Would not recommend
Terrible accommodations and poor hospitality. Booked a double bed room and was provided a room with one bed for 3 people. The staff solution was to bring in a single mattress and wedge into space that was already furnished. We had to rearrange furniture ourselves. We were denied beer in our room. We were told that the room has a 4 beer limit to the room (for 3 people) yet we were never provided more than 2. The food was awful and restaurants were either closed or unavailable for reservations. The staff was not very friendly.

An Honest Review
We travelled from November 25-December 2, 2025. Two couples from Ontario, Canada. The location is absolutely brilliant! Close to the airport so not a long drive. The resort itself is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained and clean. Lovely beach! The room that we were in (building 10109) was dated, needed a bit of repair and wasn’t the cleanest. I always travel with Lysol wipes and use those when I get my room. This room needed a good surface cleaning and the wipes were black when I was done. As an fyi…the closet didn’t have any hangers to hang my dresses and my husband’s dress shirts. Luckily I had brought my own plastic hangers but our travel companions did not so they couldn’t hang anything up. They asked for some and never received them. So maybe bring your own! The bathroom didn’t have any hooks to hang your toiletry bag or clothes when you were getting ready. Not a big deal but just wanted to let everyone know! The bathroom has shampoo and body gel but no conditioner. No problem for me because I always bring my own stuff. There isn’t anywhere in the shower to put your stuff except a very small wire holder that would hold the equivalent of a bar of soap. So you put your stuff on the floor. Again not a huge deal. Just mentioning all the details. Also, I missed having the makeup mirror in the bathroom. Most other resorts we have been to have one. The shower itself is fine and the water was hot with a rain head faucet. Lots of water pressure. Funny enough but the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. The bed was comfortable and clean with two pillow options. Our patio door didn’t shut completely and the locks on both sides were broken as the doors opened from either side. The only way to lock it was a metal pin that was in the middle and went through both doors. Not very secure unfortunately. Our door to the room also had a broken secondary security lock. Again not the best thing to have. Our fridge was not filled daily with water. We always left a tip so this was disappointing. If you are a beer drinker, we had one in the fridge the first day but nothing for the rest of the week. The pool is awesome and clean. We never had difficulty getting chairs and towels. The pool bar is extremely busy and people waited for 15-20 minutes at the bar to be served. Not enough staff for the amount of guests. The buffet was ok. You could find stuff to eat but for the most part, it was the same thing every single day. The buffet is hard to keep stuff warm so it is often cold unless you wait in line at the pasta bar or grill. Unfortunately the staff was not at capacity so the main buffet took a while to get food if you wanted it made fresh. Usually only one chef and the lines were long especially the omelette bar in the morning. We personally liked the Kaleidoscope buffet the best as it was smaller and the food was better. Sometimes we never received any beverages with our meal and the staff didn’t come around very often. We were not certain that the resort was at full staffing capacity so this could account for the issue with getting service. The al a carte restaurants were hard to book on the app and a lot of the time showed as unavailable within a minute of trying to book at 9am. You can’t book in advance but have to do it daily. You have the option to wait in line to have a staff member book for you but often the line was long and you find out the restaurant is fully booked. Not all al la carte restaurants were open every day. Some were every other day so we didn’t get to experience them all. The evening entertainment was really good! They worked so hard to put on amazing shows every night! We loved the coffee shop and the Cafe 2.0. Great staff and good coffee, lattes etc. Our biggest complaint is the fact that people can smoke anywhere. The two coffee shops with the outdoor patio areas have no smoking signs but people disregard them and do it anyway. No one enforces the rules. Beside the main coffee shop there is lots of seating in an area by the lobby. Unfortunately you can’t sit and enjoy your coffee because of the amount of smoke that drifts down into this area. People smoke by the pool, while they are in the pool, on the beach, while walking around and in the seating area of the nightly shows. Some also felt that it was okay to drop their ashes and butts wherever they wanted. So disrespectful to the staff who have to walk behind you and clean it up. A shout out to the smokers who are responsible and respectful of others including the staff and the resort itself. Overall, this is our third time at a Sunscape. It wasn’t our favourite one but we still enjoyed it and had a good time.

10 days sun getaway????
We booked 10 days in this budget resort knowing it wouldn’t be 5 stars but wasn’t 4 stars either like they claimed. Half an hour drive from the airport-not bad, small outdated lobby, check in unorganized and slow even only few of us showed at same time.Grounds are well maintained and lush. Main pool and pool area not cleaned on daily basis. We asked for upper floor close to the beach and were placed in one closest to the lobby and entertainment area-building #3. Upon request we were given nicer quiet room in building 1 but facing back of the resort and construction site with lots of dust on the balcony and all day noise but we spent most of the time on the beach and Sun Club pool anyway. Beach was big disappointment full of seagrass for the first 5 days but did cleared up, don’t think so it will be like one in Mayan Riviera,Cuba or Bavaro beach with turquoise water ever. Also the beach vendors are unbelievable annoying Now about restaurants and food; at the entrance of both buffet unnecessary room number question and guests hand sanitizing!!!! Plastic glasses and plates! Food always the same , some undercooked, some overcooked. Breakfast ;Coffee or tea !!! Hmm you have to beg for it, being ignored from most of the staff is normal . On the weekend when locals come….good luck!!!! No plates, no utensils enough…. This is our 20’ trip over the past 20 years and we never experienced this kind of poor service. Something has to change and it’s coming from the poor management or lack of staff training. There were couple waiters in both buffet restaurants that were trying to make the best with a smile but overall very, very bad service. We will definitely not be back or recommend this resort to friends or family!!! Big thank you to Henry from front desk!!! He knows why

Fab resort spoilt by staff and food quality
We have just returned from this resort. The location and resort are fab. The issue is the staff lazy and rude. After 14 days, it was hit and missed at each meal if all 4 of us had drinks and tables cleared. When we tried to complain, they would say no English just so they didn't deal with it. The food in the buffet was nearly always cold and of poor quality. Trying to book the Al a cart restaurant, you had to go on the app at 9.00 am. and normally just two open in the evening again service and food were poor most of the time. We spoke to other people staying there who also had the same issues and said they wouldn't return. The entertainment was poor, basically just dancers, and even though a large proportion of guests were english speaking (mostly Canadian), very little from the compare was in english do not included. We took loads of cash to tip but the service was so bad we had loads left over, this has never happened before anywhere we have been. We have travelled to lots of countries round the world and this has been the worst experience of all of them. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone and we will never return
