We really enjoyed our stay at the Riu Santa Fe. It's a lovely, giant resort with lots of bars and buffets. I only wish the Kulinarium was open more days.

Cost Conscious Quality
Not a “foodie” resort. Plenty of options but all but one were buffet styled dining. The food was adequate. The resort was beautiful and huge. Our room was a garden view double and was recently remodeled. The housekeeping staff did a spectacular job. The landscaping on the resort was impressive. The resort offers a place for every one of all ages. You will find your “tribe” here somewhere.

The kind, friendly, and sometimes comedic service was great. The staff was hospitable. The food was abundant and good. It would be helpful to add some lights to the sidewalks by the pool. It was a little dark in dune places, but not bad. Also, the drainage of water throughout the resort should be improved, so that when it rains, the rainwater does not pool on the sidewalks and ground. There were several places where water was ponding after some hard rain. It would also be helpful for the staff to check the pillows and bedding. We had a comforter that was dirty, but they quickly removed it. Ocean view was beautiful. It would have been nice if it were calmer to get in it at the resort's location in the cape.

Sep 10, 2025Had a BLAST playing in he Cabo Curling Tournament at The RIU
A bunch of us came down to play in the Cabo Curling Tournament held at the RIU September 4-6, 2025. What a GREAT event and the RIU Hotel was awesome.... Great food, great drinks. Thanks to the bar staff at the Tequila Bar, where the event was held. We are hoping the Riu will host the event again in the next year or two. Special thanks to Randy, one of the hosts of the event!

It is huge resort, and that could be a problem for some
It is huge hotel with breathtaking view of the arc. Several bars, restaurants and pools. The staff is friendly and the hotel recently was renewed. However, there a few inconveniences, because of its size, there are lot of guests so the time for the check in/ check out processes could take more than a few minutes, the distance from some of the villas to the beach/pool or a specific restaurant or bar could be far away, there are several villas with 3-4 floors each, but only the villa 7 has elevator. Only the ”Sports bar” is open 24/7 so t midnight it could be a bit crowed. If you accept and can live with those conditions the resort is still highly recommendable.
