  Great views and relaxing spot, overall experience just okay.

  We’d rate Secrets Puerto Los Cabos about 3.5/5. The location is fantastic – close to San José with easy access to Flora Farms and the Art Walk – and our oceanfront room had beautiful views and was well cared for (kudos to housekeeping and concierge Carlos). That said, the resort, food, and service were just average compared to other Secrets we’ve stayed at. Staff often felt transactional, and the Preferred Club liquor selection was a letdown – upgraded brands like Tito’s and Absolute ran out for days, leaving only Smirnoff, with no urgency to restock. Same story with tequila. Preferred breakfast at Portofino was also slow and uncomfortably cold (servers were handing out what looked like table runners as shawls, lol). Overall, not a bad stay for the price and great for relaxing with nearby offsite options, but we left with more of an “eh” than a “wow.” Next time, we’d likely spend more dinners off property.

  Mother nature wasn't kind and resort not 5 stars

  Our experience was much different than most. It started with a flying ant infestation in our room on Day 1. We had to pack our things and get out quickly because they were crawling all over the bed, walls, floor and luggage. We were there the week of the earthquake and hurricane. The day after the hurricane we woke up to quarter-sized spiders crawling in the bathroom, bed, walls and floor. We frantically called the front desk. They said they would send maintenance to "fumigate" which really meant using their version of RAID to spray. We tried really hard to be understanding but couldn't shake the unfortunate events of the week and decided to depart early. The resort was not up to a 5 star standard. Below are the pros and cons of this resort. We chose this location for the reviews and the past 2 experiences with Secrets. Pros: Beautiful grounds, well manicured and we enjoyed reading the labels of what each plant was. The separate check-in area for Hyatt rewards members was a nice touch We had wonderful service at El Patio from Carlos. He recommended different food choices on the menu, was very friendly and even remembered our names the next day at the buffet. The servers at the pool busted their bums in the heat. Very accommodating to everyone's requests. Cons: Some of the public restrooms did not have toilet seats or locks on the stalls. The bottom of the pool needs to be cleaned daily, not just use the skimmer on the top. There were dead roaches at the bottom as well as empty glasses around the tree areas in the pool. Entertainment staff was not friendly or energetic. I can't even tell you who they were except for by their shirts. Other resorts have activities and the staff walks around the pool trying to get you involved. We wanted to play blackjack one day but couldn't find where they were. The "theater" is in the conference building and lacks sufficient AC. It was uncomfortable to sit there while sweating. We are early eaters and found the buffet wasn't fully ready when we arrived, they were still setting up stations which limited the food options. We recommend going off the resort. Uber is very convenient. We went into the Los Cabos downtown area for a massage and shopping. Did the Arch which was nice also. Tips: If you are prone to mosquitoes bring spray. They attacked us at the pool (which was annoying and uncomfortable)

  Very nice all inclusive

  This is a very nice resort, all resorts on the ocean are constantly updating and repairing things. We thought the food was very good for an all inclusive. Preferred club, we just didn't really see the benefit. Only one bartender on duty almost always and very small. Don't go here if you like to actually get in the ocean but we thought the service was excellent, rooms were immaculate each day. Entertainment is lacking but definitely a great all inclusive.

  First Cabo Experience

  Excellent stay even with Lorena trying to wreck it. Beautiful resort and Cabo is stunning. Ivan and his entertainment team made it even more fun.

  Great Couples Trip

  Resort is much nicer than online photos. We stayed in an ocean front swimout (PC). We were there during three small earthquakes and a small hurricane. We felt like they could have done a better job accomodating our requests to extend our stay given the resort was operating at 50% for a day after storm. They did a great job with the staff they had, but ultimately fell short accomodating and differentiaing services to PC guests compared to regular guests after the down period (we paid more so we should have received more, under the circumstances). Oceano was closed for breakfast and dinner the entire time, but we ate PC breakfast at Portofino. We were hoping for a little more life at the desires disco but we still had fun (M-TH) music was on every night. We think the PC pool could have had a little music (even soft music vs none) and more chairs. Overall we had a great time and we would come back.
