  What a great find - perfect place for a peaceful getaway - only 20 minutes away from Malecon/Zona romantica

  Had a really enjoyable week here with family in May. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and our Bonvoy status was recognized. We had a wonderful bi-level Penthouse suite which worked out well for us travelling as a group of 3, since this suite had two full bathrooms. The view from the room was amazing and the housekeeping did a great job. There is a nice quiet beach in front of the hotel with beds and umbrellas. The pool area was expansive with an abundant amount of beds and umbrellas and shade. We would like to thank Angel Cibrian at the pool bar who went above and beyond during our stay. He provided a great service to us and made sure that we had a wonderful time. Thank you Angel! There are a number of places to eat at the hotel offering different cuisines and the prices and quality is reasonable. If you want to venture out, the Marina is walking distance with a number of restaurants and just a nice area to take a stroll. Every member of the team at this resort were professional, charming, and very responsive to requests, we wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future! Also thanks to Gaby/Gabriela at the pool, Angel at the breakfast service and Gael at the Flora bar. The hotel is just a short 10 minute hop from the airport.

  A most pleasant experience

  The facility is fine, and improvements are being made. The best part of the experience is the staff. They were all uniformly wonderful — cheerful, helpful, just plain nice, personable and friendly. We will certainly be going to the Westin PV in the future.

  We will be back!

  We had an absolutely incredible long weekend stay at the Westin! The Westin team was friendly, accommodating, and professional. The activities director, Okimy went above and beyond for us multiple times and for that we are extremely grateful! Him and his team (Jesus) provided us with beach front cabanas, chocolate cake, and restaurant recommendations for my partners birthday. We took an amazing guacamole class with him and his team as well - delicious, we highly recommend! The breakfast staff was a joy to see every morning. I'm disappointed I didn't catch more of their names as they were absolutely lovely. We were given the best service by all of our servers and bartenders, specifically Carlos, the beachfront server. He was friendly and attentive throughout the entirety of our stay. We spent an afternoon at the spa enjoying all of the amenities, finishing off with massages from Roger and Angelica. Ari from the front desk was charismatic and welcoming from arrival until departure. The rooms were cleaned beautifully each day. The bell hops and front desk staff were lovely and informative. There was minor construction going on during our stay but truthfully we didn't even notice. I wish we could name drop every staff member that we interacted with all weekend. I would recommend this resort to everyone. Thank you all for such a lovely stay! We will be back.

  Relaxing 5 days!

  We chose the Westin based on its location at the Marina Vallarta and close proximity to the airport. The Taxis are a fixed price from the airport, or you just can Uber/DiDi by crossing the pedestrian bridge from outside the terminal. The hotel is just 10 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes to the Zona Romantica. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff at the hotel upon arrival and given a glass of champagne. The rooms were well appointment in typical Westin style, with amazing bed and sheets. Water and ice stations on each floor. The view across the beach and bay was wonderful. The pool area is vast, with plenty of beds and umbrellas. A big thank you to Angel Cibrian who looked after us the entire time at the Tlaquepaque pool bar. He was awesome! We would have lunch there every day. Although there is some renovation work going on, which we were advised of in advance, this did not interfere with our stay. There are numerous places to eat and drink on site, and with more looking like they will be open in the future. If you’re feeling more adventurous, the Marina is walking distance with a number of shops and restaurants. Our Bonvoy loyalty was acknowledged a number of times during our stay and included a complimentary breakfast for two each day. Thank you also to Angel at breakfast at Arricifes. All in all we had a great time and would look to visit again in the future. The whole team at this hotel made our time feel special with our family. Also a shout out to Gaby (Pool/Entertainment) , Gael (Lobby bar) and Jesse - Poolside F&B. Thank you all!

  Not recommended

  Giving this hotel 4 stars is beyond generous. We had originally booked The Mariott but about a month before our stay, they contacted us and said they were cancelling us because they had a large group coming in they offered to switch us to The Westin and we agreed. During the reservation process the agent on the phone told me the store was under construction - more than misleading - absolutely everything is UNDER CONSTRUCTION including landscaping outside our room which resulted in constant noise from the workers. Almost every bar/restaurant/store/ice cream shop is CLOSED and under construction. The property is run-down and dated. The "junior suite" is a bedroom, nothing about it is a "suite" it is a large one bedroom with one draw that worked and two that you could not open or close easily. There was no other furniture to store clothing. The room did not contain any information about the hotel, no way to find out about restuarants/menus/amenities (that were open -there were two open restaurants), no information about the spa, etc. Maid service was lacking and a day didn't go by where we didn't have to call due to a shortage of towels, no tissues, etc. The pool is not heated and it is hard to find an available chaise. The entry areas had uneven surfaces and people were falling like crazy since it was hard to walk on. There is a children's pool but children were in every pool. The best part about the hotel is the staff - very friendly and accomodating. Shame on you Mariott for cancelling us and sending us here. I would definately not recommend this hotel and gave it three stars because of the staff and the food was good.
