Great resort and amazing music!
My wife and I spent one week at the resort as part of a business "reward" event. Our experience at Secrets was very pleasant. Our room had a great view on the ocean, there was many options for food and dining and the resort had many activities and optional excursions available. The hotel also helped organize special events for our company involving more than 300 people, which were all fabulous. What really made it stand out for me was the artists they invited for shows and music at the resort. We even had a very talented violinist, Xavier, playing during a normal diner at their italian restaurant. It made the moment magical. Thank you Xavier!

Would not recommend this hotel, staff was over worked and a/c was broken. No beach access, rooms out dated and very few choices for food.

Large business rewards trip
Great atmosphere, location and good. Good collaboration with Amstar in providing many options for excursions. The beach is pretty however you cannot go into the water at this location due to tides.

Starting with the Pros: The staff are friendly, the grounds are well maintained, the views are beautiful. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable. Shower water pressure is good and always hot. There are a couple of pools, a gym, a spa, a court, resort activities and excursions. Close to a golf course. There is 24/7 room service. About a 30 min drive from the airport. 10-15 minute Uber drive into the local town. Live entertainment and themed lunches at the pool on certain days. Disco bar at night. Live entertainment at piano lounge at night. Coco Cafe serves the best coffee. Now the Cons: There is a beach but it’s a trek to get to (lots of steep stairs) and the rip currents make it impossible to swim in. In fact guests are told to stay away from the water altogether. Given this, the beach area is desolate: no chairs, no service and rarely used. So if you’re looking for a beach experience, this is not it. There is no smoking on the resort - this includes cigarettes, cigars, vaping etc. For that, you’ll have to go outside of the property by the front gates and on the beach - again, treacherous to get to. The alcoholic drinks are terrible. We’ve visited a few resorts and this place by far served the worst drinks. Super watery, bland tastes and low grade alcohol - there were times we questioned if alcohol was in fact used. The beer was the only drink that satisfied. As a first time visitor to this resort and area of Mexico, this was a good experience , but it did lack some of the finer touches you’d expect from a five star all inclusive.
