Worse Experience at a Hotel Ever!
This was quite possibly the worst experience I have had at a supposed “5 star Hotel”. Unfortunately an unforeseen immigration issue prevented my fiancé from meeting me in Cancun so I had to alter my plans at the hotel. I arrived today (Sunday) and was greeted by the front desk staff named Aaron. I had to make an emergency modification to my reservation and Aaron directed me to call Amex for this considering I used them as my third party intermediary. After I got someone at Amex to help Aaron I put them on the phone with Aaron and he said that Amex had to call the back reservation department. Amex then called that department and after about 15 minutes of waiting Amex reported to me that they were unable to help me with my reservation because there were no managers available. I then asked Aaron about this and he said yes “I am the only one that you can talk to”. He basically sent me on a wild goose chase and wasted my time. He was extremely unprofessional, unhelpful and lacked any sort of general customer service skills. I got so fed up with the lack of service I booked at the Waldorf not to far away and had a much more pleasant experience. The limited time I wad there I saw extremely large cockroaches and stray cats everywhere. Buyer beware! Definitely not worth the money for such disgusting customer service and cleanliness!!!

Luxury at it’s finest
If you’re looking for a hotel in Cancun with the charm of a traditional luxury hotel look no further it’s truly incredible. We checked in after having an unpleasant experience at the Hyatt playa del Carmen ( avoid it is shocking) we opted for the all inclusive package and don’t think we have ever experienced service like this anywhere else in the world from the quality of the food to the staff. Michelin star quality fine dining. We read a few reviews that said the hotel is tired. If you call beautiful chandeliers and marble floors tired then yes it is lol.

EXCELLENT HOTEL. Excelent service, from their reception all the way to room service, restaurants. Clean, majestic. The breakfast. True spirit to serve. Amazing facilities. Get a massage it is all 100% goodness. All mony well invested. I highly recommend for people who value money towards tier one service.

Amazing Vacation
If you're looking for a place where you can truly be pampered, this hotel is a perfect choice. Unlike other bustling venues, you won't find large noisy crowds or have to fight for a seat here. Instead, the hotel offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, where exceptional service ensures you can unwind and enjoy your stay. The absence of blaring music allows you to soak in the soothing sounds of waves lapping against the shore of a beautiful crystal blue ocean. Dining options abound, both within the hotel and just a few minutes away, catering to every palate. Additionally, the hotel is a short 20-minute drive from the airport, making it highly accessible for a day of sun and sand. All of this comes at a reasonable price, making it an ideal choice for your next getaway.

Kempinski Hotel Cancun May 2025
Stayed at the Kempinski for a long Memorial Day weekend with my 14 year old daughter and her friend. The hotel was very accomodating to me as I really needed a connecting room and booked really late. There was a $99 charge per night for this which I thought was odd, but maybe this is the norm as I have really never had connecting rooms before. One month ago I was in Cancun and stayed at the JW Marriott so I have pretty decent current knowledge to compare the two. JW has an up on the Kempinski in terms of an updated hotel upon first arrival and updated rooms. But the Kempinski's lobby seemed much nicer and formal. My suite at the JW had a way better updated bathroom. Although the Kempinski rooms are shouting for an update, they are clean and nice. Bathroom tub was kind of odd and shower was small - but the water pressure was fine. Towels are a sure sign to me of a bad hotel vs good vs excellent 5 star. I would say they were ok? The pool area at the Kempinski was a barren wasteland - when you look at it you are not sure it is even open or if there are any guests at the hotel whatsoever. Don't worry about snagging a chair because there are a ton and only about 5 in use. That being said - plenty of chairs and the attendants are there to help set up an umbrella, so that was great. Super quiet and clean. If you are looking for a wild party you can go down the street to the hard rock hotel I guess (no thanks). JW has an up on the pools. Only had breakfast at the hotel and I ordered off menu two days and did the buffet two days. The buffet (as are all buffets in my opinion) was eh. The items I ordered off the breakfast menu were very good. JW breakfast was complete garbage. At Kempinski, you have to really fight the wait staff to let you order off the menu as they really push the buffet. I had to get really stern and fought my way to it. But the fight is worth it to get decent hot food. The gym was really good and comparable to any high end hotel I've been to. Machines were great. I really hope that the Kempinski group puts this on their list for updating. This was a great value for the money. Quiet and clean. But almost so quiet I am not sure if they are planning to close it down next week.
