Underwhelming, disappointing and quite odd
It’s hard to fault the Fijian travel experience, especially with such lovely and accommodating people, however this was a disappointing resort - saying it respectfully. It seemed that one odd experience was followed by another, several times. The cleanliness and staff at this Sheraton are good. Rooms are clean on arrival, pools kept regularly clean, staff always polite and friendly. It all helps us learn to go with the flow as we always do in Fiji, as things can go wrong but we try to take it easy and move on. The odd parts were when feedback was requested and shared, there’d be promises of action and no further action follows. In one on-site restaurant, the insects got so bad that they turned off the lights and we ate in darkness. We took my son the next day to reception to ask if there was anything that could be done to treat the bites from that dinner, and were told we can go to the medical centre if we wanted to (up to us we were told). At another on-site dinner, the fish came out cold and raw, yet was left for 15 mins before they reluctantly took it to recook. Rooms were never cleaned before 3pm and most days after 5pm. I emailed the manager after they contacted me and a few days later, still no acknowledgment or reply. I had a loyalty staff member contact me the day before checkout so I thought to extend the courtesy and go see her face to face, to explain my feedback and show her the attached photos, which she assured me would be addressed with me before we check out. In her words, I’d been patient and understanding but the ‘recovery of each situation’ is what was lacking. We just checked out. No follow up action, no follow up contact, just a bill with a 3% credit card surcharge and extension of gratitude for staying at Sheraton. As I said, it’s hard to fault a family holiday which is a privilege not an entitlement or right, but it’s also fair to expect an experience aligned to the premium price charged. Hopefully the feedback helps the experience for future travellers.

Beautiful property that truly recognizes Bonvoy status membership
Service, amenities, rooms were all excellent. As a Bonvoy Titanium for life member, I have to say this hotel went above and beyond what I have ever experienced at a Marriott property. They truly recognized my status with upgrade and late check out, even with a large convention at the hotel. The free welcome champagne and local hula/fire show were a really nice addition to our stay. I would book this hotel again when in Fiji

A tale of two cities
This resort is enigmatic. Definitely a “tale of two cities “ Beautifully maintained grounds , amazing friendly breakfast staff, and lovely service staff in the evenings too. The issues sadly here are plentiful however. Don’t bother calling guest services to have room housekeeping done as suggested, because promises made to send staff soon never materialise without a three to four hour minimum delay. It took us 6 requests over two days to obtain some Champagne flutes and wine glasses for our stay. Water bottles seem to be a premium. We asked endlessly for water bottles to the room and again nothing materialised. Our daughters in the adjacent room were woken at 11.30 pm one night to deliver two water bottles that they ordered in the afternoon. This is primarily a safety issue and should never have happened. On the one day we didn’t ask for housekeeping they arrived at 9 am on New Year’s Day. The bar at Tatavu is chaotic. Drinks take forever with numerous staff wandering around not knowing what to do. Don’t go to lunch or dinner to eat in a timely manner. It took an hour to get two small dishes in Tatavu for lunch today. The same can be said for cellar and barrel. The staff in the latter however are absolutely charming. The kitchen is the issue . Our first day at Island 619 and the buffet there was extraordinary, and not in a good way. Sashimi sweating and covered in flies. The displays of food were uninviting and almost hidden. Having worked in food and beverage in hotels and resorts for over twenty years and to see what is happening here is concerning. The wines served outside of cellar and barrel were oxidised indicating wine that has not been looked after properly. ( A chanti that was brown in the glass and a Riesling that was refermenting.!) The site of sweating Penfold bottles in the heat at the entrance of Tatavu a case in point. By contrast, what an extraordinary individual Christine the food and beverage manager is. The site of her taking control at the kitchen of Tatavu was a site to behold. Her attempts to make it all work extraordinary. Whatever she is being paid it should be doubled ! She is an asset that needs to be acknowledged and rewarded. What a shame such a beautiful property has so many issues to address. One can only hope that the General Manger of the hotel is actually reading this and can act on the specifics because there are significant issues that need to be addressed.

A perfect blend of fijian culture, luxury and natural beauty.
A truly beautiful stay and easily one of the best places to stay in Nadi, Fiji. The resort strikes a perfect balance between natural island beauty and understated luxury — everything feels refined yet relaxed. We loved the occasional Fijian cultural activities, which added an authentic local touch without feeling staged. The restaurants were outstanding, offering a great mix of flavours and consistently high-quality dining that made each meal something to look forward to. What really set this place apart was the staff. Every interaction came with a genuine, welcoming smile, and they were always ready to help — attentive without ever being intrusive. Their warmth made the entire stay feel effortless and special. A memorable experience from start to finish. We would happily return and highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Nadi.

Wonderful place to stay to enjoy the magic of Fiji
We stayed for two nights and had such a great experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful, everything was clean, the gardens looked amazing, and the location worked perfectly for what we wanted to do.
