Seaside Greece in very comfortable surroundings.
Santo Miramare Resort is a modern and very comfortable hotel, and a far cry from being a small family-run Greek hotel. It is on the seafront road that clings to the coast, and has its own beach area at the front of the hotel, with sunbeds which are free for use by hotel guests. It is well positioned for walking to the cafes, bars and restaurants that line the road to the north and south. It is spotlessly clean and well appointed, the bedrooms are larger than usually found, with linens & towels which are changed frequently. There are no towel rails or hooks to hang clothes in the bathroom, and no safety grab rail in the very large open shower area. Minimalism is a good look, but not always practical ! Pool towels are provided at reception and can be exchanged for clean ones daily, without extra charge. There are 4 pools of differing shapes and depths, to suit everyone's water abilities: a tiny circular one suitable for toddlers, a larger one suitable for those building water skills & confidence. There's another even larger pool with shallow steps to enter the water easily (but with no handrails for the less able) and the 4th one which is deeper in places and is accessed by short ladder steps. All the pools and the area around was very clean & litter free. There is a life guard on duty, which is unusual, but keeps everyone safe from over- boisterous & inappropriate behaviour, an added bonus. There is a pleasant snack bar by the pool with a shaded area, the furniture is comfortable, and has a good choice of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. All the staff in the bar are very friendly & efficient. Vasia & Sabrina deserve a special mention for their consistently friendly manner, kindness and patience. Breakfast is served in the shaded outdoor restaurant, it is a large and varied buffet menu of fresh and delicious choices and is self-service. Evening meals are served in the same restaurant: there is a choice of an a la carte menu or a fixed-price three course buffet menu which changes daily, for around Euro 25, which is good value in my opinion. The food is not especially Greek, but pan-European and very good. The staff in this restaurant work hard and are always polite, helpful & friendly. The only negative thing that I must comment on about the Miramare Resort, is that it is not a place I can recommend for people with mobility problems. Although there are a few ramps in some places, there are very few handrails or bannisters around the site, and none in the large shower area in the room we were given. In Provolos there is one small mini-market 5 Mins stroll from the hotel, to the left as you face the sea, which sells some beach necessities, postcards, ice cream, cold drinks including beers & a few spirits, as well as a collection of groceries. The family who run the shop are delightfully friendly and very helpful. The village is small and not very "commercialised", it is centred mainly on the beach , restaurants & cafes, so if shopping is an important part of your holiday, don't come here, or you may be disappointed. There is regular service bus route via Perissa to Thira, and from there to other locations including Oia. Timetables are available at the reception desk in Miramare, and at the seafront bus stops. There's also a land-train service up and down the seafront: join it at the bus stop in Perissa, or just hail it as it rumbles past. It terminates at the Tomato Factory Museum, a rather unusual place to visit, but surprisingly interesting. Free food samples and a make-your-own tin can included in the small entrance charge.

Enjoyable experience
Very enjoyable 10 nights at this hotel. We were impressed with all the staff, especially those who work in the pool/snack bar area. Very clean and tidy complex and had no problems getting a sun bed (but we did go in September so maybe busier in busy season). Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. Didn’t use the restaurant for evening meal but plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Would certainly stay here again.

Great hotel
Spent 10 days at this resort and it was perfect. I have nothing bad to say about it at all and I’m quite fussy. I was surprised how small the buffet area is but there is plenty on offer. Great breakfast in the morning. Having a private beach is fab and you can order drinks and food from your sun bed. The staff in the restaurant and bar are so welcoming and friendly, especially a lovely young lady called Dannai. She stood out for me as she made time to converse with me and my friend. Had to work out buses and such ourselves ( would be really good to have reception give you this info). Rooms are clean and comfy and the shower was excellent. Location was ideal. Very quiet resort, but plenty of bars and restaurants on the stop outside the back of the hotel. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. All in all, very please we chose this location and hotel.

Relax and sit back..
Beautiful, tranquil. The staff were amazing, Danai, Marco, everyone, so friendly and attentive. Lovely rooms, clean and a private beach. Plenty of bars and restaurants along the front for variety. Not sure how different it is in the height of the season, but in September, if you want relaxation without hussle and bussle, at a reasonable price, this is it!

First visit to Santorini
Lovely hotel, great staff who are hard working, friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast is plentiful with good choice. The evening meal is well presented and cooked but is very limited, it is a very small restaurant and wonder what it must be like in the very busy season. There are so many restaurants just outside we would do b&b. Our room was basic but had kettle etc, fridge and a bottle of water everyday. Room was immaculate and cleaned everyday. Unfortunately we didn't have a balcony which was disappointing but would still return but would require one next time. Santorini is beautiful and we hired a car to see it all! The people are very proud of the island and rightly so. We will be back.
