Nov 18, 2025Sheraton Bouganvilia - Nice resort, with some exceptions
It was a lovely resort, kept well maintained, staff were very friendly. The area was quite compact, the big swimming pool was lovely. The restaurant menus were interesting and the food was excellent. Serving staff were very friendly. The resort's Sunday brunch was excellent. On Thursday evening they had a Mexican Fiesta with a huge outdoor buffet and mariachi band and folk dancers. This was very nice and entertaining. If anyone wants to know about beach/ocean access this is not the place to swim or frolic in the waves. The water is littered with huge boulders which make ii dangerous to swim, etc. However, there were a few things we were dissatisfied with: - the bedroom was big and clean however, while we expected a Queen or King bed there were two beds that we are not even sure were double beds. We had requested a garden view. We got a view of a few trees and the roof of the buffet restaurant. (not impressed...) - We were told by staff that there would be live entertainment in one of the bars on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. There was none. - We had expected traditional Mexican food at times but there was little other than the Thursday buffet. - The evening buffet was probably the worst we have ever seen at an all-inclusive. While salads were nice the rest of the food was not interesting and repetitive, potatoes or rice or mac and cheese, lasagna, which they called cannaloni, steamed mixed veggies and bbq meat (the same meat every night). There were no encheladas, quesadeas, tacos, mexican rice, refried beans.... etc. except some items in the lunch pool bar menu.

First time in the area,went during day of the dead. We really enjoyed the property and the surrounding . Very walkable to downtown,about 15 minutes. Felt very safe walking around at night as well. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The margarita was on point ! Food was delicious, however i much preferred Punta Sal over Gaviotas . You can make restaurant reservation before 2 pm on the day for each restaurant though it wasn't busy during our visit so reservation was not necessary . Some items in restaurants are not included for all inclusive but there are plenty of options if you don't want to pay extra. Check the restaurant schedules since they are not all opened everyday . We got ocean view with balcony room and it was very specious .The bed was very very comfortable. Rain shower was amazing after a hot day by the pools. Air conditioning was tricky,needed to make sure the sensor from the patio allied perfectly for the AC to work. Room service was available 24/7 with quite small menu but it was convenient for our breakfast ! Plenty of pool chairs and no need to be that person who mark your chair and never show up for it till hours later ! Beach is rocky,i only went for a quick release since it was much closer than the restroom oops! Sale person for the membership waited at the check in to talk to you but they were nice and not aggressive or pushy so we got out pretty easy . There are a few vendors on the beach but security guard of the property made sure they didnt bother anyone but there are there if you want to support them .

Can't wait to come back!
Honestly such a beautiful place to stay. We booked an Ocean View King Bed and we couldn't have asked for a better view. The food was also really good and they had a wide variety of options at the buffet and st the restaurants. I felt like I could eat something different every day without getting sick of the food. We did not want to leave! Can't wait to book with them for our next trip to Puerto Vallarta :)

Fun
Ping pong, bocce ball, and volleyball was fun to play with the Jimena and Mariana. The food was delicious I hope to come back one day.

We didn’t want to leave
We enjoyed our stay at both the hotel & the time share. The amenities are very nice. The staff are what made this 10 day stay very special. The first person we met was Monica, she was very happy, kind & helpful. Our favorite towel boy was Simon, he went out of his way to help us and even gave us tips on our Spanish. Our pool server Manuel was very good about keeping us full and happy. The real highlight to our trip was the activity staff! Mariana, Jimena, Luis and Ernesto (Neto) made our trip so much fun. They love helping the guest have fun. We didn’t want to leave!
