  Just a really good stay

  Our past experiences of RIU hotels are from Mexico and Jamacia. The RIU Playa Park compares well with our previous stays. The hotel is spotless an army of cleaners is employed everyday to ensure all the public areas are immaculate, we had a small problem with the wash basin, it was fixed almost immediately. The food lives up to the high standards of other hotels, the range and the quantity of food available was excellent, there is a regular rotations of dishes so you always find something to eat. The hotel is quiet our sleep was never disturbed and all the other guests were respectful if sometimes boisterous. The location for us was the main reason we choose Playa Park, it sits between two regular bus routes into Palma, we used the hotel as a base to explore Palma and Majorca using the local buses and the island wide buses. The standard fare to Palma as 2 Euros and around the island not much more. Every night we would walk along the promenade, Yes, there are lots of other Europeans mainly Germans enjoying themselves, but the area is well policed and makes an evening stroll interesting. Overall for the type of holiday we wanted and we have no complaints. The staff, the location, the food and the hotel's well maintained infrastructure came together to make our holiday very enjoyable. Would we go there again , definitely yes. One thing to note that this review was written by a couple who are in late middle age. Thanks RIU

  Lovely hotel with superb restaurants

  Lovely hotel just a short walk to the beach. The location is ideal if you want a quick transfer from the airport and enjoy walks along the promenade. Note to others though that the area has many German bars which may put off some guests. Hotel rooms were large, clean and comfortable. So glad we asked for a pool view though as I suspect the view looking to the front of the hotel may have been of building works across the street. The hotel has a large pool with an abundance of sun loungers. The smaller heated pool was ideal to swim in during April when the weather was still spring like and had various activities on such as aqua aerobics and water volleyball. The Swim up bar was not used during our stay but would be an ideal place to cool off during the summer months. The main restaurant served a vast amount of dishes which changed throughout our stay. There was plenty of food and lots of different show cooking counters. Service from the restaurant staff was very good. Bar staff were very attentive, however all inclusive is for soft drinks only and alcoholic drinks could be purchased at an additional cost. Beer and wine were served during lunch and dinner included in the all inclusive package. Entertainment was quite low key with either a singer, disco or game of bingo from 9pm in the main bar. During the day there was family games like shuffleboard, darts, bingo or learning merengue that myself and my children joined in with. All in all a very enjoyable relaxing stay at this property and I would recommend it to others.

  I was on my way home and was left sleeping on the street by your super security because of a prostitute who thought she was getting money from me for nothing. I am awaiting a statement from you. After stating my innocence several times, I was robbed of €100. Your staff thought this was absolutely normal and did nothing.

  Mixed Bag

  Stayed for three nights. Very nice staff and clean hotel. Booked basic room with balcony and was surprised by the nice amount of space we had. Food was unfortunately low quality. No one expects Michelin star level food with a buffet but the food was below what you would expect. Also every soft drink, including water, tasted like chlorine. It was simply not possible to drink. We were aware of the local laws with alcohol meaning it is not possible to have all-inclusive alcohol throughout the day; however, you couldn't even take a beer you were drinking with dinner outside the restaurant to finish in one of the communal areas. Unless this is also part of the local laws, this was very excessive. Overall nice staff and hotel but would not come back.

  Disappointing

  Just got back from a holiday at the Riu Playa Park with my friend- as 2 young British females this hotel/area was not the ideal place. All bars/restaurants were German, we got asked several times why were in certain bars as we were English and not German, we were harassed by big groups of men/stag do’s etc and was just overall not a nice experience. The hotel itself was nice and clean, however there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms which was disappointing. The food was nice, snack bar was my favourite. The evening entertainment was okay. Absolutely not worth going all inclusive- the wine is like ethanol and beer is barely worth it. All other drinks had to be paid for as not included.
