A surprisingly great last minute booking!
We booked this resort last time, and decided to upgrade yo the Diamond Club. Best decision ever! The whole experience was great. From our checking with Erik to meeting with our team of butler's, yep a team. Guadalupe, and Gina made our trip an awesome experience. In general the property is well maintained, and the people could not be sweeter. A hand on the heart and a little bow, which of course we mirrored back. The people that work at this resort are truly hard working. I found it to be a big difference from our recent trips to the Dominican Republic. We haven't been to Mexico in years, but I am now eagerly awaiting a return.

An excellent stay at an amazing hotel
We have just had the most amazing time in Mexico at the Royalton Riviera Cancun. The hotel is huge and at any given time has 4000 people there! Here are my tips for an enjoyable stay. Check in - we arrived on 1-1-26 and it was very busy. Check in took 1:30 hours but we were told it was due to the hotel being just recently taken over by another company and there wasn’t enough staff. I have to say that people arriving after us were not waiting that long and there was an influx of staff each day going forward. The room was amazing, comfortable bed mini bar, robes and slippers and lovely balcony overlooking the ocean. The refill of coffee for the machine was a bit hit and miss but we just rang for coffees via room service if we needed them. The Royalton app controls most things, so make sure you download this and use it. You need it to make reservations for the restaurants and fitness classes. Don’t be overwhelmed when you first arrive and can’t book any restaurants, you will be able to the following days. The food in the main buffet restaurant was absolutely unbelievable, there is everything you could possibly imagine and it’s all delicious. The restaurants on site are all amazing too, if you want that waiter service. In particular the Tex Mex, Indian and Caribbean - we loved the food and service in these. The fitness classes are great, the fitness team really look after you. I especially loved the sunrise Yoga at 8am every morning and the padel yoga in the main pool. Edgar, Luis, Ivonne and Dani were amazing instructors. Sunbeds need to be secured early in the morning as there are not so many round the main pool. We didn’t like to do this but we had too as we wouldn’t have got a spot round the main pool otherwise. There are many beds on the beach if you prefer a lie in! The entertainment was great, there is loads going on at night for the kids and adults and many great acts. Finally the bars are a plenty and the staff can’t do enough for you. All in all it was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend a holiday to this resort. We will be back next year.

Underwhelming
I booked an amazing room 1303 with diamond club beautiful view of the beach & ocean my butler remains a distant memories of when I checked in. My other groups butler has done more for me then my own. I started the week off bragging and ready to invite more people for a return trip. Instead I find my self in search of a new all inclusive resort. I went and ate dinner at hunter a restaurant/ steakhouse I'm not a steak connoisseur after waiting 2 hours to recive my steak was served cold and gray with minimal charging it was tough and flavorless barley ate half sadly It took two + hours to get our food only to find out it was horrible. I haven't seen any reason to upgrade to diamond club yet as there are zero perks I doubt I would ever return to this resort as my expectations weren't met. Staff has been polite and kind for the most part.
