    Best birthday ever

Now everyone knows the Sandpearl is the best hotel on Clearwater Beach or maybe on the whole gulf side of Florida. Location is perfect. Amenities are excellent. and it is just so good for relaxing. but what sets the Sandpearl apart is the awesome staff. I was celebrating my 60th birthday with my wife and college roommate and his wife. He was also celebrating his 60th birthday. and let me tell you, the people at the Sandpearl made this about the best weekend of my life. Of course, it started when i got there. Lydia and Crestita greeted us at the front door and were as charming as ever. We walked in and Valentina was ready with champagne, and she remembered us from our last visit. That is 3 awesome ladies you have there. Check in was a breeze probably because Lucy is the master of the front desk. I think its fair to say that young lady pretty much knows everything there is to know about the hotel, and she is great at her job. And it was great to see her as always. Now everyone knows when i get to the sandpearl, i need a drink. and there is not better place to get a drink than tates. i dont think its a stretch to say the bartenders at tates are the best in the business. Im talking about bill and andrew and kenny and derek. those guys are friendly and know how to mix a cocktail. And i cant forget our little turiah. i wasnt sure that she could keep up with the boys back behind the bar, but i was wrong. now im not sure if the boys can keep up with her. those cats will keep you happy. now everyone knows i like to spend time on the beach. and al might not have the biggest biceps in the world, but him and carter can put up an umbrella like no ones business. and if you are a pool person, dave owns that pool. i mean, that ginger is top notch. if you spend the day on the beach, you tend to get a little thirsty or hungry. that is where the best beach servers i have ever seen come in. you know who you are. so many good ones. cory, josh, mo, carmen, elaine, kyle. all took great care of us. and of course, i cant forget the man that owns everything. Matthew. was it me or was he walking faster than he usually does. i have to give a special shout out to michael and lydia for going above and beyond for my birthday. wow. thank you for all you did. i usually call out elaine for being the goat. kyle for his calves. cory with an OH, bill for his sideburns, andrew for his magic...well, you know. but every staff member treated me like royalty that weekend. and it really was a great time. before i end this i need to say something about suzi. i have to admit i wasnt sure she could handle things as the big kahuna, but that girl is on top of things at tates. and the place is better than ever, so suzi? you rock girl. see you all next month. and thanks again to everyone for a great weekend.

    Dream Vacation Turned Disaster

We came to Sandpearl Resort expecting luxury, tranquility, and a relaxing family finale to our Florida vacation. What we got was the exact opposite — an exhausting, stressful, and outright insulting experience that completely derailed what should have been the most peaceful part of our trip. The construction noise from the room next door — constant sawing, hammering, and cabinetry installation — went on for days, without a single word of warning when we booked or at check-in. The disruption was so loud it woke our child from naps and made it impossible to relax in our own room. This wasn’t just a mild inconvenience — it robbed us of the calm, restorative time we had planned for months. How can a so-called luxury resort charge premium prices while knowingly placing families next to active renovations? Dining at Caretta on the Gulf was equally appalling. The food was burned, the potatoes reeked of torch gas, and our child was served frozen, processed chicken nuggets — a slap in the face to any guest expecting quality. At this price point, we expected handcrafted meals, not cafeteria-grade shortcuts. To make matters worse, a waitress went out of her way to tell us that our trip was “poorly planned” and that we’d be miserable because we were ending in Orlando instead of starting there — as if we were clueless tourists. We waited for a punchline, but it never came. Just judgment and unsolicited travel advice from someone serving our food. This resort doesn’t just fall short of expectations — it completely undermines the promise of rest, hospitality, and class. We left more tired than when we arrived, feeling like we’d been scammed by a brochure and a beachfront view. There are countless places in Florida offering true five-star experiences for this price. Don’t let Sandpearl ruin your vacation the way it did ours.

Great service. Just wished pricing reflected value.

Service is impeccable from the friendly person who is always opening the front door to the front desk person. The concierge answered all our questions, the bell staff were helpful in getting us the complimentary shuttle service. This is a huge perk that is not advertised anywhere in the hotel. The shuttle will take you the end of the beach and out to Pulblix and the aquarium. Hotel rooms are a bit pricey considering that they also charge a daily $30 resort fee. This price does not include the umbrella over the beach lounge chairs. (Chairs are free). The beach is wide and the sand is super soft and clean. This is the only hotel that has a private beach for hotel guests. The rest of Clearwater beach is public. Pool is always packed; It’s a tad small. All hotels in Clearwater have pools of the same size. Family and kid friendly. Location is great with many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Although rooms are updated, I noticed that there are some nics and dings on some walls and furniture already. Nice size rooms though. I wished that the hotel lobby included a lobby bar. The lobby area could use a facelift to match the guest rooms. Overall, the hotel is nice. We will be back.

Overall it's a nice experience, but other hotels are cheaper and just as good.

Review as a family of 4 with a 6 and 3 year old. We stayed at the Wyndham last year and loved it, so this year we tried the Sandpearl for a more luxury experience. The resort is very clean, and the rooms were great. The valet staff were outstanding, more welcoming than the front desk. We didn’t get the champagne welcome like other guests, which was a little disappointing, but our kids were thrilled to receive beach buckets at check-in. Tate’s Grill was just okay; we preferred the poolside menu at the Wyndham, especially for kids. The kids' club charges a daily fee, which I did not expect. In the afternoon on Saturday, a mermaid comes to the pool and does activities. Our girls loved it. We also loved the separate hot tubs for kids and adults and the beach activity station with free tubes, boogie boards, and toys. Honestly, the best thing. The pool staff worked hard to put our towels on the chairs. Even had a super hard-working man ask us if we wanted our sunglasses cleaned. I wish I had gotten his name, he was super helpful! I found out at the end of the week that the shuttle can take you places. Definitely look into it if you want to go somewhere. You are asked to tip everywhere you go, so just be prepared for that. If we go to Clearwater again, we will most likely be going back to the Wyndham.

    Exquisite resort - superb staff!

My second stay at Sandpearl in May was fantastic! The property and amenities were exquisite! The service staff were superb, from front desk, concierge, mimosa queen, to bellman. Special mention for Justin and Bryan, the valets. Gave excellent care for my car, clear instructions for pickup, provided recommendations on our walk in town, and made sure we had bottled water on our departure. A must experience.
