  Solid Stay with Great Service—Maintenance is Top-Notch, Preferred Club Elevates the Experience

  Preferred Club & Room Experience: We really enjoyed our Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View King, which featured both an indoor jet tub and a great outdoor tub on the balcony. The Pros: The Preferred areas felt noticeably more private, which we really valued. The dedicated pool and beach wait service was great (though it could use a few extra hands during peak hours). The Preferred Lounge was a fantastic perk—we visited several times daily for snacks, desserts, and premium top-shelf liquors (the quality of which you quickly appreciate once you order in a non-Preferred area!). We also loved the thoughtful poolside touches, like staff coming around with cold towels, cleaning sunglasses, and making friendly conversation. Room Critique: The room struggled to stay consistently cool overnight. While this is a common issue at tropical resorts, you would expect a high-end property like this to have it solved. Keeping the ceiling fan on in the small living area helped slightly, but having a ceiling fan directly above the bed would make a big difference. Amenities: The room robes and slippers selection should match the local climate—thick, heavy robes and warm slippers are completely wrong for tropical weather and make you hot. Lightweight, breathable linen/cotton robes and simple bathroom flip-flops or lightweight sandals would be much better suited for Costa Mujeres. Butler Service: We communicated with our assigned hand-selected butlers daily, Eddy and Heber. They were extremely friendly, great at conversation, and clearly communicated their working hours and the daily resort schedule so we always knew what was happening. On-Property Fitness & Wellness Classes: Yoga: Joined every day it was available—the classes were exceptionally well taught by a certified instructor who was attentive, skilled, and highly professional. Gym Fitness: Simple, well-structured, and a solid workout. Aqua Mat Pool Class: Great concept and hosted by very friendly staff, but clearly led by entertainment staff rather than a trained fitness instructor. Watching the instructor perform the full movements was a bit awkward—a better approach for fun-focused staff would be demonstrating an exercise once or twice, then switching to counting, encouraging, and engaging the class. Equipment Delays: A notable downside for both yoga and aqua mat was waiting for staff to bring the necessary gear. For the aqua mat class, we waited over 10 minutes just for a speaker to be brought down and set up. Setting up equipment prior to start times would easily fix this friction. Dining & Logistics: Coco Café: An absolute standout and a favorite spot on the property! We visited morning and night for coffee, light breakfasts, and desserts, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff also moved smoothly and efficiently through high order volumes. Casual & Poolside Dining: Excellent options for quick bites! The Barefoot Grill was a constant go-to for speedy meals—the pizzas and wings were hits every time. The poolside food service was also consistently good, especially the nachos and quesadillas. Seaside Grill & French (Bordeaux): Highlights for sit-down dining. The French restaurant was good, and Seaside Grill offered great options with well-prepared steak. Himitsu (Teppanyaki Table): Gustavo was a fantastic, engaging chef to interact with! Be prepared for a ton of food—it is a full 5-course dinner. While the butler team doesn't make Teppanyaki reservations directly, following their guidance made booking through the required process smooth (though we did have to set an alarm to catch the reservation window). Italian (Portofino): Disappointing. The indoor dining area was uncomfortably hot, and the menu lacked standard Italian classic pasta dishes. Oceana: Hands-down the worst tasting meal of our stay; definitely needs a menu overhaul. Tip for Guests: Note that each day of the week, one or more restaurants will be closed. Be sure to check the daily communications via the app or ask the staff so you can plan accordingly! Pool, Lounge & Nightlife Entertainment: What Worked Well: The karaoke night was very enjoyable, and we loved the live music performances, including the band, saxophone, and trumpet players. Areas for Improvement: While the theater shows felt a bit tacky, the resort could really elevate the adult vibe by offering themed interactive music nights—like 80s, 90s, or 2000s dance nights, or pop and Latin nights. Preferred Lounge Programming: Bringing poolside karaoke or night-time music events to the Preferred Lounge would create a much more fun, engaging setting for Preferred guests. Sports Viewing: Right now, sports fans and people looking for a party scene struggle at times because options are limited. Having more than one dedicated social setting to watch games would balance the resort crowd dynamics much better. Airport Transfer (Amstar Caution): Be aware if you use the resort's third-party transfer service, Amstar. They scheduled our airport pickup an excessive 5 hours before our flight, which felt completely unnecessary. They are difficult to deal with if you want to make changes and look to charge for everything—though that is somewhat typical of the local tourism culture. The hotel really needs to include a clear disclaimer about Amstar's rigid scheduling and policies upon enrollment so guests know what to expect.

  SECRETS - Absolutely Worth It!

  If you're looking for a luxury resort experience, Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres is the perfect resort to visit. Beautiful views, excellent staff, plenty of entertainment options. They also provide transportation services (fee) for excursions, airport transfers, etc.... We had a preferred club Oceanview king suite. The views were breathtaking! The sunrise and sunset over the Gulf of Mexico provided memorable and magical photo opportunities. Our room butlers and housekeeping staff were professional and courteous and addressed any needs or concerns we may have had.

  October 2026 Honeymoon

  My husband and I went to Secrets Playa Blanca for our honeymoon and they did not disappoint! The resort itself was beautiful including rooms, pool, beach, restaurants, just all of it. We were part of the Preferred Club and Angel & Demi were absolutely amazing! We felt taken care of the entire trip and were truly able to relax and enjoy our time.

  Hard to leave! Incredible food, amazing staff, 10/10. Epitome of luxury

  We had the most wonderful stay at Secrets Playa Blanca and honestly found it so hard to drag ourselves away. The food was 10 out of 10, the resort and amenities were fantastic, and the service was outstanding. Every day felt like a treat, whether we were lounging by the pool, trying a new restaurant or joining in on the activities. There are so many activities to choose from, and the entertainment team keeps every day interesting and fun with their activities and shows. We particularly loved grabbing a coffee at Coco Cafe. The coffee was fantastic and every single staff member there was wonderful. Above all, it was the people who made this stay so special. Every staff member made us feel at home and so well looked after, and we genuinely didn't have a single negative experience with anyone at the resort. A few people really stood out: Entertainment team: These guys were the heart of the resort for us. Julio became a genuine buddy during our stay and we always loved running into him. He threw himself into every activity with so much enthusiasm and made everything fun. Sergio was the same, an absolute legend to chat with, and you could tell how passionate he is about his job. Cher brought so much bubbly energy to every activity she ran. Eduardo was a super nice, humble guy, and for the record I beat him at bocce fair and square. He was always alongside another lovely member of the team whose name we forgot to write down, but we're sure they'll know who we mean. Thank you both! Butlers: Chris and Duran looked after us in Building 1 and their service was excellent from start to finish. Pools and bars: Jose Garcia at the pool front was kind, attentive, fun and so easy to chat to. Henry at the the Preferred Club pool was a really lovely guy, always attentive and clearly great at his job. Hugo at the beach bar gave us excellent service every time. Seaside Grill: Sergio was polite, kind and a genuinely good guy. Erick looked after us on our last dinner the night before we departed, and was lovely as well. Housekeeping: Paola was amazing. Our room was spotless every single day. Her attention to detail is unmatched! Bell staff: David was a really nice guy and gave us great service. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable stay. We can't wait to come back and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing luxurious stay.

  Excellente!! Bravo!!

  Everything was perfect from the beginning to end. We were greeted promptly on arrival and checked in by friendly staff. Lorenzo our butler, was awesome. He showed us the property and then showed us our room and all the amenities available. The room was beautiful! He along with Gloria kept us updated on the daily activities and they answered our text quickly. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and everything seemed clean. Isaias the pool attendant in the preferred pool and beach area was amazing. He set our chairs up and cleaned our eyeglasses and was funny too. The food was excellent. We ate at Barefoots, Oceania, Coco Cafe, and Market Place. The staff were great as well. And the spa!!!!! Absolutely loved it. Beautiful!! The hydro therapy area was beautiful and I had a great massage (cant remember his name). Unfortunately, we came here for a wedding which the wedding planning team did an outstanding job and the set up was beautiful! Bottom line, we will be back on day!
