  Zipline with Noe and Alexandra

  We’ve had a great time! The zipline was fabulous! Noe and Alexandra made sure we had a great adventure and we were very safe. Zipping through the jungle, lots of joking around and connecting with new friends! Highly recommend. Thanks!

  Review of Secrets and Dreams Bahia Mita

  This resort is one large complex with one side being Secrets (adult only) and the other side Dreams (family). The entire complex is 4 years old, and we were surprised by the amount of deferred maintenance that was obvious around the resort. When combined, it is a good size property that has a lot of sneaky nooks and crannies to catch some relaxation, a drink, or sunset. Navigation around the Secrets side was intentionally difficult to keep kids from easily accessing the adults only areas. As an example, one elevator bank only went up to the 4th floor, then you would have to go down and around to access the elevators up to the 8th floor Sky Bar. Lots of elevators around the resort for those with mobility issues. However, the access to the beach was a bit more difficult and the final landing is a pretty steep ramp down to the beach. As a note, there is ongoing construction right next to the Dreams side. Condos are being built and that construction definitely impacts some of the view and will be continuing for at least another year, if not longer. It did not really bother any of the group, but just be aware of that. ACCOMMODATIONS - We were in Room 3353 which is a Junior Suite Ocean View King. The room was nice and comfortable. The bed was pretty comfortable. We have adjustable beds at home so sleeping completely horizontal again takes some getting used to for us. The mini bar was filled mostly every day and there was evening turn down service as well. No issues with hot water or water pressure. However, the water flow inside the shower area was not the best. The water pooled at the entrance and did not flow properly to the drain. This was either a poor tile placement job with insufficient slope or there has been settling of the structure so the original slope is not what is was. Overall grade = A- SERVICE - The service at the various restaurants was pretty good. The buffet service could have been more consistent, but there were days that is was definitely top notch. With the exception of one dinner at Portofino (see below), the other restaurants had solid service. We never had to wait for a table on any day regardless of which restaurant. Overall grade = A- FOOD AND BARS - The food overall was good with some being great. Pretty consistent with quality and service no matter where we went. Overall grade = A- BEACH AND POOLS - On the Secrets side, there were 3 different pools at the front of the complex with 2 of them facing the beach and ocean. There was no chair game while we were there and plenty of spots around the different pools. There is also a rooftop (8th floor) pool area that is preferred only. There are additional pools on the Secrets side on the 6th floor open to anyone. One is at the end of the complex really inside Olio that has stunning sunset views. The other pools on the 6th floor are very shallow. If you want the ability to swim (like Ken does), the pools in the photo above are where to go. Overall grade for pool areas = A+ The beach area is shared between Secrets and Dreams. For the size of the resort, the beach area is relatively small. Nice sunset views. This is on the Pacific Ocean side so always waves and high tide did get a little rough. However, there was paddle boarding, surfing, and even kayaks you could use. A little too rough for us on those, but there were plenty of people out there especially with surfing lessons. We like to hear the waves crashing when laying down on the beach so it was good for that. Overall grade for beach and ocean = B- SPA AND FITNESS CENTER - The spa treatments were nice - not the best, but good. Unlike our past couple of Secrets spa experiences, we were allowed to hang out in the relaxation area after the spa treatment. Overall grade for spa = A- The fitness area was actually two rooms and various sections. Since it is a newer resort, the equipment is in pretty good shape. A lot of cardio equipment and a whole spinning room. There were Peloton bikes for those that subscribe to that. Probably the only criticism would be more free weights and different resistance machines - less cardio equipment. Overall grade for fitness area = A- RESORT GROUNDS - As mentioned, this is a larger complex overall with a lot of different areas with nooks and crannies. Some of the design components of the resort did not make much sense, but others were nice. As noted, navigation around the resort is a bit of a challenge especially on the Secrets side, but you get the hang of it. There is jungle around the resort and the vegetation around the grounds is in pretty good shape, but could use some attention to detail - trimming, weeding, and such. One of the very noticeable items is the mold/algae all over the outside of the buildings. This is a normal thing with such humidity, but we were making comments the first couple of days about the need to address the deferred maintenance items like cleaning the mold, patching cracks, painting, etc. As if they heard us talking, the third day we were there saw maintenance people appear out of nowhere and all kinds of patching, painting, and mold removal began all over the resort. We were told it had been on the list and they wanted to get things in shape for the upcoming holidays and high season. Definitely needed. Some proactive work on the HVAC systems to keep the drain lines clean and open will prevent 90% of the ceiling drips seen all around the resort. For the resort only being 4 years old, the amount of maintenance and repair necessary was a bit surprising. Overall grade = C Overall, we had a great trip! Definitely a different layout and style of resort. Room was nice. Preferred amenities were nice. We received top notch treatment while we were there.

  Amazing!

  We had a great time at this resort! The entertainment team was especially awesome!! Wendy, Miriam and Sophia were amazing and we did lots of fun activities like water volleyball and Zumba. They were very nice and so much fun and they did a good job at promoting all the activities and shows. Every single staff member at the resort was kind and helpful.

  My husband and I recently had the pleasure of visiting your beautiful property Secrets Bahia Mita. This trip was truly important to us as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We felt compelled to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Our trip was filled with unforgettable moments, and much of this is owed to the dedicated and passionate team you have. From the very beginning, our journey was made special thanks to our Butler, Rousse. Her warm welcome started with a friendly text message even before we arrived at the hotel, setting the tone for an extraordinary experience. After we met Rousse in person, her warmth and professionalism played a pivotal role in making us feel truly valued and cared for. Her morning messages and constant attention to ensuring everything was perfect each day made us feel incredibly special. A significant part of our visit was spent at the Preferred rooftop on the Secrets side, which provided a stunning environment for relaxation and enjoyment. Mr. Martínez and his outstanding team worked tirelessly with passion, ensuring every guest felt pampered and looked after with genuine hospitality. During our time there, we were fortunate to be served by Víctor, Julio, and Darío, who consistently anticipated our needs and delivered personalized service that only they can provide. At the bar, Manuel created some of the best cocktails and mocktails we have ever tasted, simply remarkable. Thank you Anahi Rivera for making sure that our stay was a success. Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge the wonderful efforts of Iván, Efraín, and our sweet and beloved Maria. This remarkable team was always available to assist us and made sure our stay was flawless. We admire and appreciate your dedication and passion for ensuring every guest enjoys their experience to the fullest. Throughout our stay at this beautiful resort, we met many talented and professional individuals. In the afternoons, we frequently visited the Secrets lobby bar, where Nely warmly welcomed us and offered excellent drink recommendations. After dinner each night, we returned to the same bar, delighting in the passionate and skillful cocktail creations by Ismael. Arely and Anayeli were always gracious and attentive, making each evening memorable with their exceptional service and delicious beverages. We also had the pleasure of dining in four specialty restaurants, each offering unique and delightful experiences: Bordeaux: A very special dining spot with an exceptional team. Thank you, Chef Angel, Chef Miriam, Ivan, Mauricio, Galilea, Luis, and Maura, for your warm hospitality and the unforgettable evenings we spent with you. Your efforts made our dinners extraordinary. Portofino: Known for excellent food and outstanding service, we greatly appreciated the genuine hospitality from Gerardo, David, Sergio, and Janet. You made every detail count. El Patio: A celebration of traditional Mexican flavors led by Rosa and her wonderful team—Gaby, Daniel, and Iván (who also served us at Bordeaux)—who consistently provided us with personalized and quality service, always remembering our preferences. Blue Waters: with its pleasant atmosphere and wide variety of options, was another highlight. Alexis’s leadership and Pablo’s professionalism and kindness greatly added to our dining enjoyment. After a full day of relaxation, excitement and fun our nights often ended with a visit to Coco Café, where Montse made us feel truly special through warm conversations and attentive service with our delicious iced vanilla latte. In the mornings, we enjoyed the delicious buffet at Market Café, greeted by Diego, Jazmine, and our attentive waiter, Joya, whose excellent service was both warm and professional. Our first spa experience was exceptional which made us return for additional service on another day. The Spa at Secrets Bahia Mita features top-notch massages and facials. We want to extend our thanks to Armando and Daniela (valet), Christian, Leslie, Adriana, Brenda (therapists), and Perla (Spa front desk) for their professionalism and care. We also attended various evening shows offered by the hotel and would like to congratulate the team of performers/dancers for their outstanding and professional performances, which added a vibrant touch to our evenings. Our favorite show of all was The Moulin Rouge! Which was curated to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween and the Day of the Death events hosted at the main plaza, which was nothing short of marvelous. The high-quality cuisine and the tremendous effort from the entire staff made the celebrations truly unforgettable. We want to express our sincere admiration for your entertainment team, who have consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth during the events held at the main plaza. They added an extra level of personalization to the overall experience by remembering who we were. Their cheerful demeanor, and thoughtful attention have made a significant impression on us. Each time we have encountered them, they have gone above and beyond to ensure that we felt truly special. Their positive energy and amiable nature greatly enhanced the experience of the events and left a lasting, favorable impression on all the attendees. Our room accommodations were absolutely stunning, the cleanliness and well kept stay-over service was all due to Haidi (housekeeping) and every area of the property is truly remarkable. However, we cannot say enough what stood out the most and made a lasting impression on us was the incredible team of individuals at Secrets Bahia Mita. Your outstanding staff truly makes all the difference. We eagerly anticipate returning very soon to continue enjoying this wonderful place.
