Great time in Riu
We had a great time. Food , restaurants and facilities are top notch. The only complaint I have is no lift in most of their buildings.

Great staff but some things to consider
To start I will say that all the staff was amazing and so helpful! Jorge who we sat with every morning and during some lunches at the American restaurant was fantastic and I adored him. Now as far as the resort it was fun for our 18yr kids we brought. The downside to this resort is that it’s geared towards the RIU party and that is exactly what the resort is. We were constantly waking up in the middle of the night to people yelling outside and in the halls. Several times we had drunk people banging on our door because they had the wrong room. Now I get that it’s an all inclusive geared towards the party but you might just consider that and stay at RIU palace or RIU Baja. The beds were so incredibly uncomfortable. They were hard and not pleasant. We booked a two bed room because we had three people. So my husband and I shared one of the beds and we aren’t big people and could barely fit us both. So if you have more than two people in a room I would re-think that. This review has nothing to do with staff as again they weee fantastic and attentive. Just some things to consider

A week at RIU Santa Fe
Our family of 4 just returned home yesterday from a week at RIU Santa Fe. The resort is big, beautiful grounds and very clean and well kept. The staff was nice and did a good job. We spent all of our pool time at the bigger pool closest to the entrance as it was less busy and quieter. The younger crowd utilized the pools near the beach more, and they were more crowded and a little more noisy. We didn't spend any time at the beach but did walk down once. It is clean and has chairs and a volleyball net. As other reviewers have said, it is too rough to swim in, but we did see a few people in it. There are people not affiliated with the resort just standing there waiting for you to walk down to try and sell you things. We also saw them offer drugs to people and even saw a few drug deals. My husband got offered cocaine when we walked down as well. We didn't engage with them and just walked on our way, and they left us alone. I can't speak to how aggressive they can get because we didn't stay long. We had a family/friends room in the 8200 building and had no issues with noise. Our room was very clean and well decorated. You can hear the music from the RIU parties, but the night ones were over at 11:00 and honestly never affected us, and we didn't hear the music in our room. The rooms closer probably could, though. There were a lot of teens/college age kids, but they were not overly loud or rowdy and had no effect on our stay. The food for us was the worst part. We are not picky eaters at all but were really disappointed in the food. Out of all the restaurants, we liked the Mexican, Asian, Tiki Taco, & buffet best. We did not like the Italian restaurant at all, and the steakhouse was so/so. Also, a tip for eating at the steakhouse...people start lining up when they open at 5:30, I believe. They will start taking names and putting people on a waiting list. My husband got there at 6:00 and our time to return to eat was 8:00pm. The other restaurants do this too, but I dont believe it's necessary to get there right when they open as there isn't that much of a demand for them but still plan ahead. My husband also got sick after eating at Pepe's but we can't say for 100% that it was actually from there although he was the only one who got a hamburger and thought it had a weird taste. Everything else was good. The nightly shows could be better but wouldn't prevent us from going back. Getting an Uber was very easy and quick. You just have to walk a short 3 min walk out of the resort, and within a minute or two of ordering, they pick you up. It cost around $5 to go to the marina area, I believe. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely return!

Amazing stay
My whole family enjoyed our stay at Riu Santa Fe. The staff was very kind and helpful. The food variety was plentiful. The parties that we attended played amazing music and the dancers on the stage were so fun to watch. The views from our room and the pool were awesome. We can't wait to come back and try the other Riu hotels.

The RIU is never a let down
I paid a little more for building 7 ocean view this year, and boy was it worth it. Looking over the front pools, the room was well insulated from sound, but the view was awesome. The room size was impressive, as was the shower water pressure. Couldn't ask for a better upgrade experience. Quality of the food seemed better this year, and the RIU parties seem perfected.
