  Must see Freeport Bahamas, Viva Fortuna Resort

  Great value for the cost. Staff friendly and helpful, food very good, drinks were tasty, entertainment very good, something for everyone, any age and great for families. Lots for kids to do.

  Amazing 2 weeks at Viva Fortuna, Grand Bahama

  Fantastic family vacation! The beach is beautiful and didn’t have any of the seaweed other locations are having issues with. The water was clear and warm and the snorkeling and aquatic life… astounding. The food was delicious. Things were clean. There’s plenty of activities to keep you busy on property, but it was also so much fun to take the bikes for up to 3hrs and explore other hidden treasures of the island. Some special mentions: Ian & Mike from trapeze were some of our favourite people teaching one of our favourite activities. They worked with us almost daily over the two weeks and between rain storms to progress to more advanced trapeze skills and we’ll go back just for the opportunity to work with them again! Great guys. Michael, Vanessa and Roberto always kept us entertained with activities, chats, lots of rum and countless hours of beach volleyball, and Carlos (Daddy Cool) was really sweet to help my girls get a cake in celebration of my birthday. I’m not sure who made it, (thank you to whoever did) but it was delicious!!! Then there’s Rita. With her beautiful voice and bubbly personality, she was a treat almost every night, singing on the patio and in the shows. We missed her on her days off. Can’t forget our friend Alagie from water sports either. He always had our kayaks and boogie boards ready to go and gave us the “Pirates of the Caribbean experience”. Best catamaran outing ever! Lavore, our favourite bartender from the beach bar, kept us hydrated in the 35 degree heat and the bartenders from the lobby area make really good ice coffees; highly recommended. Don’t miss out on the late night pizza either. It hits just right. Thin crust, very flavourful. So many good things about this resort and the Bahamas in general. We will definitely go back.

  Decent place for the price just wish it there was a little less cigarette smoke in the pool.

  This place is in need of major renovation the roof is leaking all over, the main buffet is a accident waiting to happen with the slipper wet floor, even our room has a puddle of water, I understand that most of this is not fixable by the maintenance staff, but the things that need to be addressed and were brought to the staffs attention are not being dealt with, the ignorant people that are smoking in the pool, this is a family resort with children here being subjected to there second hand smoke, I'm on vacation also and would like to enjoy a smoke free environment and not have 4 people chain smoking in the pool.

  AWFUL EXPERIENCE- DO NOT COME HERE

  Family of 8 booking from Sept 6- Sept 13 First night, our bed was covered in someone else's Fluids. It smelt awful, my child was laying on the bed and instantly said is the bed just cold or is it wet. We took a look and it was wet with someone else's URINE!!! We got to the hotel at 9:00pm - checked in at 10:00pm took our luggage to the room, off loaded our clothes, changed the kids,hit the snack bar, and walked to see the pool. Came back to the hotel at 11:45pm come to find out the bed was soiled. Front desk said we advised her of the situation to late at 12:15pm Front desk said she is by herself and nothing we can do until 8am in the morning. When was begged her to bring a cot, bring a new mattress call someone to help he answer was i am alone. I can't help except look to see if there's another room. Found another room, and when we entered IT WAS OCCUPIED by another family. That family yelled at us and we just had to apologize and head back to the room that have the body fluids on the bed. This is just the beginning. Found mold on the bed, have pictures to show, the back doors do not lock so it's easy to enter. And the front doors anyone can enter as they do not have a safety lock.

  Me and my family absolutely loved the entertainment team and activities, especially Rita, Marina, Ian, and “Danny cool”

  We loved Rita’s singing!! She knew how to wake up the crowd and get the people dancing. She even took our request for my little sister’s birthday, and my own, which was really kind of her. Ian was very patient with the kids at the trapeze, even when they cried once they got to the top and were scared to hold the bar. Marina always took care of us when there was an event outside, and fetched us to participate if we were too shy. As for the main show guy Danny cool, just a fun guy to be around and amazing for getting us warmed up for the show. Food was always amazing and barmans are hilarious.
