Outstanding first visit to Villa del Palmar
I am a Villa del Palmar member. But, this was the first visit for my son and my daughter-in-law to Villa del Palmar, their first visit to Puerto Vallarta and even their first visit to Mexico. The entire visit has been wonderful and the staff has been very attentive in a very cheerful way. Our final meal at the marketplace restaurant is literally one of the best we have ever had. It does not get any better than this

Poor Anniversary Experience at Seafood Market – Horrible Service in Villa Del Palmar
My family and I booked a 6-day, 5-night all-inclusive package at Villa Del Palmar to celebrate our anniversary. While the resort grounds looked okay, our experience on September 2 at the Seafood Market restaurant was extremely disappointing — especially considering it was meant to be a special night. We were a group of four (two adults, one child, and a baby), and chose three 5-course dinners to share, which we finished without issue even though the portion of some of the dishes were very little. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow — we waited over 2 hours for our main courses, with long gaps between each dish. By the time the main course arrived, it was already past 9:30 PM, and my baby was crying because it was well past his bedtime. I politely asked the waiter (wearing a black shirt) if we could have our desserts packed to go. To my shock, this waiter in the black shirt on duty that evening refused the request in a rude and accusatory manner, claiming we had ordered "too much food" and were not allowed to take dessert out. This was not only inappropriate and disrespectful, but also unfounded, given that our meal selection was well within the scope of the all-inclusive plan we had paid for. I escalated to the manager on duty (in a yellow shirt with glasses), but he echoed the same attitude, showing no empathy or understanding of our situation. Only after arguing for 5 minutes and enduring the stares of other guests did they finally bring out the pre-made desserts and throw a takeout box on my table — something they could have easily done earlier without all the drama. I also noticed that unlike our previous meals, they did not provide a customer feedback form with the bill this time, which left me with the impression that they were intentionally avoiding accountability. This experience put a real damper on what should have been a joyful night and totally ruined my anniversary celebration . We didn’t even dine at the resort much in the daytime during our stay — so this was one of the few meals we were truly looking forward to. I expected better hospitality from a resort of this caliber, especially during a special occasion. I hope Villa Del Palmar takes this feedback seriously. Service matters — and empathy goes a long way when guests are trying to enjoy their time with family.
