Lost some of its magic as of September 2025
My first trip to this hotel in 2023 was absolutely amazing but as of September 2025, it’s lost some of its magic (in my opinion). In 2023, I visited alongside my sister and her family, and we had a very enjoyable time. While planning my mother-daughter trip this year, I was excited to show my mom this place I had gushed about! Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. Pros: - We were welcomed nicely and got a complimentary room upgrade. - Most of the staff were still as lovely as I remembered. - They helped us find an item that was left behind. - The beach has less seaweed than some other resorts. Cons: - The welcome dessert I received in 2023 no longer existed. It wasn’t a need but was a pretty nice touch that didn’t exist this time. - The room smelled musty when we checked in. It got better with the AC on. - Also, you’re now entitled to only two complimentary bottles of water a day. That was new but we assumed it could be recession-related. - Our reservation included breakfast and on the last morning, a wait staff acted like we weren’t eligible to eat there. He claimed we had checked out the day before (with a weird attitude) until he confirmed we hadn’t. It’s a little sad to see what it’s become. We were pretty excited to leave and that isn’t what a great time should feel like. Fortunately, we got to continue our trip at another resort where we felt really pampered! Unfortunately, our relatives who were meant to visit Kempinski will no longer be doing so because vacations should feel dreamy.

Only staying here from now on!
I loved it here! The hotel was so clean and all the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The spa was the best massage I’ve had in so long (thank you Yeni, Ariana, Kimberly). I can’t wait to visit again!

More than a holiday!
It was so much more than just a holiday! My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Kempinski Cancun, and I want to thank the whole team for making it so memorable. From the beginning, Leonardo helped us with booking and all our requests before we even arrived, and he did so with so much care. Daniel Aguirre and his team also made the room swap really straightforward for us, which took away any stress. The front desk team were always kind and attentive, which made us feel at home right away. A very special thank you to Margarita and the Corral de Protección Cancun team, who gave me the chance to take part in the baby turtle release at 5 a.m. That experience is something I’ll never forget. Another highlight was when the Ladies in Red surprised my daughter with a cake to celebrate her GCSE results. It was such a thoughtful gesture that really touched us. Breakfast each morning was a joy, not only because of the food but also thanks to Carlos, Veronica, and others who shared their stories of Mexico with us. At the Beach Club, Edgar and Manuel looked after us so well, and the housekeeping team kept everything spotless. At the spa, Ana and Teresa created such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. And of course, the chefs, every meal was delicious, with the fish of the day at Casitas and the Sunday Mexican breakfast being real highlights. The housekeeping was impeccable, with a sweet touch every night before we settled for our night's rest. We met so many wonderful people during our stay, and every member of staff made us feel welcome and cared for. We left with happy memories and a feeling of warmth, and we’re already looking forward to returning.

Exceeded all of our expectations! This will now be our "place" we return to year after year!
Just returned from our 3rd trip to this property (first 2 times were as the Ritz) so we were interested to see how the property was since becoming a Kempinski. Let me tell you, it is just as grand as before! Everything felt just as it was as the Ritz, if not BETTER! The staff and service were top notch. Best service we have ever received. Everyone was so kind, helpful, friendly, and really went above and beyond. All of the staff we interacted with have been there for years and many we remembered. I wanted to give a special thanks to Alberto at El Cafe for breakfast every morning who prepared a local dish from different regions to my husband each morning. I also want to give huge praise to Jorge and Claudio at Fantino for going above and beyond to secure souffle after learning I was sad the Club Grill was closed for refurb. They worked with the pastry team to get the ingredients and had a souffle ready for me the next time- what service! Blanca at the D Lounge who always has a warm smile and friendly service. Hilda in the shops who helped us pick out swimsuits for our kids and our room attendant Juliana was superb. Last but not least, Wilbur (Willy) in the club lounge was great! Not only did we appreciate the service with the mentioned people above, we also enjoyed our conversations. There are so many more, I am sorry I did not get everyone's names. The pool and beach attendants were also fantastic. If you are worried about the seaweed- the hotel hires a crew to maintain the beach and they work hard keeping the sand seaweed free. We did have a couple days with heavy seaweed IN the water, but it would some days clear out over night. So if you have a bad seaweed day, give it a day or 2 and it clears up! All in all, our expectations were surpassed and we already plan to return in the spring! Thank you to everyone at Kempinski Cancun and we will see you next year!

9 Nights in Paradise!
My wife and I spent 9 nights at Hotel Kempinski Cancun, and every single day felt like a dream. The service was nothing short of amazing — every staff member we met was warm, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless, thoughtful, and first-class. We’ve stayed in many luxury hotels, but this one truly stands out. Can’t wait to return! I feel bad naming just a few of the members of the team but I have to thank Andres, who kept our room impecable, Jose and Briseida who served us breakfast and gave us tips about how to best enjoy our visit, Moises who took care of us for diner time and enlighten our time with insightful conversations, Mariana who greeted us for diner with a smile and kindness and finally the valet who always greeted us with a smile and gave us advice when we went out.
