Our Happy Place - Never Disappoints!
From the seamless reservation process to the warm welcome at check-in, this hotel gets everything right. The staff are outstanding – friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. Special shoutouts to Alberga, Nadia, Phyllis, Delma, Kathleen, Doris, Francis, Marcia, Martina, Edith, Mayra, Allissa, Lea, Dion, and many others who made our stay extra special. The views at this resort are spectacular, the beaches are spotless and inviting, and the food is wonderful. The breakfast buffet alone is worth the trip! Every visit feels like coming home, and it truly never disappoints. Our absolute go-to destination and the best hotel experience we’ve ever had.

I'd Give More Than 5 Stars If Trip Advisor Allowed It.
We can't say enough wonderful things about The Buccaneer and our entire trip! Everyone was so hospitable and wonderful to be around, and the beaches are amazing! The resort is very clean and sits on top of a beautiful cliff overlooking the water. Everything from golfing on the resort to our trip to Buck Island for snorkeling was pure joy. We can not wait to come back!!

RIPPED OFF BY BOOKING DIRECT
DO NOT EVER BOOK DIRECT WHEN I MADE THIS RESERVATION THE BOOKING.COM RATE WAS $300 PLUS $98 for room, tax and surcharge when I checked in they had charged me the $399.49 plus $57.43 for room tax and $59.92 for a surcharge for a total of $516.84 That is an extra $118.84 a day times for three days four total of $356.52 When I spoke to Chadanice in the Reservations department of 1 check out. They said they cannot do anything. We should’ve booked through another website What Hotel tells you that it is better for you to use another booking platform instead of directly booking through the hotel I have been 20 years in my business doing Dolphin Safari Charters in Key West, Florida and never ever ever. Do you tell somebody that it is cheaper to book through another platform then through you directly they should have matched that price that is all I’m asking for. Absolutely disgusted and feeling ripped off, which is not what you want for a customer

We recently returned from a one week stay at The Buccaneer resort. The trip was very enjoyable and we were pleased with the resort. Many thanks to Elisa and Jo-el at the front desk for being so friendly and accommodating. Also, our server Linda at The Mermaid restaurant and the two ladies at the Mermaid beach bar were also very friendly and provided great service. The resort and grounds were very well maintained. The property is hilly and no matter where you stay you will be dealing with the terrain. The resort does provide courtesy shuttles to get you around the property if you choose not to walk. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room in the Tennis Villas which had several annoying issues. These included towel racks that pulled out of the wall, a curtain that would not close and our front door that would not latch shut. The problems were fixed, but sometimes not as quickly as we had hoped. Our biggest issues with the resort were the service in the restaurants and the price of the meals. Taxi service to town was a bit expensive, $7.50/person each way before tip, so we decided to stay on the property for our meals. As others mentioned, we found the service in all the restaurants to be extremely slow. In addition, the servers did not check with us during the meal to see if we were ok and needed anything. It also took for ever for us to get our bill. Unfortunately, a 20% tip is automatically included on the check which provides no incentive to provide good service. The dinner entrees were generally $35 and up. A hamburger and fries was $24. The food was very good with decent portions. We also enjoyed the large American breakfast buffet. As a note, all of the restaurants are open air with no AC. On the positive side, other than the restaurant service, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We liked the Welcome Reception / Cocktail party and the history and nature walk of the grounds. The Mermaid beach was very clean, with few shells and lots of shade. Bugs were not an issue for us. We kayaked and snorkeled on the beach. The snorkeling was generally poor with minimal fish life.
