Dec 17, 2025Our favourite vacation place
We have lost track of how many times we have stayed at RIU resorts but the RIU Vallarta is by far our favourite. We feel very comfortable here and as ‘gold’ members we enjoy some of the additional perks. Staff in customer service (Edgar) and the female concierges are excellent to deal with and restaurant staff (Jessy, Estrella, Omar) and more, make the experience very pleasurable. The only concern that we have is that the entertainment, particularly if is associated with a destination wedding is often very loud and seems directed at the oceanfront rooms. We look forward to going back in March of 2026.

Good location with a quick cab ride close to Buscerias. We recommend spending time there rather than PV itself if you are staying at this hotel. The beach was safe and great for kids to swim all day. We paid for a top upgrade with an amazing view but the bed and room were not worth the added cost.

Love the Riu
We have stayed at the Jalisco and the Vallarta Riu and the service has always been excellent. Food at the buffet always has a good choice. Most Restaurants are good depending on your taste. Lots of activities at the hotel if one wants to participate.

First stay of many since Renovation
Wonderful stay again. This stay needing 2 Beds and reading shortage in reviews I regested room number in advance and Received IT . WOW what a great start to holiday, thank you booking staff ,,,, beautiful view to the North, looking at the Renovations being done at the Riu Jalisco, one condo over , from the nice deck . Food drink, service all Great , staff wonderful , smiles a lot .. Tip them some PLEASE . Met some wonderful guests , enjoyed the beach and pools . Even some entertainment . One thing noticed was a Septic smell, others commented on it also, off and on some days . And the towel HOGS that still put towels down OVERNIGHT , or items like a book to have loungers in more than one area . Otherwise a Great stay again . I wish to thank a Manager who was so kind as to book al carte restaurant for us , thanks Edward (Eddy) really enjoyed it.

Holiday
The hotel was very clean. The decorations for Christmas was awesome. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The tour We Love Mexico was excellent, and the city tour was very informative but it would have been much better if we could have shopped longer.

As a result, the Riu Party will not be available for guests at Riu Vallarta and Riu Palace Pacifico during this period. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to resuming the Riu Party events upon the completion of the renovations.
