  Another wonderful visit

  This was our 2nd visit to this lovely hotel; there were 5 of us this time. In May we stayed 5 nights and this time we had a week.… which was much better as we managed to eat at the various restaurants a couple of times. The food in all the restaurants was lovely and service was excellent. A special mention to Guber in the World Café, as soon as we sat down at lunchtime our drinks were on the way…. we didn’t have to ask. Both times we had the Unlimited Luxury package. In May we were aware that we could only eat at the Barefoot Grill after 3.00 pm but on checking the website, it said Unlimited Luxury from 10.30 am – 6.30 pm so we thought this had changed and we could eat there at lunch time, unfortunately not but Luis was helpful and kind enough to let us have lunch there which was another good meal. Just a suggestion it may be worth changing the wording on the website map as we noticed that other people thought they could eat there too. The porters and front desk staff were so helpful and friendly, a big shout out goes to Veronica and Alex who helped me sort out my next booking for May 2026. Rooms and the communal areas were cleaned to a high standard. We noticed the cleaner washing down the outside white walls which must be an endless task. Overall, the entertainment was good, just a couple that wasn’t to our personal taste. We did have an issue with the lack of service in the piano bar on a few of the nights after returning from dinner. We brought this to the attention to Julia, one of the Guest Experience Team who apologised and said it would get investigated. Next day, Carla one the of managers rang me, we met with her and explained what had happened, she apologised and said she would get the issue sorted and would be around that evening if there were any further problems, that night the service was excellent… sadly it was our last night. Management was very approachable and were effective in getting the issue resolved very quickly. Thanks again Secrets for a wonderful holiday…. See you in May 2026 x

  Definitely not a 5 star

  This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, the staff are very friendly, helpful but very short staffed, we had to wait to get drinks in the evening, the entertainment is the same each week and we went for 2 weeks AI, maybe better B& B, the pool is freezing, the cups we had at breakfast where chipped. Lots of steps around, the nearest place to go is about 10 minutes walk from. The hotel, not very good if you have mobility issues. It was peaceful and very quiet which is nice We went to this hotel going by all the good feedback, and costing us five and half grand. Which for a 5 star hotel fair enough but this is no way a 5 star. We did walk to PDC which you will need good footwear as it took us over an hour, which is a much busier place and definitely the sun shines more there.

  Beautiful resort, lovely for a relaxing break.

  My partner and I stayed at Secrets Lanzarote for one week in September 2025. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite on arrival which was very much appreciated. The room was stunning, very spacious, comfortable beds and plenty space for clothes. Unfortunately our jacuzzi bath didn’t work but this didn’t affect our stay at all. The room was cleaned to an excellent standard daily and the mini bar was always restocked. We only visited the preferred pool which was lovely although very cold initially when getting in. We had no issue with getting sunbeds and found there were beds available throughout most of the day. There is definitely an issue with people reserving sunbeds first thing in the morning and not returning till later in the day though, which should really be managed better. I witnessed one couple reserve four sunbeds for two of them so they could move around throughout the day as the sun moved!! The food options at the resort are excellent. The a la carte restaurants are lovely, great selection of food and friendly helpful staff. It’s wonderful to be able to use all the a la cartes as often as you wish without reservations. We had lunch most days at Oceana - gorgeous food and gorgeous setting with hard working staff. Service was always very slow though but we were never in a rush. The entertainment was good however more staff are required within the lobby bar at night as we were told we could not go and order our own drinks and had to wait for the table service - waiting up to 45 minutes just to order a drink with only one member of staff serving the entire bar. Areas for improvement: - I felt the cocktails, while nice, were not really the level I would expect for a five star hotel and feel these could be improved. I found the piña coladas and mojitos to be mediocre. -my biggest issue was with accessibility. I have mobility issues and had a situation where the disabled bathroom beside the pool was locked for almost 24 hours. I was not allowed to use the bathroom in Oceana and was informed I would have to go back to my room or to the other end of the resort. This was very difficult for me and I did not feel the staff understood my concerns despite showing them my disabled badge. I think this needs to be a more important issue for the hotel. I do understand however that this was possibly a specific issue within that 24 hour period. I would like to have seen this dealt with in a more professional and timely manner. Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing week at the resort and I would definitely return.

  Smokers Beware!

  Smokers Beware! This hotel does not welcome smokers. It you enjoy a cigarette, pipe or after dinner cigar avoid this place. Smokers are restricted to standing (no chairs) beside open waste bins, with an ashtray attached. These are found around the complex situated on busy walkways with no shade, seating or privacy. At a minimum a designated smoking area where one could relax, in a chair and without the aroma of an open bin should be provided. We have spoken with the manager but with zero success. My advice is to do your research and find a hotel that is more accommodating.
