Awful. I had to apologize to my family for this choice!

I’ve stayed at around 10 all-inclusive resorts, so I have a solid sense of what to expect—and this is the first time I can say the negative reviews were entirely accurate. This property was a major disappointment from start to finish. We travelled with our 17- and 15-year-old daughters. Check-In Process: A complete mess. We arrived around 3 PM as the only guests checking in, yet the staff seemed disinterested and confused. They became argumentative because they didn’t have our name on their “list” which was hand-written. After several minutes of showing travel confirmations, a manager finally added our names to the list and handed us our room keys. The whole process was strange and unprofessional. Rooms: We had two rooms, neither of which looked anything like the photos online. The floors were dirty, the sliding door didn’t lock in one room, and the ceiling vent dripped water constantly, forming a puddle on the floor daily. The bathroom was dark, with a stained shower curtain and what looked like a collapsing ceiling. Worst of all, the door to one of the rooms was so swollen we could only open it about six inches—a serious safety hazard. Internet: If you need to work or stay connected, this is not the place to stay. The wifi barely functions anywhere on the property. In the room, we had to reset the router repeatedly and sit right next to it to get even a weak signal. Zoom meetings – impossible. Food: Hands down the worst we’ve experienced at any resort. It became a running joke for us—how could everything be so poorly executed? Items were either undercooked, overcooked, too salty, mushy, tasteless, cold, or stale. No exaggeration. We never saw any of the lobster some reviews mentioned. The restaurants were a joke—only available reservation times were at 8:30 or 9:00 PM, yet half the tables sat empty. The buffet staff openly ignored guests unless they were waving dollar bills. Getting something as simple as water, coffee, or a napkin was a struggle. Alcohol: Extremely low quality. Aside from a tolerable dark rum, the other spirits were barely drinkable. At one point, we watched a bartender “clean” used plastic cups by dunking them into a sink of dirty water before stacking them for reuse. Disgusting. Excursions: Be cautious. Our Destination Services rep, Wendy, was friendly—until she processed our credit card. One excursion, a catamaran snorkeling trip, turned out to include a 3.5-hour bus ride each way. We spent seven hours on a packed, dirty bus and only a short time on the actual boat. That critical detail was never disclosed. Had we known, we NEVER would have paid $150 each for this poor experience. Do not waste your time on the city tour. It is a money-grab at a few stores in cahoots with the hotel. We felt like we had been kidnapped and stuck wandering and waiting on other people that were part of the tour. The Monkey Zoo and Zip Lining were decent. Nightlife: Nonexistent. There were two old pool tables that closed by 7 PM. The nightly entertainment was awkward at best—one night was awful karaoke, another featured what appeared to be waitstaff performing poolside. Zero energy or effort. Beach: The only redeeming quality, and credit goes to Mother Nature—not the resort. The sand and water were quite nice. Unfortunately, most of the chairs were broken or taken, so we opted to lay in the sand. Towels are a whole other challenge. Pools: We didn’t use them. They seemed to be packed with young kids or drunk people, who looked like they were having fun. You might read this and think I’m being too critical or had unrealistic expectations. We never complained and kept our thoughts to ourselves in front of our teens. Outdated or old is absolutely fine—what’s not fine is poor management and a complete lack of effort to create a positive experience. This resort failed on every basic level.

    Great family holiday

Spent the week of April 21st for my Mothers 80th birthday and my parents 60th anniversary. We had a group 12 of us and the staff was excellent. The rooms are nice and we had no complaints about the food. This was are second time at this resort and would highly recommend it. I had the opportunity to meet the General Manager Oscar and he was a complete gentlemen! Thanks for a great holiday.

    Amazing!

Amazing experience! Food was excellent everyday, staff were amazing, and all the facilities were beautiful and clean. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and there were so many safe gluten free options without even needing to ask (i.e. every morning at breakfast there was gluten free bread available in a separate are from the regular bread). However, there were even more options (especially at the à la carte restaurants) when I asked about gluten free options. The drinks were always fabulous and the bartenders were extremely accommodating, even when ordering for a big group. The beach was also beautiful with good snorkeling along the reef out front. I highly recommend this resort!
