Marriott is the dregs
The corporate bean counters for Marriott has taken all the fun out of vacationing at their hotels. The people at the front desk are all depressed. They charge $75 to park There is construction at the hotel They charge $1100 for two adults and two kids for the luau The second floor of the main tower is a ghost town very dirty depressing All of the nice of these that normally accompanies vacationing in Hawaii have been murdered by Marriott There was a time when Marriott had standards, but boy they are awful Avoid this hotel it’s dirty. The people are unfriendly and it’s not worth the money – – unfortunately we spent over $500 per night on two rooms. Go to the outrigger at least they have Dukes and have a lot of stuff going on there.

I will be back to enjoy this resort once again
Very clean hotel and our room was great. The bed was very comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was warm and friendly and they provided us with wonderful service and hospitality. The luau at the hotel was excellent. I highly recommend this resort and will definitely return.

Do NOT stay here !!!
This hotel is a train wreck. To be fair, the rooms themselves are fairly standard marriott and for the most part, up to date. The rest of the property, not up to date. This is a full service marriott, not a courtyard or Fairfield, and they had extremely limited F&B availability. They blame this on the rain, but when you see hotel guests by the dozens ordering Uber Eats and eating in the lobby. The GM who must be hiding under a rock should have done something. I am appalled to have selected this place for an overnight. Over a $1000 for 2 rooms for a dirty, tired, and mismanaged hotel. Shame on the owners and management. I spoke to Jeff Gray to front desk manager who blamed this on 2 third party restaurants who "pulled out" and said there is NOTHING they can do about it. They have only one buffet open which was not appetizing, to wit the manager says "that is your choice." And get this no room service since COVID. And when I said the hotel is full service the manager says, no we are a resort. Translation, they should have more choices not less.

Comfortable Stay and Helpful Staff
We stayed here 4 nights over Thanksgiving week and had a pleasant and comfortable stay. We arrived much earlier than the check in time and Anna at thr front desk took care of us and was able to get us check in right while delivering great customer service. I inquired about the Lua scheduled for Wednesday night and she was able to book us our resys. (Defintely do the VIP) the drinks are strong and you'll get your $$ worth. Our room did come with daily breakfast which is the buffet breakfast and is delicious. Staff here was amazing as well. It is located in the other tower end (Keaohalini Tower) We stayed on the 31st floor of the Paoakalini Tower (there are two towers) facing diamond head and views were amazing and unobstructed. I had read previous negative reviews about some people not having any hot water and we never encountered that at all staying at this tower. It is in the back however felt it was quieter than the other tower. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was clean. House keeping did an amazing job keeping our room well kept daily. No issues with the room itself and everything looked updated. The balcony views were amazing and couldn't ask for a relaxing way to end our days. Kim at the concierge desk was helpful in planning our excursions. We did the half day pearl harbor and circle tour. She also helped bookrd us reservations at other restaurants shem the italian hotel restaurant was fully booked. Thank you Kim! Also I did not catch the front desk gentlemen name who helped us with our bathroom maintenance and sent someone up right away to get this fix, while we were at breakfast. (He worked on Thursday 11/27 between 630am to 7am). By the time we got back issue fixed. The staff we encountered were amazing and helped us with whatever we needed. Thank you! Getting here: we ubered from the airport and was about $40 USD. Depending what time of day you arrive you could be sitting in traffic but we were lucky enough not to hit traffic and was about 30 minutes. Location of the hotel is great as it sits on the end of the busiest street so you can defintely walk one way and hit all the stores and do a turn around. The beach is right across the street and hotel provides beach chairs. Towels are located in vending machines where you use your hotel key card to open. See pics below. I was a bit concerned reading previous negative reviews prior to arriving but our stay has been nothing but all positive. Thank you Marriott Resoort and Spa Waikiki!

I would never stay at this property for many reasons.
I would never stay at this property for many reasons. Read below: Worse than sad This hotel is worse than sad, in bad need of repair, noisy, overcrowded with cheap dollar store quality Hawaiian shops surrounding the hotel selling goods made in China marketed as Hawaiian products. Our idea was to spend Christmas on the romantic Waikiki beach Marriott Resort and Spa hotel. We were so wrong. There are so many issues I can say with confidence I will not be returning to this hotel ever like so many of the other reviewers.……….. First let me start by saying I am Marriott Elite silver member. We spent one week in Maui, one week on the big island (Hawaii) then the last week in Oahu. Six hotels in all. All of our stays were great except for the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa which was worse than any stay in the last 25 years and I travel 3-4 times per year all over the world. The hotel is surrounded by dozens of souvenir shop and very aggressive sales staff willing to walk right in front of you on your way to the hotel to give you a sales pitch. I felt like I was in the middle of a large shopping mall with lots of noisy teenagers. Many people were not staying in the hotel yet were using the elevators and causing a lot of noise. Marriott staff was not monitoring the issues and did not seem to care. Our Deluxe ocean view room bathroom sinks were clogged when we first tried to use them and had to call service. After 4 hours they finally unclogged the sinks and cleaned the bathroom. Now we were late for our Luau. Large patio doors were worn out making an annoying grinding noise every time you opened. Room was loud with every noise from the surrounding rooms reverberating because the hotel is made of solid cement so you hear everything. We decided to eat dinner on our ocean view room when someone in the balcony above us decided to do laundry and hung their laundry out over the balcony. Water started streaming down onto our patio and we had to move everything. Called security and it took the 1.5 hours to resolve the issue after calling them three times. Check-in – I waited in the Elite member check-in for 30 minutes until I flag one of the staff members down for someone to help me. The non-elite member windows were not busy yet not one staff members offered to help us. What was interesting the receptionist took about 30 minutes to check in the person in front of us. The receptionist as very friendly talking in Japanize to them taking about 30 minutes to explain all the features of the hotel. When it was our turn it was less than 3 minutes. When we started to ask a few questions she seemed annoyed and gave us short answers and did not explain what the hotel had to offer and did not give us any maps or information on the remainder of the services. Pool area – two very small pools. One in the back and one in the front on 4th floor. No room to swim and both crowded with small kids. Elite membership grants one free breakfast but my wife had to pay full price ($25) yet we are both Elite members. No microwave in the room and $10 to have one delivered to our room. Also there is a $30 resort fee I did not have to pay at any of the other 5 hotels we stayed. So much for the pleasant relaxing Hawaiian Resort and Spa experience. It was more like a vacation in the middle of a busy mega-mall with lots of noise, dollar store products and a very crowded beach. Staff unfriendly and seemingly too busy with other matters. Unfortunately have cancelled my Marriott Elite Silver status and have decided to stay in other hotels after such a terrible experience. Room Tip: Stay far away from this properly and avoid it at all costs or you will be writing a negative review and be unhappy with the time you spent here. This place is jammed with people and there is nothing comfortable about your stay.
