  Lovely hotel

  Great hotel and great staff. Thoroughly enjoying the whole vacation. Only one bad part was checking in that took over 2 hours. Really slow and no information. We were the first ones at the hotel from our coach and the last ones to get into our room. Very poor. Told the Tui rep but didn’t get much response.

  The Great Escape: Clean, Friendly, and Fun

  I recently stayed solo at Riu Reggae in Montego Bay, and overall, I had a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the property was. The public areas, restaurants, pools, and grounds were consistently spotless, and my guest room was equally immaculate throughout my stay. One of the standout aspects of this resort is the staff. Every interaction was met with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. The level of customer service truly elevated the experience and made me feel welcomed from start to finish. I'd like to give special recognition to several team members who went above and beyond: Bartenders: Alofia, Andel, and Marlene, who consistently provided friendly service, great conversation, and excellent drinks. Housekeeping: Alverie and Kaydean, who kept my room spotless and ensured I had everything I needed. Minister of Merriments: Bubbles, whose energy and enthusiasm helped create a fun and engaging atmosphere around the resort. Front Desk Staff: Ryeanne and Racquell, who were always professional, helpful, and accommodating. Bellman: Oral, who provided outstanding assistance upon arrival and departure. Chantelle, who also contributed to making my stay memorable with her exceptional customer service. The resort itself has a very intimate and vibrant feel. Unlike some sprawling all-inclusive properties, it's easy to get your bearings quickly. Within about 30 minutes of arriving, I felt comfortable navigating the entire resort. The layout is straightforward and convenient. I also appreciated that the property offers different atmospheres depending on your mood. One pool area tends to be more lively and energetic, with music and activities throughout the day. The second pool, located near the restaurant, is much quieter and more relaxed, making it perfect for guests seeking a calmer environment. The beach is easily accessible from both areas and provides beautiful views and plenty of space to relax. For prospective guests, there are two things worth noting. First, because the resort is located near the airport, airplanes regularly fly overhead. Depending on flight patterns, you may notice aircraft approximately every hour. While I personally found it easy to adjust to, it may be more noticeable for those sensitive to noise. Second, room location matters. I stayed in Room 865, the first room off the lobby, and it was quite noisy, particularly in the evenings due to its close proximity to the lobby and bar area. If you're a light sleeper or prefer a quieter environment, I would recommend requesting a room farther away from those high-traffic areas. Overall, Riu Reggae offers a great combination of cleanliness, excellent service, a fun atmosphere, and convenient beach access. The dedicated staff truly set this resort apart, and their hospitality made my vacation memorable. I would gladly return and recommend this property to anyone looking for a lively yet manageable all-inclusive experience in Montego Bay

  Great stay at Riu Reggae

  Got back from Riu Reggae on the weekend and can say that Riu Reggae did not disappoint. Beach - the beach was beautiful and warm, the vendors were there in the water but we're not aggressive at all Rooms - room was clean and comfortable, fan was a little squeaky but didn't really need it on at night anyway as the air conditioning was on point Food - jerk hut on the beach was very good other food was typical resort food, could find something on the buffet and the steak house was very good. This particular Riu allowed for reservations however was not a great experience as could only get reservations for 2 nights and we stopped at one restaurant to see if there were any openings/ cancellations as there were only 6 people in it 20 minutes after opening and we were told there was no room. Liked it better when it was first come first serve as I believe the Riu's are going the reservation route Entertainment - typical resort shows but they were good and if have been to other Riu's you will notice that some of the shows are exactly the same. That being said though the steel drum band that came in one night was great Staff - all the staff were very friendly and did a great job. Bubbles with the entertainment crew kept the fun going at the pool & Michelle at the pool bar is a superstar always had a smile and made us feel like home, remembered our names from the beginning A couple of downfalls - if you have mobility issues there is only one elevator at the front of the hotel so keep that in mind as you may want to make special requests for room placement. Riu is still with the towel card system and do truly wish they would let this system go, we have only ever stayed at one other resort one time as we like the Riu's and there was no restriction on towels and it was great Would highly recommend this resort!

  Entertainment staff are the heart and soul of this hotel

  The only reason i have rated this as 4 and not a 5 is down to how our room situation was handled by reception staff otherwise it would have been a strong 5 Lets start with the good. I cannot praise the entertainment staff enough all of them they make this hotel special from 10am till 11.30pm they are the heart and soul of this hotel!! Daytime and evening entertainment is fabulous and the way they take time out to learn your names and interact with you its priceless!! Bubbles and Mr Pineapple are 2 of the best people ive ever met on this planet The hotel is spotless they are cleaning all day and night ! The food choice was enough for the size of the hotel, more curry goat would have been nice though only saw it one evening Restaurant were great with helping with my celiac friend cooking food seperate when asked and providing sliced gluten free bread you just had to ask. Bar staff are again fantastic big shout out to Michelle and Winston! Free shuttles provided to Montego Bay daily (shop slightly better at Montego Bay just because of size) We simply had the best time and i wouldnt hesitate to return The only sour taste i have is over our initial room situation we had we were placed in 1142 which looked great on opening the door however when opening the balcony the smell that hit us i cant even describe it no way you could of ever opened door let alone sat on balcony We were initially told couldnt be moved even though hotel wasnt at capacity by any means We were then offered to move next day to a room looking over construction But after a long day travelling and speaking to people in those rooms we werent happy On returning to reception they offered us an "upgrade" for a cost admitting defeat we accepted however it was not an upgrade smaller room, no better view, no seperate toilet and 3 of us now in 2 beds Upon raising my upset with reception they werent recently interested and the TUI rep stepped in and got us 50% of the money back. We then felt everytime we spoke to reception and mentioned our room it was held against us. The hotel had plenty of space to move us with clean rooms ready at no cost to them and its only down to this we have not given 5 stars .

  Not for couples of middle age if you’re looking for classy upscale entertainment and atmosphere.

  Extremely disappointed- wish I could choose differently now. From the distasteful displays to open smoking areas- it was hard to find an area to just enjoy the island aesthetics .
