Sunscape was listed as a 4 Star Resort, I would give it a 3 Star and that was pushing it Unfortunately looking at the reviews prior to booking and seeing mostly negative reviews We decided to give it a try The food in the buffet was very limited and very repetitive various restaurants where closed in certain days which limited your choices There were many reviews that indicated the beach was rated a 5 again given we have gone to many other places We would give the beach a 3 star You need water shoes as the stones and coral make it very difficult to get into the water The beach is very small not only in length but also width The room was adequate we were upgraded to Sun Club which was nice The pool area at the Sun Club was good except as per usual many loungers around the pool and under the palapas on the beach get saved by the very early risers That was frustrating I could go on about other negatives but the bottom line is Don’t book this Resort

Dec 11, 2025DO MT BOOL YOUR VACATION AT SUNSCAPE CURACAO
If you are looking for a luxury resort, this should not be your choice. Sunscape Curacao was such a large disappointment to me and my family. this facility is so misrepresented in pictures on various website advertising on their behalf. So many issues plagued this resort. Rooms: very old and antiquated in decor (70's theme). Plumbing was an issue whereas the toilet did not flush, and the bathroom sink did not drain (had to flag down a service worker to assist. Plunging was performed; however, the issue persisted to the point where we had to be relocated). The shower has one glass shower door, thus allowing shower water to gather on the floor (slip and fall hazard (huge liability factor). Air Conditioning - the main air conditioning unit broke down on our 3rd day there (no notification from the main office). We actually watched as a new unit was hoisted in place. No air condition for approximately a day and a half. Mold and Mildew smell in the rooms. One couple had to be relocated to another resort hotel All Inclusive meals: Main Buffet - food was served repeatedly (leftovers). Pans used to prepare the food was filthy and worn out (could have cooked the food on the ground, which would have been better). Specialty food requests were made, and food was not thoroughly cooked (raw meat) Employees were witnessed picking food off the ground and placing the food back on the counter under the cake dooms (no gloves used and food should have been placed in the trash (free coffee station) Two restaurants were closed, thus leaving your dining choices unlimited. Casino entertainment - casino was old and antiquated, thus leaving us unable to utilize this as a form of entertainment. Bought these issues to the attention of a Hyatt representative - no avail. Lodged a complaint through Apple Vacations seeking a refund on our room charges. Was only offered a one-night stay at Hyatt Hotels. Needless to say, we were classified as VIP.

Another great week at Sunscape!
As a repeat vacationer I just love coming back here. The people are wonderful, the entertainment staff keep you busy. Beautiful beachWarm waters who can ask for anything more! I will say that they have stepped up the food in the buffet. Favorite is blue water and italian for dinners. We like our room in the tower facing pool. We get the second or third floor closer to the water. You get great views on the pool side. Happy to hear that mambo beach isn't as loud as it used to be on the nights that they had their music going. The pool was clean. You do need to arrive early to get front row lounges at the beach. Can't wait to come back next december! Props to a few people Marvett, Crazy G , Candyman, Breezy, Kenny & our bocci ball buddy, Venold.

When you come to Sunscape look beyond the dated resort. Our room was huge. The ocean view was beautiful every night. The beach was clean. This was our first time to Curacao and we will be coming back but to the beachfront rooms. In the resort we were in building 2. If you like quiet evenings, building 2 west side is not for you. Because it’s dated some things didn’t work in our room. A/C worked at about 30%. We set it at 18*C on high, felt like 22*C. The faucet in the bathroom sink didn’t work on either the cold or hot side. Not sure because it always came out warm at best. The fridge in the room…..didn’t work. Asked the front desk and we were told it’s not a fridge, it’s a chiller. A chiller that didn’t chill very well. If you want quiet on the beach, the beach away from the pools and buffet is a good spot. We hunkered down under the trees because we liked the shade. They would come around everyday and rake the sand to make it clean of debris. Mimi made me smile everyday. AND the reason we will come back….. the staff and the food. Every staff member we saw regularly was amazing. Shout out to Edmay, Nathaly, Silvia, Jorge, Fabiola and my favorite bartender that i wish i could remember her name but we would just holler “Dushi”to each other. dushi is term of endearment here. The resort was full and they worked so hard to make everyone feel loved and appreciated. And the food was always good wherever we ate. Thank you to the staff for making us fall in love with Curacao.
