities as we did the various parties at the nightclub. We are definitely going to be coming back to this resort. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get the best overall value for their money. What a beautiful place!!!
