  Superior hotel

  Absolutely fantastic. A very god quality hotel. Food was fabulous especially the French and Japanese restaurants. Market Place was excellent for breakfast and lunch. The quiet pool suited us where we were looked after by Antonio and Filipe - nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely visit again.

  BEST RESORT EVER

  My fiancé and I just got engaged and came to Secrets Akumal to celebrate — and wow, it was beyond perfect! From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely top-notch. Somehow, staff I had never even met already knew our names! Our concierge went above and beyond to make our stay special. They surprised us with a beautifully decorated door, and filled our bathtub with bubbles, rose petals, and champagne. As someone with a gluten allergy, I was so impressed with how knowledgeable and accommodating all of the restaurant staff were. But the real highlight of our trip was the incredible entertainment team. Alan and Ari are the BEST!!! We did for kayaking, the bike tour, and pool volleyball, and they made every activity so fun. They’re genuinely the sweetest people, and by the end of our stay, it felt like we were saying goodbye to friends. We’ll 100% be back!

  The Staff Make This Expirience

  I could not say enough good things about Secrets Akumal. The food, drinks, beach, options, and amenities are top-tier! The food was top-notch at every restaurant, and the cocktails were strong and delicious. It’s the perfect spot for couples.... romantic, peaceful, and just luxurious enough without being over the top. We really enjoyed going with another couple and made lots of friends in our age group that we hung out with throughout the length of the trip. I'd recommend coming here with a small group of couples. What really makes this experience is the staff. The entertainment team here is truly a difference maker. I'd like to specifically give a shoutout to Alan and Max from the entertainment team. They quickly learned our names, our interests, made us feel special and cared for.... always going the extra mile to make us laugh, hang out with us, or lead some of the best sand volleyball I've ever played! Management, if you're reading this - Max and Alan deserve a raise! Additionally - the concierge service was amazing! Karina was attentive, kind, and very thoughtful. I watched her give her own bug spray to a resident when the on-resort store had run out. Secrets should be proud of the staff they have!

  Fantastic time at Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya!!!

  This resort really is beautiful and the nightly entertainment which included typical Mexican food oftentimes as well, was fabulous. We didn’t even get to that many of the regular restaurants since we had the special meals with the entertainment. My husband Charles played volleyball often and he really enjoyed the entertainment team and said they were very friendly as well. I talked to them a bit also and agreed that they are very friendly and they were always happy to speak Spanish with me which I was happy about as well. I grew up speaking Spanish and am always happy when anyone of the staff spoke Spanish to me which they all did. My husband Charles’ comments: Max and Daniel for the games were awesome, Liz - always smiling, sweet and fun to chat with. The whole entertainment team were so nice and I loved chatting with them. Also, Alexandria, the building concierge was always helpful. Isabella, Market café hostess was always smiling and pleasant. Pool 1 José the pool concierge was very helpful Henry the pool waiter was always friendly and checking on us. Swimming and snorkeling with the sea turtles was also a special experience. Very attentive staff - beautiful grounds - great entertainment - highly recommend!

  Hands down, the best service in Riviera Maya

  This was our first time at Secrets Akumal but have been visiting Riviera Maya for many years. Upon arrival we noticed the entire property was in immaculate condition. It was noticeably smaller than other AO/AI and no golf carts. Because of the layout of the property, everything was closeby but seemed private and secluded. A+ The beach was probably the best we've seen. Flat, calm and free of seaweed during our visit. There was a lot of sea life within the swimming area and we frequently saw turtles, rays and lots of fish. A+ The staff was AMAZING, helpful and friendly. but there were a few shining stars that went above and beyond, in our opinion, to make our stay the best ever. Ricardo, our Building Concierge reached out daily via "What's App" to see if we needed anything, sent the daily activities and happenings and once, caught the fact that we had left our Do Not Disturb light on by mistake. We were on an excursion and would have returned to a dirty room otherwise. Ricardo was quick to act when we mentioned to him that we may have a probem with our return transportation, alerting the Asst Manager, Vanessa who met us with a backup plan just in case. A+ Antonio, the Pool Concierge greeted us the first day, introduced himself and explained the pool rules, where to get food and drink and where to find various activities. Each morning, he greeted us by name and assisted in getting pool chairs. A+ Cruz, the Pool Waiter spoiled us like crazy. He was prompt, professional and was a real sweetheart. A+ The restaurants were hit or miss. HIT: Oceana! The fresh tuna blew our minds! They're definitely doing something right. MISS: Santorini. Loved the booth with the big cushions. The food, not so much. The breakfast buffet was another high point. While fairly small, it was clean, well organized. Pretty standard Mexican buffet of bacon, sausage, eggs, omelet station, salami and cheese, fruit, yogurt and really gorgeous pastries. It had a small selection of Mexican choices but I wished they offered more selection in that regard. The Mexican choices were delicious. Meals: B We decided to upgrade to a 2nd floor ocean front room with a nicer view. The room was, well.... huge. I'm talking a powder room off the living room and a wrap around balcony. The housekeeping staff did an incredible job, our room was absolutely perfect every day. Nothing was overlooked, which was impressive. A+ We also must mention the Security team. We booked an excursion through Amstar. When we boarded the van and drove to the front gate, Security alerted the Security team regarding the safety of the van. There was a lengthy conversation and the van was scrutinized before allowing us to leave. We appreciate the alert Security Guard taking our safety seriously. The van was not in good shape but was fine. A+ While the service was great, I wasn't happy to have to ask for things that were stated as part of our package. It was several days before I realized we were to receive a fruit plate and a bottle of sparkling wine and had to ask for it. I was told it was "just 3 apples". Also had to ask for our beach bag which was to be provided. There were several instances and it felt like if they waited, maybe they wouldn't have to provide it C- Secrets Akumal - hands down the best service in Riviera Maya.
