Jul 29, 2025Things you should know before you go! Or don’t go…
We are currently here on Day 3 of our trip. We completely regret our decision. We got it on a Sunwing deal and now we know why. If you are looking for a place with any kind of AC, don’t come here! We were NOT told that there is no AC other than the rooms. Which is the best place to have it, but none of the restaurants, buffets, lobby… NOTHING ELSE has AC. If it were just my husband and I , it would have been ok , but our 3yr old is not dealing with the constant heat so well. This is something that should be shared, as we wish we knew this. If you are hoping that there’s cold drinking water to stay hydrated, don’t come here! There are water refill stations at every building, but these are warm/hot with no ice available except at the ONE bar they have. The only place you can get cold water and ice is at the buffet. So refill when it’s open there! There are 2 complimentary bottles of water in your room when you arrive. If you require more bottles, they are $1 bottle. This is all inclusive isn’t it? We came here knowing the hotel was dated, and it is. Which is something we don’t mind. Except during a rain storm when there’s leaks in the ceiling in the lobby area - where everyone rushed toward to get out of the rain. The workers on the resort are content AT BEST. No one wants to help you, no one is working for a tip. They really don’t care if you’re having a good time or if you ever come back. HOWEVER the entertainment staff are the BEST! so nice, so helpful, very fun/funny, talented. Just great! We’ve only been to one show and a couple of vocal performances so far and we have been impressed to say the least! The buffet food is… buffet food. Protein options are minimal. But the desserts are soooooo good! Very surprising, but a great surprise for sure! the best good so far is the bbq on the beach. Hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. We got put in the yellow building, which is the farthest from everything, which is fine. Except that at the Viva time share meeting, they said “oh they are still putting people in that building?” - we walk right by what seems to be the sewer, which is not what we want to smell after a meal. We wanted to go somewhere other than the resort but we’re not interested in any of the put together tours, so we were going to take a taxi to do a Brewery Tour. The taxi ride would have been $40USD there, and $40USD back! When negotiating cost, the driver said “no that’s the cost”. So we didn’t go. The taxi ride was only 15min. Way too much!! We asked the hotel if they could help or if that was common, aagain, no one was helpful at all. If these are all things you can get past, then this is the place for you!

The staffs are very friendly. Food is ok. They should have more variety of food each day. We enjoyed most of the entertainment. Germain is one of our favourite

Dilis from the kid's club was amazing. My kids had an awesome time to the point my kids don't want to leave. She provided different activities for the kids such as swimming and playing at the kids pool, accompanied the kids to the lunch buffet, do arts and crafts and play ping pong.

Great Vacation
Overall a nice place, the staff and entertainment are excellent! We enjoyed their nightly shows and all the day activities. After being to several other resorts in different places like Mexico and Dominican Republic you won’t be disappointed here. The beach is also very nice. Viva keep it up!

Hard pillows but on request given better pillows House keepers are excellent. Workers are good. Entertainment is good.
