  Great stay, highly recommend

  Great resort for family vacation! If you are looking for "luxury", this is not the place for you. But our family had a great stay here. Plenty of staff on hand for check in. We were absolutely given the room we reserved (oceanfront). After check in, Concierge was a bit aggressive trying to "assist" us with reservations and future stays. But we just said no, and that was that. Our two bedroom lock-off room was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens. Not huge, but plenty of space. Clearly recently updated with new furniture, TVs, fresh paint, etc. Every amenity was there. Loved the in-room washer/dryer (many Vacation Clubs do not have this). They even provided complementary laundry detergent. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, toaster, blender, etc. They provided a couple days of coffee. Plenty of towels, TP, etc. They only offer housekeeping 1x per week, but will come more times for a small fee if needed. We didn't need/want more than once. The rooms were spotless upon check in. The whole resort was very, very clean. Pools very nice. There were the typical crazy people hoarding chairs at 7 am every day. But we never had a problem getting chairs later in the morning around 8-9 am. High season this is to be expected. The pool staff always offered to help set-up, but they were in no way pushy. Food/drink service readily available, but not aggressive at all. Our family took advantage of pickball courts (they have drop-in every morning), mini golf, pools, ping pong, and fitness center. There are new fitness centers--both are very small--and very crowded. One of the few negatives of the resort. Lots of activities during the day like Trivia, volleyball, contests, etc. Always something going on, but definitely all family friendly. There is a 3-4 happy hour every day, so it's fun and festive, but not a party-vibe pace, which we appreciated. We had one meal at Duna sports bar--it wasn't great. But we didn't care about the resort food--there are so many great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, we wanted to take advantage of those! The location of this hotel is ideal - not in the seedy party of town, but not isolated - nice mall across the street, grocery 10 min walk, restaurants and various water activities also very walkable. We walked the beach many times and closely examined the other hotels on the strip--we felt so happy to be at the Westin. The staff everywhere at the resort was delightful--super friendly, helpful, NOT pushy at all.

  Family vacation

  For starters it's a really nice resort. Very clean and in a great location as it is accross the street from La isla mall. The pools were nice and clean. With the smaller pool being more low key and laid back. The water slide was cool. Food options on the resort were not that good at all. But they have happy hour every day and drinks are cheap. The room has a jacuzzi and full kitchen. And they have grills in the courtyard with two grocery stores close by, including one on the resort. There’s a putt putt golf course on the resort as well as a kids lounge/rec room. There was two roaches in my room in the course of the week that I was there. And the beach was filled with seaweed in August!

  Amazing resort, perfect location, with excellent pools and beach

  Location is perfect, with isla mall directly across the street. Close to all the action but still a quiet and clean resort.

  Holiday Stay

  Too bad renovations were ongoing during this busy holiday season—it was a bit disappointing since the lobby space was significantly reduced. If you stayed in nearby buildings (e.g., Buildings 4, 5, or 6), you pretty much had to pass through the lobby every time you went to the pool. This was especially inconvenient when in a bathing suit, since there’s only one accessible elevator down to Level 1 (ground level), which leads to the pool and eventually the beach. That said, overall it was still a great stay! They’ve really ramped up the activities (this was my 6th or 7th visit over the years). I do wish there were more evening activities or options geared more toward adults, though. Huge shoutout to Victor for the awesome tequila tasting and education session (I wasn’t a tequila drinker before, but I’m officially converted!), Patricia for the daily 9am yoga sessions—she keeps things fresh and challenging for us regulars with new moves every day—and lastly Alejandro, the fun and energetic team captain who coordinated activities like Bingo, Aqua Moves, Salsa Dancing, and beach volleyball 🙂 Once again, it truly felt like my home away from home.

  Choose another place

  Mediocre at best and got scammed on tours. HORRIBLE room over looking construction (who worked every day from 7 am until 10 pm!). Really, we got the worst room in the resort. WHY? All people want is tips and money here. Even at the resort, they have vendors who hassle you when you walk to the pool or beach! Did two tours, got scammed on one and they tried on another. Food is REALLY pricey for not great food and you are stranded (crappy restaurants at the 'fancy' mall across the street). Go elsewhere, we will in the future.
