Great Experience
We recently spent a week in Punta Cana at Secrets Royal Beach and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. The nightly entertainment was pleasant and fun, and the staff working at the restaurants and around the pool were wonderful. Across the board, everyone went above and beyond to ensure guests received excellent service. In particular, Romoncito stood out—he worked tirelessly with a cheerful smile all day long and made everyone feel welcome. The food was better than average, and the fresh fruit was absolutely fantastic. Our room was okay—we had expected a bit more, but there’s no complaint from us. A good review doesn’t even come close to doing the staff here justice—they are absolutely amazing in every way, from the moment you walk in at the front desk to the moment you check out. The swim-up bar team, especially Alex and his crew, delivered perfect service every single time. The Barefoot Grill staff also kept us smiling throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned daily, the fridge was always stocked, and fresh towels were consistently provided. Huge thanks to the housekeeping and room service teams for doing such a great job. The pool activities were always fun, different, and interactive. Flower helped us with poolside painting, and we had so much fun bringing our canvas home. I can’t say enough good things about the buffet staff—they were incredibly kind and helpful. Every time we sat down to eat at one of the restaurants, the wait staff provided warm, attentive service with a smile. Every second spent here made me not want to leave. The resort staff truly treats you like family. An unforgettable experience from start to finish—I can’t wait to come back! The Secrets resort was a beautiful facility but lacked the service and food quality expected with a resort that is advertised at this caliber. Even with Preferred Member status, the food provided at the buffets had a cafeteria or concession stand quality that did not meet our expectations. The staff at the buffet was courteous and attentive. The butler assigned to our room was never seen after we were taken to our room. His responses to communication were delayed which significantly limited our access to activities that required a reservation. Specifically spa treatments. When asked to provide clean linens, we were forced to go to the front desk to speak to a manager. It was only then, 6 hours and 3 requests later that the issue was addressed. At the beach, the advertised service was non-existent on day one. Overall, disappointed for the premium rates and upgrades that were paid.
