Amazing, beautiful place
This was an amazing hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The food was fantastic and I had a beautiful jungle room. I love the property and all the flowers and trees on the property. It is really quite stunning. The beach was also really fun to swim in and the two pools were great. All of the weight staff was fantastic, I had a lot of dietary request and special needs and they accommodated me every time. The rooms are also breathtaking. Another highlight of my day was the manager Edgar. He helped me secure a really nice room as well as was very kind to me upon check-in. He also helped me sort out some thing with my bill and couldn’t have been kinder or nicer. I wish Edgar worked at every single W Hotel all over the world! He is a outstanding employee and Hotel is really lucky to have him.

Superb vacation ! Enjoyed being there. My husband wanted to get away and relax and it was the perfect place to do it
Loved the shaded beds by the pool, the pool itself and beach with the nice waves, and the resort itself with great food and spacious rooms. The food was excellent - even the breakfasts! We loved the shopping and the nice walk to and from the main buildings from our room. The gold carts were convenient too. The gardens were beautiful.

Beautiful place to relax
Overall this is a great place to relax, enjoy a tropical paradise and splurge a bit. It is remote, and the listed taxi prices that the hotel offers are not cheap. We rented a car, but driving out of PV to this hotel was a bit hectic, trying to learn the road rules and keep up with the other drivers. The hotel during this time was less than 50% at capacity according to the concierge at check-in. On-site activities, pre-arrival and communication Before arriving, you get an email with a link to all of the weekly activities. The concierge (Josue and Aide) were both great - incredibly helpful getting you reservations at the restaurants on-site (like Rubra) and booking external activities. They responded well via email, but you could also go to them directly at the front desk. The hotel has a WhatsApp and communicating to them via the Marriott app was quick and easy. The on-site hotel activities include paid and free classes. I signed up for 2 free classes (mixology and guacamole, salsa and tortilla making) and 1 paid class (mole). The free classes were awesome - especially learning how to make salsa from scratch. The paid mole class was ok ($800 pesos) as you didn't make anything; the chef went through the process of how to make mole, but what we eventually consumed was mole made previously since it takes at least 24 hours to stew. The beach in front of the hotel is gorgeous - the sand is incredibly soft. The waves weren't very strong in May, and I did see some people out in the ocean. Marietas Islands The external activity I booked via the hotel was a boat trip to Marietas Island. This included a trip to Hidden Beach, snorkeling, and a trip to another beach. On the way back, we saw a mom and baby whale, which was incredible given the time of the year. The tour company was Riviera Mita Tours and was only 15 min away in Punta Mita. Just a note that the operators require 2 pax minimum to go out, and the original operator I used did not have any other sign-ups. Unless it's very busy, I don't think you need to book in advance as they typically require an advance deposit. Since the original operator canceled, the deposit was refunded via cash (originally paid via PayPal) except the PayPal surcharge of $49 pesos was not refunded (that is fine but it reflected the lack of need to book in advance). The 2nd option actually utilized allowed us to pay in full via credit card. Platinum Breakfast Platinum breakfast was great - you had an option to choose oatmeal / cereal / fruit & granola with yogurt plus an egg option plus juice, coffee, and 2 pastries. You need to specify that you want all of those, otherwise the staff won't bring them out (i.e. the pastries). The breakfast was incredibly filling, and there is an option to pay extra for the buffet when it is available, but it was not available during our stay. Spa The spa is pricey but very nice. Not crowded at all - only 2 other people at the co-ed facilities when I was there. The sauna is hot, but the steam room didn't have much steam. The multiple outdoor pools were nice, and in the trees nearby, I even spatted a large iguana! I booked one of the spa specials, which included a body scrub for the price of the 50- min massage, and comes with an hour pass to enjoy at the facilities (although I think it was ok if you stayed for longer than 1 hour). The masseuse was great. Parking I believe valet parking is only available, even though the website lists self-parking as an option. There are 2 gates that you have to drive through to get to the resort, and then you go straight from there (google maps isn't correct, just keep going straight). Once you get to valet, you can walk down a road or request a golf cart. The resort really isn't that large if you don't mind walking - from the beach to the gym, it is a 5-7 min walk. Overall a great stay if your intention is mostly to spend the majority of time lounging at the resort.

Worst hotel Ive ever stayed in- poor service and terrible.
Terrible!! They put us in a basement with no elevator with a 5 month old knowing full well we had a 5 month old! 30 plus steps down- said it was oceanfront and it had shrubbery all around the outside and all adults pool in front of that you had to walk around and past a bar to get to ocean. Terrible food and beyond terrible staff at front desk. They knew we had a 5 month old and put us in a dark dangerous room with steps. See video!!! This won’t let you upload video but Marriott wouldn’t even take a look at this without constant follow up- even as titanium members. Dark depressing room and expecting me to go up and down stairs 30 plus with a stroller?! And 5 month old!!! Wow!

Our 4th trip in as many years and it is a wonderful as ever.
The property is going through a refresh and while we did miss the colorful and local decor it still has the essence of Mexico. The food is amazing…shout out Spice Market. The staff is what really makes this property worth the return. I feel terrible that I don’t remember the names of the guys at the pool and Chevycheria who were consistently making our day lovely, thank you gentlemen. It was my birthday week and there must have been a note on my room number as everyone made an effort to celebrate with me. The concierge team is outstanding. Gustavo and Anna…gracias! You’re truly the definition of excellent and professional service. Jesus/Diego took excellent care of us at breakfast. The beach is spectacular and clean. The grounds are straight out of Jurassic Park. The location close enough to town and far enough to disconnect from reality. We rarely revisit a property, this one is extremely special and we will continue to return.
