  Secrets Akumal. High Quality. Great Service. Attention to detail.

  While planning our honeymoon for my wife and I, I was so frustrated trying to find an all-inclusive resort that actually was all-inclusive. I swear most of the resorts have a longer list of what isn’t included than what is while still claiming to be all-inclusive. Secrets Akumal more this delivered on what they promised. The attention to detail was impressive. Every little detail is considered and perfected to a high degree. The staff are so kind and helpful and make it their personal duty to make sure you want for nothing. The food was amazing and they were especially considerate of my wife’s celiac condition (even better than places in the states). The food options and events make it so you always have something to do or look forward to. The infinity pook was our favorite, shout-out to Marco and Eduardo for truly top notch service. Poolside concierges look to your every need and truly become the your friends. We especially enjoyed the service Osuna provided us at the beach as our concierge. We went to his side of the pool whenever we could and he took us extra special care of us. The room service was amazing and it was such a joy to come back to a clean and cool room after a day out in the hot sun. Honestly I’m scared to go to any other resort for fear of it being a downgrade from the quality we experienced at Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya. For sure will be coming back as soon as we can.

  Secrets Akumal - Amazing Resort - Will definitely be back!

  My wife and I just returned from a 7-night stay (July 19–26) at Secrets Akumal for her birthday, and we were blown away. The property is stunning, the grounds are lush and filled with wildlife, and the layout offers something for every type of traveler—whether you’re looking for activity or total relaxation. What made our stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. So many went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday and our entire trip extra special: -Alejandro (Beach + Quiet Pool Concierge): Went above and beyond during our time at the Bali beds helping surprise my wife with a birthday banner. For the remainder of our trip he was stationed at the quiet pool where we spent our afternoons. He'd greet us with towels and chairs already set—unreal service. -Alexandra (Building 9B Concierge): Checked in daily via WhatsApp, had our room decorated for my wife's birthday, and helped arrange Bali beds. So kind and attentive! -Jesus (Bali Bed Server): Kept us stocked with drinks and snacks and even tracked down a fresh coconut when I missed the cart. -Efram (Quiet Pool Server): Learned my drink order and always made sure I was taken care of. -Manuel (Half Time Bar): Always cheerful and welcoming. -Mario (Beach Swing Bar): Great energy and fun conversation. -Ayram (Himatsu Server): Recommended the Indio beer (which I loved!) and gave great food suggestions. -Santiago (Market Cafe): Made our last breakfast special—great humor and top-notch service. -Melchor (Room Attendant): Kept our room spotless and handled a minor maintenance issue quickly and professionally. The pools were fantastic, each with a unique vibe—from lively to peaceful—and the room itself was spacious and luxurious, with a big balcony and modern bathroom. There were a few minor drawbacks: The food was hit or miss. We enjoyed the buffet, El Patio, and Himatsu, but didn’t care for Portofino or Seaside Grille. The resort layout is beautiful but a bit tricky to navigate at first. The public beach meant occasional vendor interruptions. Sargassum seaweed was present but manageable thanks to the staff's diligent cleanup each morning. Overall, Secrets Akumal delivered an amazing experience. We’re so thankful to the team that made it special, and we’ll absolutely be back!

  Fantastic Staff, No Sargassum!

  We stayed at Secrets Akumal from Sunday, July 20 – Thursday, July 24, and had a fantastic time. As many others have said, what makes this resort so memorable is the genuine warmth and hospitality of the staff. We had a quick check-in and immediately went to lunch at Seaside, where the charming and friendly Baltazar, treated us to fish tacos and what my husband said was the best burger he has ever had. He talked about that hamburger all week. The fish tacos were tasty, too. We arrived at Room 9431 and commented that the view was not a partial ocean view as advertised. The bellman immediately contacted the front desk manager, Nestor, who came to the room within 5 minutes. The partial ocean view is obscured by lush trees, so it’s not a bad view, but you couldn’t see anything that made you think you were even facing the ocean (or the pools). Because we had paid for a partial ocean view and not a tropical view, we asked for some kind of compensation and received a Preferred Club Bali bed for a day. Nestor told us to go about our day and he would bring the documents we needed to sign to us instead of us waiting on him. The Bali bed was a suitable exchange, and we enjoyed it very much. It's hard to go back to lounge chairs after that. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the air conditioning worked well. Housekeeping and Turn Down Service were wonderful. The drive from the Cancun airport to the resort was right at one hour on Sunday and Thursday. Others had mentioned traffic could be bad, but we didn’t experience that. We also didn’t have any issues from sargassum. The beach was clean and beautiful! The infinity pool was mild and refreshing. The other guests were younger than when we stayed at Maroma, with most being in their 30s and 40s (we’re in our 60s) and they were rowdier that at Maroma, but in a good way, having fun, laughing, making the pool area fun. Our pool concierge at the infinity pool, Jose, was friendly, attentive and checked in on us frequently, and our pool waiter Felipe kept us in bottled water, ice, cocktails, coconut water, and fresh fruit. We loved the Chef’s Table experience at Patio. The chefs were friendly and prepared a fantastic six-course dinner (not our usual TexMex) and our server, Roberto, was very knowledgeable about each dish and its origins. Also outstanding was the hostess at Patio, Adelina. Our UVC contacts, William and Mauricio, were in daily contact before we arrived and up until our last day, offering recommendations for fun things to do and different dining options. Our favorite restaurant was Santorini – reserved for UVC and PC guests. Superb Greek food, and our server Julio was very helpful. I loved the Branzino. Our concierge, Leidy, sent a text every morning with all of the activities available for the day, arranged our couples massage at the Spa, made dinner reservations at Santorini for us, and arranged for a bellman to collect our bags upon departure. She, along with every other staff member that we asked for directions escorted us to our destination instead of just pointing in the general direction. You will get lost every day, but the resort is beautiful with a lush canopy of trees and vines, flowers and tropical plants, so that’s a fair trade-off for getting lost. And again, the staff is phenomenal. We are returning in January to swim with the turtles!

  Truly an Amazing and Memorable Vacation!!

  We arrived early on a Saturday around 10 AM and was escorted to the Preferred lounge, where we were quickly registered, offered a welcome drink, and enjoyed some snacks. We were informed we could use all the amenities of the resort before a room was ready which we did but was pleasantly surprised that we were able to get our room by 2pm. Our concierge, Ricardo from Building 5 was exceptional he ensured we had everything we needed, and maintained regular contact throughout our stay, providing helpful information on daily activities. His attentiveness and daily communication in the What’sApp made our stay stress free. The resort's pools are stunning, featuring two quiet pools and one more lively pool with daily activities. We chose to relax at the quieter pools, where Antonio provided outstanding service. He consistently ensured we had prime shaded spots and checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable, had dry pool towels and his warm personality truly enhanced our experience and sincere communication remembering us by our last name even! Francisco, our pool side cocktail waiter, was fantastic!! He kept our drinks flowing and food coming, always attentive without being intrusive. His excellent service made our poolside a pleasure throughout the day and he sure gets his daily step in. For daytime entertainment, we highly recommend meeting Max. He introduced himself on our first day and offered a variety of activities, from dancing lessons to volleyball. Even when we didn't participate, Max made a point to visit us regularly, engaging with a personable conversation with us and creating a lively, fun atmosphere. We even took a salsa making class with Liz who was so informative and engaging to the audience. Overall, our stay at Secrets Akumal was perfect, thanks to the attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, and excellent amenities. I highly recommend this resort for anyone seeking a luxurious, relaxing, stress free getaway!!

  Jungle Vibes

  Loved how nature was fully interwined with the properties aesthetics. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I love that they had a concierge person at each building who updates you on daily activities via WhatsApp.
