The best service
The best of dominican republic and Carlos took Great care of us. His experience says it all. He works at the sports bar. And could not do more for us

The staff are the loveliest people I’ve ever known hard-working can’t do enough for you. Food was very very good and the gardens were amazing.

Bad experience.
This hotel seems to have 2 profiles. Very awful resort, awful experience, that people should be warned about. Please see my review here: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g147293-d478252-Reviews-Bahia_Principe_Grand_Punta_Cana-Punta_Cana_La_Altagracia_Province_Dominican_Republic.html?m=19905

The beach is very nice and the excursions were decently priced and very fun. The shuttle system is nice that drives you around the resort to your room/the beach etc. but some of the drivers were rude and prejudiced (they would drive right pass me and my family when we're trying to get a ride but would stop for lighter skinned people). The resort is currently under renovation and I guess we got put into the non-renovated rooms because some of our rooms had mold (including mine, I was sick the entire trip from sleeping in the room). They put my cousin in a room that people were already staying in and tried to make her pay $2,000 to put her in a better (renovated) room even though we already paid in advance and its not her fault they overbooked. The food in the buffet was not good at all and it smelled weird in there. The outdoor drink stations also had a very unpleasant scent and the the staff at the poolside restaurant were VERY rude. The restaurants that you need reservations for had decent food. So we had a nice vacation but the resort experience was not very good. Many of the staff were very prejudiced against us. At one point at the bar, the bartender kept ignoring my cousin trying to order a drink but when his (white) wife approached they went over to serve her immediately. I intend to visit the DR again but I will NOT be staying at this resort.

Honest service from Jose Gilberto , no 182 on the beach
We received excellent services from Jose Gilberto , no 182 for trip over Saona Island. The actual beach at the hotal was bad with alot of seaweeds this season though.
- AdvisoryThe Dominican Republic imposes various restrictions each year for Easter. They usually begin the Thursday prior to Good Friday and run a few days past Easter Sunday. The following regulations may be enforced: -Motorized water sports may be banned -Non-motorized water sports may be limited or banned -Alcohol consumption may be restricted (most resorts get a permit enabling them to serve alcohol to nonnative people during the ban) -Music may be limited or silenced
- AdvisoryThe hotel will renovate 288 rooms with modern designs and high-quality furnishings, enhancing guest comfort. Construction (April 21–Nov 30, 2025) will relocate guests to villas to avoid disruption. Upgrades include pools, restaurants (buffet, Japanese, Grill), lobby, bar, theater, and gym. Affected services will temporarily shift: pools remain open, reception moves to Bouganville, and dining/theater/gym access is redirected. New areas debut Dec 1, with fencing to reduce visual impact.
