Jun 14, 2025Amazing resort snd staff!
We LOVED our week at Ventus El Cid and were sad when it came to an end. Our room, the properties, activities and entertainment, the food, I could go on! All of the staff were so welcoming, accommodating and hardworking. We did do the Platinum upgrade which gave us butler service. We had 3 butlers and they were happy to help us whenever we asked, even surprised us with a decorated room on our last night for our anniversary! We definitely hope to be back again.

First Trip and we will be returning!
Ricardo and Omar were our butlers and their personal service made for an elevated travel experience. They were very attentive to any requests we had and even decorated our room for our anniversary. We also used the El Cid Marina services. Alejandro was a great guide for snorkeling as he was so knowledgeable about the reef and Puerto Morelos. We did a fishing trip with Pedro and Ricardo and wound up bringing in a Marlin that day. It was one of those items on my husbands bucket list!

Reviews are highly subjective but here is mine. We stayed at this resort from June 1 to 6 (5 nights) in a junior suite overlooking the ocean and pool (building 22). Two adults no kids. Let's start with the good: The staff is very friendly and there are plenty of them. Some do not speak much English but you can always find someone to communicate with. The resort was also clean and rooms were spacious and clean. Room was cleaned daily and minibar maintained. The adult-only rooftop pool and bar at the Ventus Ha (resort next door) was a fantastic hangout. Shows were good, particularly the fire show. The bad: Do not go this resort if you are expecting a nice white sand beach and being able to swim in the ocean. When we visited, the seaweed problem was completely out of control. Their boom did nothing to prevents weeds from coming to shore, in fact, the boom combined with the two anti-erosion lines in the water was trapping the seaweed on the beach. It was not only disgusting to see but the smell was so bad, you could hardly stand on your balcony. Even more frustrating was in totally inefficient measures being deployed to clean the beach (see attached pictures). This was a major letdown. Moving on: we asked to change room because the first one, a "garden view"(block 26) was actually a "construction view" on a new building. We were charged 200US to change the room (to an identical junior suite but older), overlooking the ocean but with problem mentioned above. There was no other choice, yet the resort was at low capacity. The food: in both buffet and restaurants, the food was average (at best) and there is WAY TO MUCH fish and seafood options. Every second dish had seafood added to it, it was difficult to find a decent salad without shrimps. This was a major letdown for folks who don't savy seafood (like us). You can only reserve 2 restaurants at a time and it proved difficult to get decent dining times. Here's another one... Wifi is not included, and they almost make you buy it. For example, it is impossible to see restaurant's menu anywhere on the resort without scanning a QR code which you can only do with the paid wifi... What a complete scam that was. Would have been easy to include paper versions of the menus in the rooms, at reception or in the window of the restaurants much they purposely chose not too to upsell you the wifi package. That sums-up our experience. Thanks for reading.

Great vacation!
Beautiful resort- love all the tropical flowers and palm trees. Food was excellent at all the restaurants and service was amazing. Our butlers - Cali and Ivan texted me with information and really made our last evening special as we were celebrating my husband’s retirement (they put cake and balloons in the room).

Nice place and service
Awesome place! 1st family vacation out of the country for my brother's 50th. There was 20 of us and our butler Alberto went above and beyond to help us make reservations all 6 nights here and so responsive to our every need or concerns! Great memories made!
