  Disappointing Stay

  We had paid for the ‘Preferred Club’ which, to say the least, was most disappointing. While we received a ‘Preferred Room’ it was located approximately 250 meters from reception. As members of the ‘Preferred Club’ we had access to its preferred lounge where the choice of food and alcoholic drinks were very disappointing. Notwithstanding that the hotel app states that the lounge was to have continental breakfast and a selection of premium beverages, both of which were practically non-existent with the only alcoholic drink being Cava and breakfast being a very small selection of pastries. As ‘Preferred Club’ members we had no benefits whatsoever in any of its bars or restaurants, even though the hotel app states that such members may have to pay extra for some food and drinks. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful and breakfast in the Portofino restaurant, which is reserved for ‘Preferred Club’ members was very good.

  In search for Winter sun ☀️

  Lovely week away in Lanzerote, hotel is very nice with some lovely members of staff. Types of room are over complicated, we asked for a high floor, quiet room with sea view, we got ground floor near a lift! This was rectified the following day, big thank you to Laura - guests experience who was so nice and helpful, you are a big asset to the hotel, also Joseba who helped move us to another room. Other staff who stood out for us were Leanne (porter) Mitchel, Selena, Fran, Majo, Arturo, Carla, Verónica. We had dinner a couple of times in the World Café buffet which we was good plenty of choice, our favourite was Portofino, we didn’t try Bluewater Grill. Lunch time we enjoyed Oceana Seafood Restaurant which serves the same menu as Portofino lunch menu, always generous portions. Entertainment was good they have some great singers. We booked preferred club which is the food package, this allows use of Cafe by reception which was great to pick up bottles of water and enjoy a glass of cava or a coffee. There’s not a lot outside of the hotel we did walk to the marina, there’s a few shops and a couple of bars. The hotel has some cats that are looked after and well fed by a charity, this means they don’t beg for food and some like to say hello, we are cat lovers so it was so nice to see they are neutered and living a good life in the sun! Overall we had a lovely time away with plenty of good food and drinks!

  Experience not to be repeated

  Well situated hotel and tranquil atmosphere. Food was good and a few restaurants to enjoy. Staff on the whole were very helpful and friendly. A few issues arose for us, we were checked in by a trainee, which was fine everyone has to learn, however he was left unsupervised, couldn’t answer our questions, just replied by saying he would have to ask, and then didn’t. He asked us to wait till he checked if our room was available but never got back to us. We asked the bellhop if there was somewhere to have lunch while we waited and he helped us. On return I asked if our room was ready and spelt our name for him, we were given keys and taken to the room only to discover the room was allocated to someone else. There were apologies from reception and guest relations and we received a bottle of wine. The rain came and we chose to relax in our room. The housekeeper came to service the room and demanded we left, I declined as I was not prepared to stand in the hall till the room was serviced we did offer to go to the balcony but this wasn’t enough. She contacted reception who contacted me to say there was some sort of policy that says we would be required to leave the room, would be helpful to have received that information on check in. I asked they just changed our towels, she brought the fresh towels in and dumped them on the toilet, a call to reception brought her back to hang them. Another apology from guest relations and 2 days access to preferred club amenities. Which was very kind but still felt things wouldn’t change. First night was lovely to come in to the room to the turn down service, a nice quote and chocolates on the pillow. The second night turn down service arrived at 7pm while we were getting ready for dinner, handed my husband the card with the quote and 2 chocolates not quite the same service. We had previously booked this hotel prior to covid and had to cancel, so had really looked forward to being here, the rooms were lovely and good size, comfy beds. The hotel generally looked tired and the mattresses on the sun beds desperately need replacing. The hotel operate keycards for room entry and for access at restaurants and ordering at the bar, daily trips to reception were needed as they often didn’t work. I accept that we may just have been unlucky, but we left disappointed, to be fair they lost us at check in!

  Honeymoon in paradise

  Just spent the most AMAZING week and honeymoon at this resort. The level of service is incredible, the people and staff are some of the nicest! We have been to many Secrets worldwide and both my husband and I agree this is hands down our favourite! I highly recommend upgrading to preferred club. We had the swim out suite and would say go for it if you can! What a treat! We are already talking about coming back next year! Thank you to all the amazing staff for making this a memorable week. It is on the quieter side so something to keep in mind. It was exactly what we were hoping for.

  Peaceful stay with a relaxing spa atmosphere

  We stayed here looking for a calm and relaxing break, and the overall atmosphere was very peaceful. The spa area was well maintained and provided a quiet space to unwind, especially outside peak hours. The hotel grounds were clean and nicely designed, and the setting near the marina added to the relaxed feeling. The experience felt suitable for couples who want downtime rather than a busy resort environment. While some areas could feel quieter depending on the time of day, it worked well for us since we were mainly focused on rest and relaxation. Overall, a comfortable and tranquil stay.
