    Lovely place

The hotel - is small and boutique , set on the beach . Multiple apartments The location - small but lovely , right on the beach , 25 mins from the airport by taxi . Island is small so everywhere is close by The food - insane ! Small buffet was unbelievable , scallop curry amazing . The Asian restaurant less so in my opinion but it was all yummy The drinks - cocktails and fruit juices were also amazing !! Margaritas , missipi mud slides and kids stuff was yum and made fresh The pool - small and the bottom is rough , take shoes / socks as my kids soles took a hit . The rooms are lovely , clean , spacious Wildlife - monkey on the balcony , sea turtles in the bay Beach - is good although seaweed everywhere and when bad lots of skies too , snorkels and kayaks to borrow Really lovely place

    Fab time at Sugar Bay

Cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel! Have never had such delicious food at an All Inclusive before, including the special nights in Sizzle and Umi, the choice and quality was superb!! Rooms beautifully cleaned, everything sparkling clean day and night, lots of choice and sunbeds wherever you chose to sit. Staff were amazing:) Always smiling, helpful, friendly, special shout out to Justin and the smashing young chap name beginning with A that made sure our cocktails were always on the go at the beach!! Just beautiful, will be back. Mr and Mrs Suzanne and Tony Andrews.

    Paradise

You are pampered from the minute you arrive. Porters collect your luggage and get you a rum punch while you check in. They take you and your luggage to your room. Resort itself is amazing. Staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food is delicious and always plenty to choose from. Never used the pool and swim up bar because the beach is so beautiful. White sand and crystal clear water. Sugar bay ensures your every wish is catered for, and I can't wait to return.

    Wow!!!

Hotel Wow! What a beautiful hotel Sugar Bay is!!! Absolutely stunning and smells amazing (peppermint). The attention to detail is exquisite. The Wi-Fi password - “Lost in Paradise” sums up this hotel in its entirety. Food I am gluten intolerant and the gluten free food on offer is the best - pancakes, muffins, cake, bread as well as gluten free dishes. It’s one of the best selections I have ever had on holiday (having visited many 4/5 star resorts). In addition, all the staff are extremely knowledgeable about gluten! Yay!!! The food in general was top notch and quite literally, hats off to the buffet chef!!! There is an amazing cocktail selection and Collins Bar is the place to eat at lunchtime. We visited the two à la carte restaurants, the steakhouse and the Thai restaurant both served lovely food. We also went to the mongoose pub which is on the resort and it made for a very late but great fun night. Sea You are very lucky to be able to swim in the sea as this side of the island is known for the sea being very rough. The hotel has invested heavily in making a bay depositing large rocks in the ocean to break the waves. Beautiful! Wildlife One of the highlights for me was that monkeys lived next door to the hotel! Also having just arrived at the hotel, within minutes I was holding baby turtles - Wow what a bucket list moment. Staff Special shout out to front of house staff member Natalie who went above and beyond every time I asked for assistance. Entertainment The entertainment the hotel put on was fabulous. There was something on each evening and some pretty amazing singers. Great location. The hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport. It is safe to go out and about and the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the racetrack and Pebbles Beach. Pebbles beach was another highlight for me. This is where the locals take the race horses to swim in the sea every morning between 5am and 7am. Definitely worth a trip. I paid $20 to ride one of the horses. The hotel is opposite a bus stop so you can get to Saint Lawrence gap in about 5 to 10 minutes drive which has a selection of bars and restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to Saint Oistins on a Friday night which again is approximately 15 minutes away and definitely worth a visit! The hotel is in a perfect location for morning walks. Every morning we went for a walk along the beach and after about 10 minutes walking on the sand there is an amazing boardwalk that stretches for about a mile along the coast and there are little shops along the way for souvenirs as well as bars and restaurants. Excursions Harrison’s cave and the nature reserve are both worth a visit!!! Not forgetting St Lawrence Gap and St Oistins on a Friday! Checkout Upon request and depending upon availability, we were given an extra hour before we had to check out which made timings for our airport transfer perfect. There was no extra charge for this service which was greatly appreciated. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and if I was ever go back to the same place twice, I would definitely be going back here. Thank you so much for such an amazing holiday Sugar Bay. Points to note: The rooms are not cleaned thoroughly as at other hotels I have stayed at. But the maid does come every day and make the bed, sweep the floor, perhaps fresh towels. There are not enough sunbeds around the pool so in our experience most beds are taken by 8am. There is no Mini bar! If you want waters in your fridge, you have to request these at reception. This is probably due to the fact that drinking tapwater is safe but it is not something that my husband and I wanted to do and thought that bottled water should’ve been provided as a minimum in the mini bar. My husband and I visited sugar Bay in 14-24 May 2025 flying from London to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We had great weather during our stay with only a couple of quick tropical rain showers. We were meeting up with our American friends who flew from America to Barbados for our annual reunion. Our friends were celebrating their retirement and what a perfect setting for joint celebrations.

A Dream Come True – Our Magical Stay at Sugar Bay Barbados

Where do we even begin? After 6½ beautiful years together, my partner and I finally took our first proper holiday — and Sugar Bay Barbados made it more than worth the wait. From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in warmth, joy, and genuine Caribbean hospitality that can only be described as soul-nourishing. Every single person we met at Sugar Bay was incredibly kind, welcoming, and full of light. The entire team made us feel so safe, secure, and genuinely cared for — but one person truly stood out: Donella. From the moment we met her, she radiated warmth, compassion, and grace. She was always smiling, always checking in with the kindest words, and made us feel like we were the most important people in the world. Donella wasn’t just amazing — she was the heart of our stay. Her energy was unforgettable, and we feel so lucky to have crossed paths with her. The resort itself is a paradise. White sands, crystal-clear turquoise sea, swaying palms, and the most soul-soothing sunsets you can imagine. Whether we were relaxing by the pool with a rum punch in hand, dining on mouth-watering meals, or taking quiet walks along the beach, every moment felt effortless and filled with joy. Our room was a cosy sanctuary, the food was incredible, and the vibes? Pure bliss. We laughed, we reconnected, we soaked in every single second. This wasn’t just a holiday — it was a celebration of our love story, and Sugar Bay made it absolutely perfect. To the beautiful team — and especially Donella — thank you. You didn’t just host us, you held us in love and light, and we’ll never forget you. We left part of our hearts in Barbados, and we’ll be back to find them again soon! If you’re considering Sugar Bay — go. Don’t think twice. It’s not just a resort. It’s a feeling, a memory, and a piece of paradise that will live in your heart forever!!!!
